You may or may not be a musician so listen closely and you will hear 2 lead guitars the singer playing a strat which has a brighter sound and a les paul the 2nd picker. That has a fatter sound. The singer Hughie Thomason is a way under rated picker and my picker hero. But he is a true master of a stratocaster and has inspired me for 50 years. I’m 57 and started picking at the age of 5. I learned most every Skynyrd and Outlaws song. Take a second listen

Seen the Outlaws and Charlie Daniels in the mid to late 70's (those years were a blur, so I'm not sure of the dates lol) in Bloomington, MN. They brought the place down. I think this was the finale as Outlaws joined Charlie on stage for this song.

There is a modern group that has a blend of voices that can't be beat. It's Acapella (voices only) and this video has been seen over half a billion times. Please react to Pentatonix Hallelujah. You'll be glad you did.

This is new to me. I'm familar with a lot of 70's and 80's bands, so I get excited to learn about bands in these eras that I don't know. I enjoy watching you to react to songs I know, but I also like to listen to music I have never heard before. I see others are commenting about their version of "Ghost Riders In The Sky", which is a great song. I have listened to Mary Robbins and Johnny Cash's versions, so now I'm going to listen to theirs.

You got the consensus best song on the first reaction. They have a lot of good songs but this is the pinnacle (IMO) and it'll be hard to go further up from here. Not to ruin it for you ;-). Truly they have a whole bunch of great southern rock songs as long as you expect slightly different lanes and not quite this intense.

    Okay, I know you're a drummer... well I'm a bass player and played semi-professionally around 40 years.
Man, how would you like to have been setting in and playing on that song?! Lol That would have been a workout!
And I knew you were going to say something about the bass player before it even finished because he's phenomenal!
I know you had an album pic up there but I actually think that's from the live album called "The Outlaws: Bring Them Back Alive", which I have.
I've got the original album, the cassette, and later on the CD.
I was so impressed with that song and the bass playing in it that I actually sat down and learned the whole thing just for me. I never got to play it in a band but when I heard something like that I always sat down and learned it anyway.
What a great song! You're doing a great job man... keep it up!
