- You guys ever use those fun name generators to come up with titles or band names...or something else? I'm pretty sure you can have absolute MINUTES of fun with those. One of the ways I used to practice music involved me asking friends to think of 4-5 random instruments and then challenging me to make a song with them. It forced me to figure out what should go where, how the instruments should compliment each other, and what overall mood the piece should be going for. It definitely helped me learn a lot when it came to making music and it was definitely (personally) good practice! So I figured...why not make it a little more chaotic with an instrument name generator? So here you go. 4 short pieces of music made up of complete randomness. This is me "Making Music With an Instrument Name Generator". I hope you enjoy!

Ah yes, the 4 main genres: groovy desert menu theme, happy circus town, progressive underwater ambience ft. whistle, and *m i x e d f o l k*
*Long ago, the four nations lived in harmony*
Until the groovy desert menu theme nation attacked
Only Shady, master of all four elements , could stop them. But when the world needed him most, he vanished.

Zither should be an antagonist in the Wood Wood anime.
i hate that i can imagine it being good
And Stylophone can be that one rival thats really into their rivalry with Wood Wood, but Wood Wood doesn't even acknowledge their existence.

Even more fitting since I believe Zither means something like "Monster" in Chinese

The one with the banjo, fiddle, harmonica, bagpipes and maracas is giving me some mystery dungeon vibes kinda and I'm all here for it
I got more of a "Cross-Culture Folktale" vibe
I felt that too omg
It feels like the beggining of a big journey or something
The beginning part was really similar in energy to the opening bit of the intro sequence to rescue team!
Yeah I just played through two of them for fun and it really matches that sorta vibe.

In the old testament of the bible, the zither is mentioned several times.
It actually is : bibleapps.com/z/zither.htm

@@kamrenblake7105 ? I don't see what it speaks besides that it is in the bible. And that is also in my original comment.
@@benrex7775 I think they mean the fact there is a whole page dedicated to the zither/when it was mentioned. Idk I didn't click it. But the fact it has a whole section called 'zither' says something.
@@wrentheelf2656 It's just a wiki on bible stuff. If you ever talked with a dedicated bible person you would be aware of those kinds of wikis out there. My mom is pretty into bible studies. And there are big books on any topic you like that is even slightly related to the bible.
And there are things called a study bible where the first half is the entire bible and the second half picks the several thousand most important words and explain them to some degree.
Bible study can be just as much of a science like any other soft science. Is history a soft science? I think so. I would put someone who seriously does bible study in the same category as someone who seriously does history.

2 honestly sounded like something out of Pokémon
Here's the way I see it.
Song 1: Speaking with a merchant in a desert village.
Song 2: Tedious minigame in a circus.
Song 3: 1/4 of the way through the game, an NPC dramatically tells you the story of an ancient civilzation that met a tragic yet mysterious demise.
Song 4: You stumble upon a peaceful fishing village.
4:39 "What was that a centipede in my ear?"
*oshiete intensifies*
what's 100-7?
93, or am i missing something
The first, third, and fourth, all sound like they could be Mystery Dungeon themes. And the second one is just homebrew The World Revolving.
Is that a Wii reference?
*This Wii channel surely does have many Deltarune references*
2:54 stole some apples from a village in a desert and are trying to speed away (idk)
5:12 the accordion reminds me of the old pc game called bugdom
7:33 background music for a cutscene inside a jungle temple level, probably a sort of emotional cutscene towards the end of the story
10:09 pokemon sword and shield who
As someone who's had sword and shield since release and has been getting back into it to an obsessive extent for the past week... *oh my God.*
The first one sounds like a strange crossover of Crash Bandicoot and The Ocarina of Time
Song 1 reminds me of your usual style.
Song 2 reminds me of the Mario & Luigi series
Song 3 reminds me of Chrono Trigger or any other "mystical" RPG
Song 4 is just... Oddly satisfying to listen to
You are a very versatile composer. Hope someone hires you for a video game soon enough!!
I'm glad I'm not the only one that thought 2 sounded Mario and Luigi esque
I'm glad I'm not the only one that thought 3 sounded Chrono Trigger esque
4 reminds me of the whole Outer Wilds vibe
JackStache It's the pan flute + tuba combo, definately.
"You are a very versatile composer. Hope someone hires you for a video game soon enough!!
wink wink
honestly, i’m from scotland and the one with the bagpipes would literally not sound out of place here, especially at the annual local parade we have bc i thought for a second that i’d seen this video before because the Vibes of that song were so on point and familiar
the first one sounds like a casual anime theme, the second one sounds like a race or minigame, the third sounds like a sad 'a main character died and now everyone is mourning as the rainbow dust they vanished into disappears into the sunset' song, and the fourth sounds like the overworld theme before you get your ass kicked by the antagonist and the story gets started.
they all sound pretty great, honestly, i'd love a part 2 to this.
I feel like this would be a fun challenge to do with a friend, where you would both get the same instruments, then see the difference in directions you'd decide to take. I don't know who else you'd do it with and I have a poor grasp on the time that goes into composing, but I think it'd be cool
I...was expecting silly or bad songs due to the weird instrument mix. Now, I stand corrected. Music #1 and #3 were my favorites.
You have amazing talent, Cicada!
Everyone else talking about how good the music is: "woah, it's crazy how you can just make a song out of random instruments and make it sound awesome"
Me, agreeing but also mad because you didnt sleep: 4:30 AM? You need SNEEP NOW GO
the one with the bagpipes sounds like the hopeful moment where everyone is like giving you their power before you go to fight the final boss
calamity ganon
the second one sounded like the background music in a very eccentric town in an rpg where you get weirded out by the townsfolk
5:12 making a circus level theme in 10 minutes or less
I respect that pfp
I love this idea zoo wee mama I'd slurp up a whole plate of this

We thought that the second song sounded like The World Revolving. He plays a lot of games and watches a lot of animes and movies so don’t expect him to not get inspired from their soundtracks too.
The one with the accordion reminds of the chaos of "The World's Revolving" but to a lesser extent.

Honestly I kind of really loved that second track !! For me it sounded like you had been asked to find all the members of a band across the world, and the more you find the more instruments you hear in their hideout's theme until they're all here and the song is complete ! Like IDK the fact that all the instruments were so different but still harmonised in an energetic and joyous way was super inspiring :D

We must see the loading dance.

How does this man have the ability to make an absolute banger out of literally anything
As a member of the viola community I highly respect a viola lead, especially this one
Track 4 had very RPG second-town vibes. Not the hero's podunk town, or the crowded city, but the bigger town nearby with the hustle and bustle of markets and agriculture.
bro this is absolutely golden, i loved the cool sounds that came from random instrument combinations, such a good job dude, fantastic tunes. i'm excited to listen to any of them if you decide to make em full songs.
Third one gave me Unwavering Emotions vibes from Pokemon B&W. Love this
I loved this idea, and I really hope this becomes a series like your other challenge videos.
That last one gave me major wind waker vibes.
I love this! Please make more, you could even make this a bi-weekly series considering you could make a couple of "tunes"(I don't know how to call these) in a short-ish amount of time.
I loved the one at 7:33, it gave me major "emotional AoT music" vibes.
The xylophone one does feel like wandering around a dark castle surrounded by animated skeletons and tragic backstory symbolism.
The whistling is giving me serious Tomodachi Life nostalgia.
Also I love this. Shady needs to do more.
Honestly, a harmonica, a banjo, maracas, a fiddle, and bagpipes is a combination I never would've even imagined and now I'm somehow yearning for more. Good job, Shady.
2:19
This sounds like when you get Yoshi in Mario World
yEs
Mario: *has good music*
Yoshi: “hOw ‘bOuT wE aDd dRuMs??1!!1?”
Bro that last one was so good honestly, favorite by far. Gives me dnd party vibes of when you’re just having a good ol’ time while dancing in a tavern or playing around while traveling
That last one sounded like a town theme or credits, or emotional boss fight
You had my hands clapping. Good lord, 4 musics, in 4 different genres, with 4 different feels to it. All pretty decent to be put into a high valued game. Wow, just wow.
The first music seem like a music out of a desert, which has a very 'crazy/wacky' feel to it, like a desert world theme you would find if the player character was high on cactus juice. Or if the story had wacky and crazy monsters which seem kind of cute like in earthbounds first levels.
The second music seem like a music straight out of a circus, more precisely when the clowns are presenting. The show has a low audience, and they are kind of in the middle of nowhere, but that is fine, the clowns love their job and everyone is getting a laugh.
The third music seemed like the music you would find in a church themed dungeon, which seem to maintain the appearances of a PG13 story, but has a way darker under-story behind the scenes. Like a tragic story. And now the ghosts of this story stay on earth singing for their lives not lived.
The fourth music seem like a music out of the capital of a foreign country, like in a isekai story where you have a country in a temperate climate and an european vibe, but you quite not recognize it as european. There is something to it... something which is special to that place. Maybe that is what they call magic?
more of these please its curing my depression just like the goron
The second song sounds like a timed mini game, all the hyped giddy anxiety of trying to mash buttons faster than the other players in Mario party is rushing back haha. It does also have slightly eccentric village vibes
6:04 is that the song you showed us a teaser of during a stream? I’m really excited for that one ;)
The banjo one is giving me real 'start of an adventure' vibes. I really love all of these.
The first one sounds kinda like a forest village in the trees or somethin'!
9:15 *_you hear a faint cheer of "we are number one!" in the distance"_*
5:18 Probabily some soundtrack from a farm game
Damn, I'm seriously in love with this new format. Please do make full renditions of your favorites in here.
Possible idea for a future video: choose 5 random instruments of each type and make a song with each type group
5:11 BRO ITS JUST UPBEAT WORLD REVOLVING
dang it ;-;
ur right tho lol xD
2:53 - The Forest’s Revenge!
5:09 - Comic Relief
7:32 - Haunted Halls
10:07 - Path Ahead
Heck yeah, make more of these, dude! Musical sketches are always super cool. I can't even remotely pick a favorite of these four - they were all so, so good.
VIOLA LEAD, I REPEAT, VIOLA LEAD
Viola gang rise up!
the third song kinda starts out giving me Terraria Dungeon vibes and then evolves into something greater, and its amazing. That progression was just really nice...
I feel like doing this, but Im sure it’s more difficult than it looks ...
no reason not to try anyway :)
I unironically REALLY REALLY liked the 4th song, omg
Cicada: uses instrument names to make music
Music makers: write that down! Write that down!
It's probably just the instruments but that track with the bagpipes suddenly gave me massive mystery dungeon flashbacks. I gotta say all of these were really impressive btw! I'd love to see more!
7:33 sounds like Attack on Titan emotional music.
That last song made me extremely happy on the inside, like in the heart bits. If any of these get extended, hopefully, the last one included, I would be ecstatic! You're doing amazing work and I can't wait to see what you end up creating next.
wow this reminds me of these old old phone games, the ones where you make a society, and go on adventure, pure nostalgic
I would absolutely love to hear more! I'm very very excited for the possibility of some of those becoming full songs, especially the first one. You're incredible as always, buddy.
The 4th song sounds like your friend that has been with you from the beginning of your journey finally realizeing their dream
You convinced me that its possible to make AMAZING songs out of any 4 instruments.
I feel like the one with xylophone and chorus was great, but the xylophone sounds like there's someone playing Minecraft and digging through stone in the background.
The xylophone viola one really hitting me wit a beautiful terraria dungeon feel
Love the banjo fiddle bagpipes one. Gives me a folk hero vibe
Total Dark Cloud 2 nostalgia vibes from that Viola! I love that one.
These all turned out amazing! It's so cool how you think some instruments won't work together, and then they magically do in the end! Would definitely love to see a part 2 to this for sure.
I uniroically liked the last song so much
Omg yes! Will love PART 2! These pokemon mystery dungeon vibes, man. And surprisingly love all of these you made as i was just anticipating some fun sounding tunes. But you turned them all to be epic. Gr8 work!
That banjo + bagpipes song sounds like it could be the intro to a code lyoko sequel
I really like this wacky new randoms tuneage. You are so fun to watch, I love how silly you are. Please please keep going this is so fun!
First one sounded like some kind of forest temple, second one sounds like the forest outside, third one sounds like a final temple at the end of a very long emotional journey, and the last one sounds like an open field/farmland theme. I definitely would like to see more stuff like this. Very fun.
I got some serious mystery dungeon explorers of time vibes from that third one, went deep into the nostalgia trail
Bruh, the first song fucking SLAPS
These are like the mystery food basket challenge chefs sometimes do and you fuckin’ aced it.
Gotta say, I'm not a big fan of jungle areas, but I would finally be able to LOOK FORWARD to a jungle area with a theme like that first song.
The second one feels like a struggle between anxiety and relaxation, in the end you just disassociate
I am obsessed with song 4, where's the full release?!?!
My boy Shady really making BANGERS out of anything. How can he be so good, I definitely want more of this
Takes a special composer to make a harmonica, maracas, a fiddle, a banjo, and bagpipes into an actually decent sounding song
The last song should be made into a full song. I loved it so much!
I just had to pause the video and say, song 2 was awesome with some hardcore Paper Mario vibes going on, and I cannot express how much I want to hear more of that, despite how hard I laughed as soon as you added the accordion to the tuba 😂
