Does anyone know how this compares to the newer Honda HSS1332ATD. Which one should a buyer purchase assuming we can find a good used one HSS1332TAS?

Are skid shoes on the sides of the auger housing helpful? In which situations?

Good question, which I don’t recall the details of. But if my memory serves me correctly, the skid shoes on the side of the auger housing are for gravel driveways, and the one skids shoes on the rear of the auger housing are for paved driveway.

Nice honda, I have a similar 2015 model, I'd advise on investing in heavy duty side mounted skid shoes, part number 04700-768-E110. The upgraded skid shoes make sure that the auger teeth/serration never hit the pavement and wear down. A lot of the older honda snowblowers that you might come across on craigslist etc will have worn augers due to not having side skids.

In this video I don't yet have the side mounted skids shoes installed. I originally added the side mounted skids shoes in addition to the rear mounted skid shoes but I found the rears would still dig into any uneven surface and pull the entire machine left or right. I ended up removing the rear mounted skid shoes and just use the side mounted skid shoes now.
