    Been looking for a machine that I will only use maybe 2 or 3 times a year for PR events and home shows, and I think this video helped me decide which one to go with, thank you

    have never had an ice shaver, do the blades break in a way where pieces could end up in the snow?

    • @ScoMoBiz
      @ScoMoBiz  Год назад +1

      Nope. They need to be shaprened from time to time, but that;'s easy to do

    Thank you for the very informative comparison.
    I've seen some new machines pop up on Asian sites that uses a liquid that flash freezes on a roller before hitting the razor. Do you have any experience with that kind of machine?

    HOW DO YOU GET THE ICE TO BALANCE

  • @Hudsonc19

    Hey, I just purchased a machine. I love shaved ice and one of my favorite places uses Real fruit concentrates with 100% cane sugar and no corn syrup. I’m waiting to either source something similar or make my own concentrates. Do you have any recommendations?

  • @xtremeclean9049
    @xtremeclean9049 8 месяцев назад +2

    I’ve used both and the Swan is definitely a better machine. But for the money the snow cub can’t be beat. It needs a foot switch though. Mine didn’t come with on, but I’m sure they are available somewhere.

    hi, may I know if I use the pure ice (water only), will it come out as the feather shape as shown? Or should I add sugar to prevent it becoming crunch shape. Thanks !

    Hi Scott. The Swan has an ice pressure adjustment screw on the front. Does the Snow Cub have a pressure adjustment? I see a "slot" below the handle on the Snow Cub. What is that for?

    • @ScoMoBiz
      @ScoMoBiz  Год назад +2

      No, snow cub does not

  • @MzSoFancyDavis
    @MzSoFancyDavis Год назад +2

    Do you use a generator with the snow cub. I bought one and it shut down during an event. Lost so much revenue. I have the paragon boxed style machine.

      Was it the generator?

    • @mbbarajas
      @mbbarajas 6 месяцев назад

      If it shut down on you it's a power issue. Too many things running off of one generator. So you either need to unplug things and only run the shaver or you'll need a bigger generator

    Hi Scott my 11 yo is interested in starting up a business. If we buy snowcub, where do u buy ice? And buy flavors? Thx for ur help

    • @ScoMoBiz
      @ScoMoBiz  Год назад +1

      For the snowcub, you'll need ice blocks. Many lock ice vendors sell it. If you can't find any through them, then you can freeze your own.
      Tons of places for flavors. Personally I really like Ralphs. But you may be able to buy some pre-made flavor from a local restaurant store.

    I thought the snow cub isnt NSF approved!!!???

    • @benrichards9667
      @benrichards9667 Год назад

      IKR? My local city doesn't even know what that means. So I have no idea if I must have NSF or not. 😡 $2K isn't cheap. Even if I went with the cheap model, so what if it breaks in 6 months. They only $200. I can buy 10 of them! That's 5 years worth of decent machine

    • @barrilove5615
      @barrilove5615 Год назад +3

      @@benrichards9667 you won't be able to sell them. Your license comes from your State of Agriculture. They inspect them. If it doesn't have the NSF engraved or sticker for that model. You can't sell. The problem is metal shards that come off the cheap products blades. And cancer materials plastics.

    I got the cheap one. It can do a school play day. I bought for just kids party's. But now there older. 10 years later. We used in cheer fundraising and even at a fair. No problems. It buy 10 $200 machines. I'd never get a swain design. Get the block ice style thats 2k and less ice problems

    Extremely deceptive video. Why? •note minuscule ice block on $200 machine vs HUGE block of ice on $2K machine. 🤔🤔🤔. 20LB $200 machine will shake / vibrate off counter in 3 secs. This guy is an obvious shill for cub. I’d never support his business as he’s inherently dishonest.

    • @ScoMoBiz
      @ScoMoBiz  9 месяцев назад

      lol ... I'm certainly not a shill for Cub ... or Swan for that matter. I have no relationship with either to them. I owned a Shaved Ice business for years and have personally made thousands of cups of shaved ice with both machines.
      Both machines fit about the same size block of ice (a 10lbs. block cut in half). It's the only way to use them.
