Why? "Before the World Dies" is a unique, climatic and beautiful piece that should be saved for the true finale. I'm more referring to a climatic showdown that *could* be the final boss, but ends up only being a fight leading up to the true finale.
A fake final boss theme should probably be treated as the actual final boss, since most of the time the fake final boss has been the main antagonist the heroes have been going after all this time, and the true final boss is a new reveal. Persona 5 is a good example of how to have a fake final boss. Hell, I wish it was the actual finale. So I'd say the fake final boss should be the one with all the leitmotifs, while the true final boss is something completely different, or maybe at least an alternate version of that character's theme if going for that kind of twist. Or if the apocalypse has happened, no boss theme. Just dead silence, and maybe ambient noise if there are ruins.
