Amazing work! I noticed that on many of your videos you paint the cedar black before covering it. Is this some kind of special paint?
We stain the framing black so it disappears in between the gaps of the boards! Its just arbor coat from Benjamin Moore!

ive seen tape on the beams before, but why the mesh underlayment? Stopping bugs?
Yep! It's a screened in full porch, so this will stop the bugs from coming up from underneath. At least help, you know bugs are tricky! 🤣
All that and the house has vinyl siding.

Because it's a screened in porch! Nothing to insulate!
