The only way to save the industry of big budget narrative film and TV is for regulatory corporate capture of AI, to prevent the masses from being able to make adult swim shows at home with the right GPU and etc. I think it’s possible in the coming months (the closer the country with the most intense military in the world gets to election season) creating photo realistic AI images or video will require a government license that is expensive to attain, thus preserving film and tv studios for the time being. In conjunction to this, influential entities with power and money in this industry- RED, ALEXA, Nuke Studio, Nickelodeon, stages, warehouses - they are going to do EVERYTHING in their power to neuter AI’s progression and use. Which is why even though this change can take place within 5 years it’s going to take 15. If this industry wasn’t unionized to the degree it is, it would be an overnight path to game over. At least people have ensured themselves time to transition.

Will this democratize the industry or will it destroy it altogether as a source of income? The implications of this tech is deeper than just people making movies in their computers, this is a paradigm shift that can change the economy and working landscape altogether, and that's quite scary isn't it?

That’s because it’s the first generation. Midjourney took images from looking like a child’s drawing to a photorealistic image in 12 months. It is likely you will have a hard time detecting an AI generated video within a few years.

@@zoeherriot nah, I'm an artist, I KNOW fake from real. 25 years ago I offered calligraphy to a shop in SF and they said we have a computer that can do that.
But I said no computer has emotion and a good or bad day so their product is without emotional imput which MAKES art.

@@punapeter Yeah... no. You will be fooled. I've shown some of the latest images to my father, an artist of 55 years, exhibited in the royal academy of arts and kept in numerous museums around the world - he was fooled.
We are a very short way down this road - and we are already at a point where it can be hard to differentiate an AI generated photograph from a real one - let alone AI art.

I was raised on REAL art so I can tell the difference. And as a published artist of MANY mediums I can say so.
I can airbrush a picture you could not tell if it was a photo or painted.
THAT is talent, computers don't have talent, they are machines.

@@punapeter it’s hilarious because AIs are winning art competitions and no one knew AI made the art until afterwords. You’re so incredibly wrong but keep saying whatever makes you feel better I guess 🤷🏽‍♂️ AI can mimic human emotion too and can mimic the little “human errors” in artwork as well. Also majority of people could care less about what the artist was feeling or the process the artist took to get there, people just care about the end result. So saying the majority of the world are “video game minds” doesn’t get your job back and doesn’t change the fact majority of the world will be consuming AI art and AI everything lol.

Very soon AI will be better at giving legal advice and reviewing and preparing legal documents than the best lawyer in the world. And very soon AI will be better at giving medical consultations, including recommending lab tests with results uploaded for review, than the best doctor in the world.
What do you think will happen to the world's economy when all doctors and lawyers everywhere suddenly lose 70% of their work to AI, not to mention all of the other industries that will also be replaced?
What do you think will happen to poverty, crime rates, forced migration, peace and equality in general after we launch a livable minimum wage, universal education, universal healthcare, universal basic income and universal internet, raising the starting point of capitalism from zero, we'll let you die with no money, to a level of life with dignity, reducing societal daily fears on a massive scale and freeing us to welcome the automation revolution with open arms rather than with fear and great harm? 😃 #EqualityMovement #BLM #EmpowerEveryone
