السلام عليكم ورحمة الله وبركاته May Allah’s peace, mercy and blessings be upon you all. This was taken from the lecture of the sheikh called: أحكام الإعتكاف و أعمال العشر الأواخر May Allah bless you all
The Messenger of Allah (saas) said: "Everyone among you should ask his Lord for all their needs, even down to the shoelace that broke. Don't worry ask anything from Allah. He commented the Hadith as he wished...
Subhan Allah!!! I was JUST making dua for something but I am not sure if it is good for me so I was feeling bad about asking generally instead of saying give me this and this and this. This video came up immediately on my RUclips feed and it helped my heart feel more at ease. I am asking Allah (Subhanahu Wa Ta'Ala) for what is best for me because only he knows. May Allah (Subhanahu Wa Ta'Ala) grant us all the best in this life and the hereafter. Ameen!
Walahi, Allah (Subhanahu Wa Ta'Ala) is the BEST OF PLANNERS!!! This video came up EXACTLY when I needed it. Ya Rabbil Al-Ameen, Ya Haiyyu, Ya Qayyum, I thank You!!!
I never used to ask for specific things as i knew Allah knows me better, but i felt I was doing wrong. Glad to know i wasnt doing the wrong thing And i have also always been happy with the outcome of my duaa as allah picked it and i didnt have an expectation for something specific, only what is best
And those who say: "Our Lord! Bestow on us from our wives and our offspring who will be the comfort of our eyes, and make us leaders for the Muttaqun" 25:74
what about making dua during (sujood and before taslem ) non fardh Salah ( sunnah or tahajjud ) in other than Arabic because most of Muslims don't know Arabic
Assalamu aleykum wa rahmetullahi wa barakatuhu Does the characteristics of the wife in dua also fall under who's side she will be on? For example in my country there are a lot of sufis and kharijis and i want a salafi niqabi wife, is it permissable for me to ask Allah to grant me such a wife? (For example i say "Oh Allah grant me a wife who loves You and who will wear a niqab and will be on my side)
Is asking Allah this permissible like understand of the Deen or keeping steadfast of 5 daily prayers or increase in memory for me to memorize the Qur'an or asking Allah to give me the ability to pay of my debts or or for me to die on tawheed or saying La Ilaha Illallah before me death what about asking Allah the to give me the ability to stay away from a sin please someone answer
The Messenger of Allah (saas) said: "Everyone among you should ask his Lord for all their needs, even down to the shoelace that broke. Don't worry, ask anything from Allah
Jazak Allahu khairan So, can we for example suplicate that "May Allah guide [this specific person] to Islam"? Or is it permissible that we ask him to let us marry [this specific person]?
@@hamudi1579 the difference is that you are asking Allah something for a specific person. there is a difference between asking Allah to make dua for a specific person to be guided, and become a big sheikh for a specfic region, and give knowlegde to a specific person, and marry a specfic person, and be extremely famous with lots of money. THAT is dua that is too specific. Asking Allah just to guide specific person to Islam is not in that category. Barakallahu feek.
i still don’t understand it. i’ve read and heard in way too many places that we should be very specific and not leave it on Allah like give is whatever is good. 😭 is there anywhere i can read more abt this?
'Not leave it on Allah'. SubhanAllah. Do they know the meaning of Allah's name Al Lateef? Don't they know that Allah is the Most Loving and The Most Generous and the Most Gentle?
Ibn Rajab said in Jaami’ al-‘Uloom wa’l-Hukam (1/225): This hadeeth indicates that Allaah likes His slaves to ask Him for everything that is in their spiritual and worldly interests such as food, drink, clothing etc, and to ask Him for guidance and forgiveness. In the hadeeth it says: “Let one of you ask his Lord for everything that he needs, even a lace for his shoe if it breaks.” Some of the salaf used to ask Allaah in their prayers for everything, even salt for their dough and food for their sheep. al-Manaawi said in Fayd al-Qadeer (4/110): There is no way to obtain any blessing, major or minor, except by asking the One Who is in control of all things. In the Gospel it says: Ask and it shall be given to you, seek and you shall find, knock and it will be opened unto you; everyone who asks will be given, everyone who seeks will find, and everyone who knocks will have it opened unto him. Allaah revealed to Moosa: Say to the believers: do not try to make Me hasten when you call upon Me, and do not think I am miserly. Do they not know that I hate the miser, so how could I be miserly, O Moosa? Do not think that I will not give you if you ask Me for great things, and do not feel too shy to ask Me for small things. Ask even for flour and food for your sheep, O Moosa. Do you not know that I have created the mustard seed and everything greater than it, and I have not created anything but I know that people need it, so whoever asks Me for something knowing that I am able to give and withhold, I will give him what he asks for and forgive him. ‘Urwah ibn al-Zubayr said: I ask Allaah when I am praying, and I even ask Him for salt for my family. End quote. Shaykh Ibn ‘Uthaymeen (may Allaah have mercy on him) said in al-Sharh al-Mumti’ (3/284): There is nothing wrong with asking for some worldly things, such as saying: “O Allaah, give me a spacious house” or “O Allaah, give me a beautiful wife” or “O Allaah, bless me with abundant wealth” or “O Allaah, give me a comfortable car”. That is because du’aa’ in itself is an act of worship, even if it is asking for worldly things, and a person has no one to turn to but Allaah. End quote. got it from islamqa. so yeah this is where the doubt comes from not particularly an issue with aqeedah per say. we know he is Al lateef but how do u make dua exactly for a need.

Would that not be under the dua the shaykh said in the video? A righteous wife and offspring and being a leader of the righetous.

They either need to learn about who Allah is or just learn about proper Aqeedah. Educate the people, if possible, from whom you heard this thing from.
