EVERYONE agrees that the Freedummies had to be removed, this is a legal argument over the rules and guidelines that they were removed under!

6:00 Robert Benzie of The Toronto Star made some truly idiotic remarks. Dragging the trucks into the Ottawa River? Tear gas? From a newspaper that saw nothing wrong with the ongoing Tamil protests a decade ago; that seemed to have no objections to the blockading of the Gardiner - on more than one occasion - by these same Tamil protestors; that has not spoken up about the recent blockading of the Avenue Road and 401 bridge, or the invasion of The Eaton Centre. The Star is very selective in the protests it supports, and those it will not tolerate. Oh, and Benzie qualifies his remarks with “I’m glad that didn’t happen.” No he’s not. Of course the Toronto star guys take is the dumbest.
The public hearing was done to determine if the government satisfied the conditions that needed to be met to reach their decision to envoke the act.
It was not done to determine if the government actions were legal.
The ruling today from a federal court found that the governments actions violated the constitution, unreasonable and illegal.
This isn't a situation where one judge ruled one way and the other ruled the other way because one judges ruling is legal decision based on facts the of the case, the other was an opinion on how the government handled the situation.
But this is what happens when so called "journalists" receive government subsidies, refuse to ignore their bias when covering news, and who's egos make it physically impossible to accept they were wrong about something.
