    Amazing Project AND It's Open Source?!? Absolutely Stellar Job!

    This is a phenomenal achievement, and holds up completely even in 2024. If more people were like you, imagine how far we would get!

    This is how robots should look: like robots, not humans.
    Reachy is truly adorable and non-offensive.
    Nowhere near the uncanny valley, because It has its own identity and do not try to pretend to be something It's not.
    It's perfect.

      We can make robots look cute without making them human. In fact , their mechanical features make them cute. See: Cutieroid project. Even a robot meant to distinctly resemble a human, with this goal in mind, will still look better than one meant to resemble a human 100%

      The ones that look human are Androids.

    He's cute, alot less threatening than the other ones I've seen. I think I like him 😍

    A practical aplication for this: If you can put some locomotion system, they can be rented by factory and used for managers and executives to follow productive processes without having to leave their rooms or be exposed to dangerous machines. With some AI it can be used to document process and measure times of artesanal labor for furniture factory as an example.

    2024's reality check: As Optimus grabs headlines, how about we stir the pot with Open Robot Engineering? Time for a tech uprising, anyone?

  • @IQpierce

    This may seem less threatening because it can't walk, so it can't come to your bed and stand over you while you sleep.
    But have you noticed that it COULD walk on its two hands if it had to? Or if a malicious hacker made it do so? And then it could watch you sleep, and all my nightmares would come true after all.

    @quentinmunch3700 4 года назад +2

    Vraiment très impressionnant !
    J'aime beaucoup le design de la tête et du cou. Après l'utilisation de Dynamixel pour les bras, ne lui permet pas de soulever de lourde charge...(2kg->5kg).
    Il faudrait aussi ajouter un support pour la tête pour lui fixer des capteurs supplémentaire comme le Realsense D435 ou T265 de Intel.
    Sinon c'est vraiment un super robot !

    • @PollenRobotics
      @PollenRobotics  4 года назад

      Merci :) Reachy peut porter des objets d'environ 500gr. C'est un robot conçu pour des applications civiles et finalement nous manipulons peu d'objets plus lourd dans notre quotidien. En tout cas, Reachy n'est pas un robot industriel fait pour déplacer des charges importantes 24/7.

      @PollenRobotics  4 года назад +1

      La fluidité en robotique est toujours un challenge et on espère bien encore améliorer ce que Reachy peut faire ! C'est pour ça que nous allons commencer un travail de thèse CIFRE avec nos amis de Rhoban sur cette question. D'autre part, n'hésites pas à rejoindre la communauté open-source pour participer à son amélioration ! Bonne journée
