This is the INPUT_PULLUP version of the Big Button, so no external resistor are needed (less cost & soldering). Code conversion is possible, look into the code.

how does this compare to the version extralife made? I'm playing with the idea of building one of these as a euro module.

If I'm not wrong in the extralife hexdrum you can receive notes through the MIDI input but you can still add notes by the big button on top of it.
Here, in MIDI mode, the sequencer becomes a simple midi-to-trigger module and the big button part is bypassed, the button only works as an audition button

How did the schematics change

There are three main changes:
1) No external resistors needed, I'm using the internal arduino resistors
2) switch for mode selection added
3) midi in added

@@RobMurrudoes that mean I can totally disregard the 2k ohm resistors on the rotary switch on LMNCs layout

@@bloubear2557 No, the pullup resistors that you'll not need are the 10K ones connected to the momentary push buttons.
The 2K resistors connected to the rotary switch are needed as they turn the rotary switch into a "stepped potentiometer"
