Thank you for putting this up. I bought one of these YEARS ago, I even built a little kick drum and hight hat to go with it by buying pieces from old electronic drumsets and building a little tiny apartment sixed “drumset” but and haven’t really used it since because I didn’t know how to get more sounds than the useless ones on the machine. Cheers.
Hey mate - great vid - only thing I struggle with is having more than 4 samples you want to play from the SD card means you have to switch Kits and there is a horrific processing time - doing this mid gig is quite frustrating - any ideas on either copying them to internal memory or how to get more than 4 SD card samples on a single kit? Thanks
You've nailed one of my big gripes with the Sample pad. I have no idea why there doesn't seem to be a way to access the internal memory (that I know of anyway!). In terms of more than 4 samples, unfortunately not on one kit. There's only the 4 pads, so the limit is annoyingly four. If you find a way, let me know! And if I find a way, I'll be sure to create a video!
@@DrumElectric So in a gig scenario. Say you have 4 unique samples you want to use for each song, can you set up a 4 x custom sample bank for each song, and then easily flip between the banks between songs? Or do you have to reprogram the pads between every song?
Very well done I may be contacting you. I’m thinking of getting a drum pad soon. Do you know anything about the Lecato PD 705? I think it’s got nine pads on it and they only go for about 300 bucks but I’ve seen them for like 50 bucks$200 even
Random question! if you remove the SD card for any reason, like adding or changing samples, will the samples then have to be reprogrammed to a kit on the sample pad?
Hi do you know of a link I can go to find sounds on that will work with this pad unit? I have a Simmons emit with no dual zone capability so I need to find some cool rimshot sounds. I realize this pad unit is mainly for adding accessory sounds to non dual zone or small emits with minimal capabilities. So where can I go to find compatible alesis sounds to download?
Fortunately the Alesis website has a full pack to download for free! It’s a little hidden away on their website, but I made a video on it called “Where to Download Samples”
Question: so does the Alesis converter take any sample, no matter even if it's not 16 bit wav and turn it into a 16 bit wav? Can you show how the process of dropping files into the program an all works? I mean I don't mind seeing you trying to open the package but would rather see some more nuts and bolts of getting samples onto the card and using the surprisingly good software from Alesis :)
Hi Harry, how do I configure the inbuilt sounds and store them in the 10 presets, or can I do it with a formatted SD card, in the front...it's a pain having to program in my sounds every time I want to take the sp4 out ..cheers man..
So from my knowledge, you’d just replace the the sounds in the 10 presets with that in the SD card. I’m yet to find a way to actually store anything in the Alesis without the SD card annoyingly
hey Harry, are you haveing any problem with buzzing on the outputs ? or any triggering problems with the edge triggers ? there are some old reviews here that have me worried i am going to get a lemon.
So far I’ve not had any noticeable buzzing on the outputs. But, I haven’t put it through a full PA yet. Happy to check though! Triggering on the edge triggers, yes, haha! I’m not a fan of the position of them, so I have gone to hit them and they’ve not fired. That being said, the only sample pad I’ve used where this hasn’t been an issue so far is the SPD-SX Pro which is a substantial price difference. All other sample pads I’ve had some sort of issue firing off the top edge triggers
It did indeed work. However I found I couldn't leave the samples in loops in folders. They all had to be out in front on the card. Alittle annoying but not the worst.
Interesting! I’ve not had that yet, but definitely something I’ve heard of. I wonder if the file is either in the right format, or it’s struggling to read it somehow so you might need to experiment with re-exporting
I have copy .wav to SD card but my Alesis Samplepad Pro does't see any samples on the card. Only files automaticly craded when I do my set-up on this device. Nothing else 😪
what's wrong with 32GB ? holly cow dude, that's a lot of cymbals and hats ... MIDI out to a couple of those 80HP Behringer SY-1 clones when they come out, or load up Softube Heatbeat in your DAW, for an endless pallet of everything else
I've made a long sample shorter on Reaper and rendered the file with the correct settings/I've also used the Alesis converter but I'm still getting an error message on the sample pad. Any ideas?
How strange. What error is it saying? My first thought is that either the file size might be too big, or you’ve hit the sample length limit. If it’s the latter, I don’t know what the limit is!

I had a question if it says sound too large. Does that mean we cannot use the backing track ?

i would ask you the same… have you find a solution to move through different kits? thank you
Not that I know of sadly without adding a trigger to add 1 more sample

Yes you’re exactly right! You can set up 4x individual sample banks to switch between. Set it up once, and you’re good to go!

Why mine says “SD card eror”? Please help
Super helpful thanks!
Random question! if you remove the SD card for any reason, like adding or changing samples, will the samples then have to be reprogrammed to a kit on the sample pad?
That’s a great question! From my knowledge, no, as I had to do the very thing to make this video. I’ve never thought about that before!

That's right! I believe it can change any sample type to anythin gyou like - but I could be wrong, I use Logic to convert things!

thank you for the pre-purchase insight, Harry; appreciated@@DrumElectric
Will a mirror sd with adaptor work? Currently standing at Walmart and they are out of normal sd cards.
If you mean micro SD card with adapter, yes!
@@DrumElectricStupid auto correct.
It did indeed work. However I found I couldn't leave the samples in loops in folders. They all had to be out in front on the card. Alittle annoying but not the worst.
Hey brotha, dumb question but is there a way we can just download drum samples onto the sample pad alone without the use of SD Card?
Not a dumb question at all! From my knowledge, no. Which is one of my biggest issues with the pad
Mine read the file but it kept giving me a "processing" thing and then a sound error???
Interesting! I’ve not had that yet, but definitely something I’ve heard of. I wonder if the file is either in the right format, or it’s struggling to read it somehow so you might need to experiment with re-exporting
@@DrumElectric Yes i figured out! Had to be sure to convert it to 16 Bit Wav in audacity!
Amazing!!
Hey I’m having a problem when I load my sounds it says invalid format. Can you help me out pls
Is the audio you’re importing definitely a .WAV, 16bit, 44.1kHz? The Alesis Sample Pad is annoyingly fussy!
Yes definitely all three
How strange! How long is the audio file?
I have copy .wav to SD card but my Alesis Samplepad Pro does't see any samples on the card. Only files automaticly craded when I do my set-up on this device. Nothing else 😪
Is the .wav in the right format?
Kenapa terjadi delay ya
Kalo pak SD ada delay gimana cara mengatasinya
Can I play a loop on it Sample pad
Yep!
Thank you
