- Today, we'll take a look inside a good old fashioned backlock, which has a brand new trick making for a very nice snappy action, the Bestech Tonic.

I love when companies do new stuff like this. Looks well implemented and keeps things fresh
Great little take down, break down video Nick. It's always a great day when you upload
I just bought 2 of them based on both your videos
I've been super curious about this one! Disassembly doesn't look too bad. Can't wait for the full review. Only thing that has kept me away so far is the questionable price tag.
I wish they had the design on the pivot line up with the axis of the knife as well as the accent cuts on the scales. It looks like it is just a few degrees off.
I love the architecture and styling of the tonic and I like the construction design.
I'm a little less impressed and enthusiastic about the ball bearing back-lock design than you are I think as i doubt its necessity .
I own several Cold Steel knives with the Triad back-lock that operate very smoothly and not only deploy easily just like other lock types but also unlock and close one handed easily. In fact, my rajah-3 is so smooth and light in action I can easily Spydy flick it open and of course, unlock and close just as easily. It's action ranks in the top 10 of my entire collection, no ball bearing required.
That said, the tonics action does seem good. I don't mind the "2-stage" closing so long as it can be accomplished one handed, which it appears to be capable of.
Think I'm going to grab one at Bladeshow ATL if they have one.
I love you Nick.
It's a great carry--- slimmer than I thought, firm but smooth movement and perfect backlock tension on the close, ideal blade shape & size. The clip is a little pointy and there's no jimping.
Been waiting to see a video on this!
Love this thing looks good
I wonder whether BestTech has filed for a patent for that, a ball on the back lock
Does the tang have a detent hole or a shelf to make a clean-breaking, liner lock-like detent, or is the ball only there to reduce friction?
👊💪🤙🇺🇲
The finish on the blade looks a little too $20 Chyne easy Buck knife for
me though
