  • Hedwig’s spring concert April 14 - 22 will debut SYZYGY, a new work by guest choreographer Mike Tyus, an award-winning dancer, choreographer, and creative director from Los Angeles California. SYZYGY is an examination of the alignment of opposing forces, three celestial bodies found in orbit, the pairing of chromosomes in the process of meiosis, the human psyche in a balancing act between the shadow, the persona, and the self. A conjunction that reminds us that all things are connected, bound to a universal dance that moves for a millennia and day.
Hedwig Dances’ spring concert will be staged in the theater at the Ruth Page Center, 1016 N. Dearborn, Chicago, IL. Evening shows take place on April 14, 15, 21 and 22 at 7:30 pm, with a matinee on Saturday, April 22 at 3:00 pm. The production will also include the US Premiere of META | MOR | PHOS-A Triadic Fiction. A post show reception with the artists will follow the opening night show. Tickets for opening night performance + post show wine reception with the dance artists available for $90 per person. Other ticket prices range from $15 - 30.
