I just bought the 12 in 1 for my gf for Christmas but found out this has the steam and crisp option and also proof do I think I’m going to return it and get this one instead
Does the top heating element turn on during the 20 min pre-heating? Or only after preheating is done? Is the idea that the preheating time is the steaming portion and you control the length with the amount of liquid added?
Hello Jonathan. The top heat element does turn on during the pre-heat. The time for to preheat for the steam settings can very based on the temperature, setting and amount of water added.
Hi! No, it will not take an additional 10 minutes to preheat. With the packaging, you will receive a pamphlet with all the necessary details for you to look into. But it is extremely quick and easy to use.

So for this recipe, stick with smaller chicken breasts, pasta comes out aldente at 10 mins, do not substitute the broccoli, just follow it verbatim, came out ok, I still need to get used to it, double check chicken temp with thermometer, I do love this thing tho
Can I use frozen chicken breasts instead of fresh when doing all three things at same time? Or always has to be fresh when combining things in this way and not having to monitor it?

My pasta came out super over cooked and all stuck together. 10 min of cooking alongside 20 min of preheating feels way too much for pasta that’s done in 6-8 minutes, no?

Question! Just got one from Santa! Are we supposed to leave the warning stickers on the lid and the side of the pot in place, or are we supposed to peel them off? I like the reminders, so I hope I can leave them.😊 Thanks!
That is quite the gift, Jen! We are sure you are going to love it!. You can leave the stickers on the outside of the unit, as long as they are not covering a vent.
@@NinjaKitchenUS , thanks! I only removed the ones that said, “peel here,” which were needed for just initial info. Glad I can keep the others. I need all the help I can get!😄
I am waiting to see how my meal turns out. I tried for almost an hour to get the top rack to fit “sliding” into the other rack. I couldn’t get them to fit. I ended up turning it over and then still, my chicken breasts are only about an inch thick… my food and racks are so close to the top I am still worried that the chicken is touching the heating element on the top. I used each item shown here and measured exact as the directions state. I actually think I put less broccoli. Her bowl looked pretty full. I hope it comes out but I still don’t understand why my racks won’t fit as shown in the video. And yes, I checked my manual, I looked on Ninja, and I am here because I began searching for people showing what they did. I am perplexed!
It's best to practice assembling the racks with no food in the pot. Also, go to 3:05 in the video and put it on slow motion to see how the rack comes apart and goes back together. Another little tip--most small to medium dry pastas and grains will easily pass through the rack. Stir together liquids, place the bottom layer rack in, and then add the pasta/rice/grain. You can stir with chopsticks as they will easily fit through the rack as well. This lets those racks sit as far down as possible in the pan and keep them level.
I had the same problem! Eventually chicken wasnt touching but was close and now i am panicking the heating element is ruined as when the chicken charred it left black marks on it too (not burnt but smoked). Food cooked perfectly but hey what a stress that it will break my ninja! Best part of it all, i followed a recipe from the book sent by ninja and steam fried the chicken and potatoes meal. So be careful with 2 tier meals people, I think whole chicken is safer air fried in a frying basket.
@@a.s.9674 The little recipe book that comes with the foodi should specify what weight/thickness to use on the racks when doing layered meals. When on steam and crisp, I flip the meat halfway through otherwise the top side can over cook.
I don’t want to use foil and risk the aluminum leaching into the food. Can you do more recipes without foil or both ways? More multi meals in general, they are hard to come by when looking for certain ingredients.

Hello Jonathan. The top heat element does turn on during the pre-heat. The time for to preheat for the steam settings can very based on the temperature, setting and amount of water added.
If it takes 20mins to pre heat for first batch and 10mins to cook, will the second batch take 10mins or it pre heats again?

Why does the wire rack have to sit in the food. I would never cook on the bottom know the wire sits in whatever is cooking down there.

was this done in the 8 qt. or 6.5 qt.?
Hi K. i M, thanks for reaching out! The unit comes with a 8-qt Inner Pot.
How can i find steam&crisp ? Only i have is combi steam
Hi Malone! Depending on where the unit was purchased, the setting may be called "Combi-Steam". This would be the same setting as "SteamCrisp".

How do you put in the ring
Its easier to fit the rubber seal when its warm e.g put it back on after youve washed and dried the ring
this reminds me of the woman that made lasagna with the dishwasher
