- In this video, I share some rare Israel First Day Covers during and immediately after the 1967 Arab-Israeli war. This week marks the 56th anniversary of the 1967 war whereby Israel conquered the West Bank and Eastern Jerusalem from Jordan, the Gaza Strip, and the Sinai Peninsula from Egypt and the Golan Heights from Syria.

What an extensive piece of history you have. I've often seen Israeli military postal history, but your FDCs are much more interesting. On the military occupation FDCs the top cancellation also says צה"ל - Tzahal as well as the stamps.

I would love to get some of these first day covers as my grandfather was born in Bethlehem when under the Ottomans and my Dad born in Jerusalem when under The British Mandate of Palestine.
