Something often forgotton about this race is the driver's championship after Hamilton won this race:

@@gvdc the issue with kubica is that sauber stopped developing their car in 2008 to focus on the 2009 car. He still finished 4th in the championship i believe, but it was a way off the leading two. In the end, the sauber next year was lacklustre due to it having no double diffuser. When he drove for renault, he was easily best of the rest and could've secured a ferrari drive for 2012 if it wasn't for his horrific accident

Ferrari screwing Kimi's strategy....once again....they really went downhill with their race strategies after Ross Brawn left the team with Schumi after 2006. I really dont understand what they were thinking when they decided not to change the tyres...

@@ksfreestylers1146 Perhaps, but Im just saying Ferrari screwed up Kimi's strategies SO many times afterwards as well that you could really write a book about it...Their managment and decision making went downhill after Brawn and Todt left, there is imho no question about it.
I honestly cant remember one race where their strategy in this kind of conditions would have been brilliant anymore after they left. All I can think of is other occasions where they ruined the race for Kimi with bad decisions like putting him way too early on wets in Malaysia 2009, screwing his quali in Austria 2015 by not informing him how much time was left, screwed him over in Monaco Gp 2017, handing the win to Vettel, not pitting him right after Vettel crashed in Germany 2018 leaving him out for another extra lap and not putting enough fuel in his car in 2018 Belgium quali....just to name few occasions where their decision making costed Kimi a lot.

@@Balnazzardi It's a shame really, he was quicker than Lewis but didn't even get a podium. Maybe if they didn't screw up his strategy he would've been in the title fight for the rest of the year and made the season better (not crash out of Spa under pressure). But they have screwed Massa, Alonso and Vettel enough times too. It would've made sense to just copy the leader's strategy when you're gaining on him, than make a ''gamble'' which wouldn't gain you anything since everyone was on the same strategy and you were faster.

Any F1 fan would understand that the fact that you have a fast car now does not mean you will have a fast car in 5 or 10 races (if others improve and you don't). Let alone a fast car next season. Ye, I really dont understand what Ferrari was thinking in that occasion...or in many occasions since Ross Brawn and Jean Todt left the team....
I think it just goes showing how brilliant those 2 were when they lead Ferrari, its been downhill in management and strategy every since they left Ferrari after 2006 and 2007. I mean you could write a book about how many times Ferrari screwed up their strategies since then... and especially with Kimi. Another 2 "good ones" come to mind from his last year with Ferrari in 2018. First in Germany they completely froze in shock after Vettel crashed out and didnt pit Kimi right away, instead of leaving him to track for 1 extra lap....potential win lost there. And In Belgium they screwed up his quali by not putting enough fuel in the car if I remember correctly and that left him in bad position for the race, which then was ruined right away at the start crash.
