Another nice benefit of the flip bits over single single magnetic nut drivers is that they're much easier to clean metal shavings out of. If you do a bunch of self tapers into steel they can fill up with metal bits pretty quickly.
I have found the serrated set up very handy , for heavily overpainted fittings ! A real time saver ! Off topic , Whia has a cute little rendition of their Slimline 1KV rated tools ( Called the pocket max , basically a screwdriver handle with a magnetic cap that holds 4 of their slimline bits ( my 1 KV bit of choice ) . They aren’t out in the US/ Canada yet , they can be ordered from “ Mr. Worker” in Italy , a great site for hard to find Euro tools . The idea of insulated capability you can always have handy appeals to me , even for DC and low voltage stuff ! Blown traces on cct. Boards , and popped fuses can be a PITA ! Been there , done that , I don’t care for the T shirt !
Can confirm they nice. The toothed one is great with mastic tape
We're did you get it?
Those bits are called pookie busters. Theyre awesome for hvac
Great for metal roofing with both sizes!
Love ‘‘em for that!!
Check out the Klein 1/4 and 5/16 flip but. Has an added feature that lets you use it as a 1/4 but holder as well. They make a few different sizes
You should leave a link in the description. I would like the 1/4” and 5/8” ones the most
I’m a bid fan , Deffo . I need the Metric Malco ‘s , mainly for smart Ass points , bestest 10 mm socket on the site ! FYI
, their sheet metal tools are also top notch !
I could make very good use of that quarter by 5/16
You should really have a look at the LTT screwdriver.. I think it would fit your needs very well!
Hvac trade ... avaleable at almost all supply house. The long shank one stays on my dwalt impact
that thing with teeth is the last thing i need around my fingers grabbing my gloves haha breaking bones 💀
Don't wear gloves with rotating equipment. You either have the wrong tool for the job, or you are doing it wrong.
I've given my share of knuckle skin, it is better than a hand or an arm.
I love them
Dewalt makes a 3/8 and 7/16 flip bit. It looks pretty cool. I'm planning on buying one this weekend.
Nice! Let me know how you like it. I’ve not used the Dewalt versions other than their normal one size options
I have two of those in my truck. It comes in handy for larger packaged rooftop units. Carrier, York, Trane often have 3/8 & 7/16 on their equipment 30 tons and above.
Otherwise it usually stays in my bag
Yep, DeWalts set is cheaper than the malco too
Just ordered the 3/8 5/16 and it’s too bulky, hard to fit in tight spaces. Still nice to have though
The new ones are a great idea for eating thru duct sealer, but they break really easy.. and the regular ones can do it no problem with a little force. I wanted to like them but they suck. Malco reversables are the best for common hvac work tho hands down.. I use them every day. LOCAL 104 SMWIA
They make a 3/8 and 7/16 now too
Do they make them without the magnet?
The latter looks like they would work on those that are painted over hex screws.
Is it dirty or rusted?
Nice 👍
The one with teeth costs twice as much as the Midwest pookie buster. Somebody should do a comparison
Amazon is a bit on the insane side on the pricing right now. Not sure why. I believe I paid $15-17 for mine
@@MillisConstruction ok, thank you I'll have to check out Acme or one of the other places I shop.
You should do the comparison. I have never heard of either. But, I'm also not running a ton of screws these days.
The pookie.... lol
dewalt copied them. i've owned three of these malcos but they comes loose and end up losing them.
Are the Dewalts any good? I’ve not had a Malco ever get loose, their borderline too tight though I think. Sometimes I have to grab pliers to swap them the first few times
That's crazy because I've actually found myself cleaning and oiling the malco bits.
The DeWalts lose their magnets. It always seems to have been an issue.
I buy the pair because I like having the 3/8 and 7/16, And usually within a few weeks the quarter and 5/16 combo is magnet-less
I want those.................. to be metric 🙄
They actually do these in metric 😉
@@MillisConstruction they do?! 🤩🤩🤩 ohhhh I got a bad feeling in the wallet.... 😅😂
Bro… it’s 5 steens. Not 5 sixteenths. Get it right.
By the looks of the rust you don't actually use it
You should really have a look at the LTT screwdriver.. I think it would fit your needs very well!
