Gr8 video man but is it safe to overclock a gpu that only gets power from the pci-e bracket? I’ve heard it’s unsafe but how high did you over lock it and what what’s the baseclock?
It's so odd that the cheapest 1050 ended up being the low profile one, I wish that was always the case, even when the pricing goes back to normal haha. Then we can roll out with cheaper slim prebuilt tower builds for even cheaper! Great build Matt, that CM case looks so sweet and provides a good balanced of form and function for a low price, can't wait to use mine!
What a mess of a market. A $500 pc and we can’t even get a 1050 ti in there anymore. These prices are absolutely stupid. A few months ago everyone was waiting for the crash and it never came. Even those inflated prices seem like amazing deals now.
Jose Ahumada I won't forget ram prices they were 50 after inflation then I decided to wait for it to drop to 30 dollars again And now it is 92 dollars for 8 gb
Right now, I would recommend to either build a PC with used parts or to buy a console, or if you have a little bit more money you could also buy a Prebuilt System
prebuilt systems are $h!t . my friends bought them selfs prebuit systems for $300 without gpus . didn't talk to them for a month after that because I told them that I can build them good pcs before they bought those .
GTX 780 gives you a gtx 1060 3gb performance for $130. A 500 watt psu is needed but consider that the price difference between a 400w and 500w is like $15
With $500, you can pick up an i5 3470 pre-built pc on eBay for around $120 (which is slightly faster than the ryzen 3 btw) and with $380 left, you can get something like a GTX 970 and a new PSU.
Hey Matt, I've been watching your videos for a little while now, maybe a little over 6 months. And I decided to try installing the free Windows 10 and it worked on my laptop and my PC!!!!!! Thank you so much!!!!!!! I now have a computer and laptop for school and for my mom!!!!!!! Plus, this video was pretty amazing! Please keep up the amazing work! I appreciate everything you do and have done. Much respect, Logyn.
I say wait until Feb 12th, buy the Ryzen 5 APU with vega 11 graphics... it is supposed to be on par with the 1030.Or, get any I5 or I7 used off lease pc with 8gb of ram for around 100$ and throw in a 1050 TI... Done!Still a great video, AMD is the way to go... I just can put in anything below a 1050TI if I am actually building a rig. Now I will buy and play on the Alienware alpha, the original ROG GR6 and GR8 all day long... but if I have to buy a card I cant see going below the 1050TI... yes, I paid 207$ for one, the 1060 was way out of the question!
Daniel Lotridge yeah it's like he said, the 1050 is just not future proof. It's good, but in 2 years you'll probably be stuck to medium -low graphics settings
I stick with GeForce because of some apps I use to link my NVidia shield portable... I am all in with team red on APU's and CPUs... I may need to educate myself on AMD gpus... I am a fam of low power stuff that gets power from the PCIE bus only.
It's my first desktop ever and the rx560 is super quiet temps are good and I get around 80 fps on fortnite on ultra with 8gb ram and gpu is 2 I would like nvidia but can't afford anything better until the prices drop
I hear ya... I have a 960 and a 1050TI ... I really prefer the low power quiet 1050TI... honestly I may wait and see what desktop apu amd comes out with after the ryzen3 and 5 on February 12th... if they come out with a 7 with vega 13 graphics I may never buy another GPU ever.
Hey Matt...I just built a PC with and i3 6100, RX 480 8gb, 16gb PNY DDR4 2400 Ram and GTA does not runs as well as your build on the same settings, I can't believe that maybe it's the CPU?
Lowest priced 1050 ti on amazon or newegg right now is $220($90 more than the 1050 used) No amount of cutting in other areas would have allowed for a 1050 ti to fit in the budget.
Right now, with the new prices, I consider that getting a console would benefit you over buying a performing PC. Just wait at least 2 months, and buy parts overtime, if you're still willing to make a PC. Ryzen is definitely the way to go.
I tried my best to built my first PC for a low budget, It consists of an i5-3470, 8GB DDR3-1333MHz and a MSI B75MA-E33 mainboard, the same HDD as in the video, without a drive or SSD. The only problem is that I'm desperately trying to get a cheap and good graphics card and bought a R9 270X, which is older but faster than a GTX 1050. But this one has a broken fan and goes back to the buyer, I had already borrowed a 3GB GTX 1060, but I realize that my system just is not really suitable for modern games and so i still play games on my PS4.
That part in the intro got me thinking ... (Give heart if you find it interesting or ignore) Rising prices of RAM and GPUs is benefiting the manufactures of the respective components and its vendors AND now that you've highlighted it .... The console manufacturer. Increase in affordability of consoles is boosting their revenue generation, and investing in this conspiracy of capping the flow of RAM and GPUs can help them even more. In conclusion - Manufacturer, Vendors and other console manufacturer are plotting against us, and we cannot do anything. Sad enough.
yes the whole point is higher resolutions the xbox one x plays at higher than 1080p or up depending on preference of 60fps or 30fps you should try pitting it against the one x in that way
Nice build and I wish I can throw money into a new rig but hell to the power of no to infinity. Prices are ridiculous. Many are doing what I did a few years ago. Looking at craigslist type of sites for used parts or garage sales. My old used 4970k +480 gpu and 8 of ram is still kicking @$$ today lol ...any suggestions on how to shrink my pc. My mother board is that msi krait edition ugly thing and I want to shrink my pc into a mini itx ..any suggestions on a good mini itx case and MB+PSU combo?? have about $200 to spare , I have everything else lol
you could also try 500 dollar used hardware build and compare the performance to this one? Im thinking sandy/ivy 4/8 i7, mobo and ram 8gb - prob less than 200 (at least where i am), 100 case and power, hdd, then you have 200 for a used GPU - you could def get something faster than a 1050ti in the used market
Jordan Epstein my mom told me i can get one by my bday. I already got the pc building plan and heres the specs: Intel Q8200 Quad Core CPU @ 3.30 ghz 4 GB Ram HD 7570 1GB
Dunne. You don't want 4gb or ram, if you have 4 dimm slots chuck in 2 x 1gb sticks to boost it to 6gb or 2 x 2gb sticks for 8gb, also go and buy an e5430 off of AliExpress for $10, I have the e5420, and they're killer for the price! But you will have to cut some things on your motherboard.
Can i upgrade to a powerful ryzen processor and the gpu if i want to upgrade in the future? R3 1200 upgraded to R5 1600 Gtx 1050 upgraded to Gtx 1060 6GB
Matt, I wanna get this case but how's the temps? Lots of mixed opinions out there, mostly the bad outweighing the good (bad/poor air inflow from the front)
by how much did you overclock the processor I am thinking of picking up this motherboard so if you tell me what the Ryzen 3 was stable at and what voltage
You can have 100 CPUs, and all of them are going to be different. You can't just put someone else's setting on your CPU, that's not how it works. You need to learn how to overclock correctly, its not copy and paste. Here is a great setting -> 1.96v with base clockspeed of 129.79MHz with a 45.5X multiplier. If you try to run that, congratulations, you just fried and killed everything. However, that's what you should go for if you want to set benchmark records (but don't, because you don't know what you are doing).
How good is an i5 4460 in 2018? I currently have an i3 4130, 12gb DDR3 Ram, and a GTX 1060 3GB. Due to ram prices I am stuck on the LGA 1150 chipset. I have the Noctua low profile CPU cooler, a 650 watt PSU, and an SSD+HDD storage combo. Would an i5 4460 be fine for my GTX 1060? Currently playing games like Assassin's Creed: Origins and Battlefield 1 at 1080p.
now that sounds really good. if you can, buy it. you need it for your games running smoothly. try first without overclocking and if you need then overclock
I will have to save up for a bit and wait cause I don't have the funds but in a couple of months I should be able to afford it. Do you think the Noctua low profile CPU cooler will be strong enough to keep it cool? Otherwise I was thinking of upgrading to a cooler master AIO that was released in CES 2018. I have a 650 watt power supply so I think that should be enough power to overclock.
Noctua NH-L9i or NH-L9x65? if it is NH-L9i you can run 4690K but that cooler dont have any overclocking room left so better cooler is good to have. and your PSU is perfect. (edit) I cheked up NH-L9i TDP and i5 4690K TDP is higher than NH-L9i max cooling TDP. noctua.at/en/nh_l9i_tdp_guidelines you did say that you can overclock so you can also underclock your cpu. for example I have i7 4790K and I can use 4GHz with only 1V core voltage and this is in real life situation. underclocking will lower cpu temps. ofcourse not every single cpu performs same way so you need to find yours when it is time to do it.
I recently built my pc with i3 7100, 8gb ram, gtx 1050 If I happen to have the budget for a single upgrade which should I upgrade first? I always wanted to get the 1050ti but had to give it up before. Now I'm thinking should I go for it or now or not yet? Maybe perhaphs go and get more ram or an i5 first? Does an i5 really make a noticeable difference in this case? I do video editing and a bit of gaming. :) TIA!
Nice, my pc is very similar to this one including the case although I did get a 1050 ti before prices got insane. Your linked video about Win10 has an issue for people running Linux as the page redirects you away since it says the Win10 Creation tool can't be run. Simply put, if you are running Linux, you don't have access to the Creation tool. How about a video for Linux folks on how to get Win10? Thanks and keep up the great videos.
Even a vanilla gtx 1050 does 60 on pubg thanks to that ryzen cpu while a Xbox one x has the better gpu (rx580 equivalent) and it only gets 15 to 30 if your lucky thanks to the one x having a tablet cpu.
In my country, this build goes at ~$601.32 (depends on currency trading) while I found a Xbox One X on sale for ~$576.65. I wish I lived in the US where PC parts are so cheap (cheap as of today's standards).
PC can do solid 60 fps and above in all games, it has free online, steam, mods, etc. even the 60 solid fps in all games worth more than $500(normal price. not the inflated ones) = one x price. PC is like a luxury supercar while one x is a regular/normal car
I recentley built a system similar to this for £500 with 4gb of DDR4 (already purchased the 2nd stick just an order malfunction) but with 4gb of RAM and a 1050ti i maintained a solid 60fps with no stutter on PubG. But i recentley put a fan led onto the CMos Jumper and killed my motherboard when i was installing a case fan haha. It's my first time building one so i aint to annoyed but i felt silly.
4K! 4K! 4K! And just remember that you are free to upgrade your pc for $60 each year, and the extra benefits of a PC, not to forget the 7000 more games, idk its a pretty hard choice don't you think??
i think ryzen 3 1200 price will be less then 99 usd, here in India their price have decreased by approx 15%...nd 1050ti performs 10% better then a 1050 because it has 10% more cuda cores..
Guys GPUs are way expensive in aus atm.Should have bought a GTX 660 1/3 the power as your system is already power hungry. Also 1.5gb vs 2gb unless you got the 3gb version.People tend to forget about power consumption.Which equals more heat.
There is always hope and a way.. Just stop complaining and blaming miners, it is not the end of the world! There are other things to spend money on and do in life.. Many gpu's for around $100 (used and new) work fine at 1080p medium in most games, you don't need a 1080ti or a +8 core cpu..
If you had actually price hunted like you said you didnt i believe. You coulda built a better pc to see a decent match up. Ive seen a video on here of someone doing a 4k gaming machine for 750. So you could prob easily beat the xbox one x at 500 if you actually tried.
Misakii PUBG is the only choppy game for the X, most of the time it is above 30. Tested with my laptop at a friend's house. It runs AC Origins at around 40FPS, So now it is really really hard to get a new PC for 500 bucks that runs Origins at 40 FPS let's say medium settings at 4K
FMJ Get me a PC that can do that, with no shadows and aa and low settings, for 500 bucks new, I ain't saying that Xbox is like the be all end all but i'am saying it is a really good system for its good price
Its not 4k. Even my Titan Xp can't do 4k all that amazing. Its upscaling and rendering tricks, but then again you could just run 1080p upscaled on your 4k monitor if we are comparing cheating like render scaling. The new consoles are ok for the ridiculous prices on GPUs right now, but you can still beat it if you use used PC parts. I just wouldn't blindly hand over console subscription fees, and if you play many games, Steam sales may very well save you enough money to make PC significantly cheaper. (I don't spend much on games though). They are like 2 different things. PC can do anything (not just gaming), its upgradeable, and you can have it set for high FPS or high quality, you get to choose. Console is for multi-player split-screen, convenience, and as simple as possible (though annoyingly so). They are just different.
But why didn't you deal hunt? I am afraid videos like this will confuse people into believing that, for $500, you have to get the x for a better experience, which is obviously not the case.
Hey guys, I made a follow up video where I pit this PC up against some 4K gaming. You can check it out here: ruclips.net/video/a94eqGTswHE/видео.html

Nerd on a Budget So you're building a small compact pc ?
What a mess of a market. A $500 pc and we can’t even get a 1050 ti in there anymore. These prices are absolutely stupid. A few months ago everyone was waiting for the crash and it never came. Even those inflated prices seem like amazing deals now.

console gaming FTW :(
im gonna buy a 1050 ti for 170 $ im tired of waiting and im not paying 150$ for a 1050
THEwed123wet if you can find a 1050ti for $170 PLEASE link it.
more than graphics cards, ram prices are absolute nuts.

you used to be able to buy a gtx 1050ti for $120 at some point .

With $500, you can pick up an i5 3470 pre-built pc on eBay for around $120 (which is slightly faster than the ryzen 3 btw) and with $380 left, you can get something like a GTX 970 and a new PSU.

You didn't list the ram! (edit) I mean you didn't put link in description.
Hey Matt, another great build! I KNEW I should have picked up that case when I saw it go on sale.
Zach Ferree You slow boy?
Wow, the performance was surprisingly good for the gtx 1050, even though there were some tweaks to the game settings!
Your narration is pretty smooth & relaxing to listen...Nice job....
Honestly I'm glad I built my pc when I did. The prices for graphics cards and ram were a bit high but it was much better than what it is today.
I say wait until Feb 12th, buy the Ryzen 5 APU with vega 11 graphics... it is supposed to be on par with the 1030.Or, get any I5 or I7 used off lease pc with 8gb of ram for around 100$ and throw in a 1050 TI... Daniel Lotridge yeah it's like he said, the 1050 is just not future proof. It's good, but in 2 years you'll probably be stuck to medium -low graphics settings
Daniel Lotridge rx560 is solid too and cheaper
I stick with GeForce because of some apps I use to link my NVidia shield portable... I am all in with team red on APU's and CPUs... I may need to educate myself on AMD gpus... I am a fam of low power stuff that gets power from the PCIE bus only.
It's my first desktop ever and the rx560 is super quiet temps are good and I get around 80 fps on fortnite on ultra with 8gb ram and gpu is 2 I would like nvidia but can't afford anything better until the prices drop
I hear ya... I have a 960 and a 1050TI ... I really prefer the low power quiet 1050TI... honestly I may wait and see what desktop apu amd comes out with after the ryzen3 and 5 on February 12th... if they come out with a 7 with vega 13 graphics I may never buy another GPU ever.
what about new ryzen apu's..?
on par with a gt1030 looks like
Great Vid. I remember trying to look for a gtx 1060, but it was too late and the cheapest one was around $350 and now even more😟😟
I can see your *Bright Future*
the r3 and 1050 would make a great budget combo! great vid!
Hey Matt...I just built a PC with and i3 6100, RX 480 8gb, 16gb PNY DDR4 2400 Ram and GTA does not runs as well as your build on the same settings, I can't believe that maybe it's the CPU?
It's a CPU bottleneck. Core i3 is a 2C 4T CPU whereas a Ryzen 3 1200 is a 4C 4T processor. Remember 2 cores make a huge difference especially in GTA 5
Yadiel Perez upgrade your processor to i5
Its a dual core aint it?
Get an i7 2400/2500/2600k it will be an extremely fine budget cpu(get it used)
That's a CPU bottleneck. A Skylake i5 (such as an i5-6400) would be closer to equivalent to the Ryzen 3, as Ryzen starts at a Quad-Core.
Found a Palit kalmX 150ti on MSRP last week, fast, 0db gaming. Looks good bare metal under LED glow
1050ti and no case instead
Lowest priced 1050 ti on amazon or newegg right now is $220($90 more than the 1050 used) No amount of cutting in other areas would have allowed for a 1050 ti to fit in the budget.
Lovin these builds matt!

bro should i go for intel Pentium g4560 and 1050 ti or this amd cpu in the video and 1050 ti i can get part in cheap in india and Awesome bro
TechXtreme AMD CPU
Mousy. thanks
TechXtreme The Ryzen 3 is obviously better but if you’re on a budget go for the G4560.
I tried my best to built my first PC for a low budget, It consists of an i5-3470, 8GB DDR3-1333MHz and a MSI B75MA-E33 mainboard, the same HDD as in the video, without a drive or SSD. yes the whole point is higher resolutions the xbox one x plays at higher than 1080p or up depending on preference of 60fps or 30fps you should try pitting it against the one x in that way
You gave to me the hope to build gaming
What software do you use for FPS, ram usage, and cpu stats to be displayed in-game like that?
MSI afterburner with riva tuner. here's a good video on the topic: ruclips.net/video/kw72qy1Rc6o/видео.html

lmao i cant even get a $100 pc.
Dunne. I know that feeling bro
I just made one for a friend for $115 with a 750ti and i3 3220.
But I'm sorry to hear man, it's tough rn
Jordan Epstein my mom told me i can get one by my bday. I already got the pc building plan and heres the specs:
Intel Q8200 Quad Core CPU @ 3.30 ghz
4 GB Ram
HD 7570 1GB

One more thing, can you review the cougar cx330? I saw it’s on sale for 20-30$ on pcpartpicker
Just buy a pre build it will be cheaper
No

well it's a lot better than your i3. but it will still be your pc system bottleneck. if you can find/afford go for i5 4590/4670/4690
Mr.Haaska I can get an I5 4690k from a PC store for 120 pounds. Should I get that instead and overclock it?

It's crazy to think you can build a pc for the same price better than this in 2019. PC MASTER RACE IS GREAT!
What music did you use Matt? I am a young RUclipsr with a passion for tech and would like to use it in my videos.
what app did u use to show fps???
What did you OC the CPU and GPU to . Thanks :)
TassadarGR Also you get the luxury of mouse and keyboard and if your into it you can hack games..
Amazing video!
I'm going to build my own pc soon what should I buy I have a budget of £650
1060 3gb and r5 1400 its a good combination and u won't need to upgrade for a while
What monitor is that?
what monitor and keyboard are you using?
Can you help me find parts for a budget editing pc that I can get for around 400-500USD? I’ll put a graphics card in it later.
ryzen 5 and b350 MOBO.16GB ram.SSD of sorts.That will be perfect for editing.DEFINITELY the ryzen 5.
Where's the Blu Ray player!?
roshun eppenger he's trying to save money and a Blu ray reader isn't really needed. You could add one in pretty easily if needed
how much fps in fortnite? low and medium?
does that motherboard works with a ryzen 5 1600?
like he said, everything up to a ryzen 7
want a challenge ? review the case !
What monitor is he using in the video?
Nice video as usual, but the price limit really wasn't fair to the Xbox x because the controller alone goes for over $50
Yea do that 4k benchmarks!
Does this casing have leds in it
Muhammad Azmat no
Muhammad Azmat
If you want RGB LEDS, you can buy one for around 5-10-ish Dollars.
I just got a pc with i3-8100+h110(Special Bios) 8G DDR3 1060 6GB 120GB SSD for like 430 bucks..........all new except for the GPU.
Right now even a console would be a bad idea, new ones are soon to come out
are you having a cracked version of overwatch game or purchased one dude??? How to get free crack game of overwatch dude
Awesome Tech it’s called go to blizzard’s website and buy it.
EvilTurkeySlices I want a cracked game for free dude...how to get it dude???
Did you link the right psu ?
now, thanks to you, i am running pubg at 1080p medium at 60 - 80fps :))
7th, true loyalty my dude!!
which keyboards bro plz reply
I have the same specs on my alt computer but I just use it to bot but my other pc is my gaming pc
But you should to test with 4K because xbox one X has 4K on overwatch, pubg
My game PC costed me 400 bucks and it has almost everything new including a 1050ti 4gb, ssd and hdd
4K! 4K! 4K! And just remember that you are free to upgrade your pc for $60 each year, and the extra benefits of a PC, not to forget the 7000 more games, idk its a pretty hard choice don't you think??
What can u get with an Xbox
Wait, is the "Case Used"?
i think ryzen 3 1200 price will be less then 99 usd, here in India their price have decreased by approx 15%...nd 1050ti performs 10% better then a 1050 because it has 10% more cuda cores..
Yeah we want video about 4k !!
that sucks that you couldn't find a 1050 ti under 200. I just got one a month ago and it was at 160
Aliexpress PC build $300 AUD
Intel Xeon 6core 12thread
LGA 1366 itx Chinese board
8gb ecc 1866 ddr3
Gtx 580
PCI wireless card
32gb ssd
600w
Cheap tower cooler for cpu
Cheapest price to performance card man 680 will cost me about $120 not worth it
Also a 1tb HDD forgot that lol
Guys GPUs are way expensive in aus atm.Should have bought a GTX 660 1/3 the power as your system is already power hungry. Also 1.5gb vs 2gb unless you got the 3gb version.People tend to forget about power consumption.Which equals more heat.
Aussie Guy 3gb version it's only temporary saving for a 1070 also the 580 was $50
Taha Tech my old build had a 780ti I picked up for $150 580 good value
This is way better than XB1X which struggles to maintain 30 FPS in PUBG.
4K please :)
better to pick b350 from biostar
where ram link
nice mate
There is always hope and a way..
Just stop complaining and blaming miners, it is not the end of the world!
There are other things to spend money on and do in life..
Many gpu's for around $100 (used and new) work fine at 1080p medium in most games, you don't need a 1080ti or a +8 core cpu..
Why not? 4k let's see how it performs
If you had actually price hunted like you said you didnt i believe. You coulda built a better pc to see a decent match up. Ive seen a video on here of someone doing a 4k gaming machine for 750. So you could prob easily beat the xbox one x at 500 if you actually tried.
i can't even find pc parts.. sticking to my gamecast instead
xbox one X run 4k but at what fps? 20fps? sure it runs, but still choppy.
although inflated gpu prices dont help the pc at all(captain obvious here)
Misakii PUBG is the only choppy game for the X, most of the time it is above 30. Tested with my laptop at a friend's house. It runs AC Origins at around 40FPS, So now it is really really hard to get a new PC for 500 bucks that runs Origins at 40 FPS let's say medium settings at 4K
ZER0 Z0D yea with shadows off, no aa, low ass textures
FMJ Get me a PC that can do that, with no shadows and aa and low settings, for 500 bucks new, I ain't saying that Xbox is like the be all end all but i'am saying it is a really good system for its good price
Way back when prices were normal, beating the xbox one x would be easy with a rx 470.
Prices changed again, now its 600+
How can you play with so much glare. Cover the windows my dude
Good video, but just PLEASE use some other background music...
Impressive
Pubg isn't super optimizing either.
I'm not a console gamer but the Xbox one X does 4K so if your not to serious about the PC master race I'd say get Xbox one X and game.
Thank u friend ॐ
But why didn't you deal hunt? I am afraid videos like this will confuse people into believing that, for $500, you have to get the x for a better experience, which is obviously not the case.
Redgle i can see why no deal hunt because it's simply unrealistic for an average consumer.
Do it
