I'll be honest, when I first saw the machine translated English, I was like "I've seen this kind of thing before." But then the voice actors actually spoke the machine translated English as if it were passable dialogue, and this is the funniest shit I've seen in a long time.
But that was expected and was not even weird remember when we go shit like escape from bug island or Disaster, those were things I was not ready for and they were amazing cause I had never seen anything like them before.
So i was planning to obey Mat and actually try to comprehend the story and then write a witty comment. But three minutes into the video and i already have to give up.
My theory: The game isn't set on earth, it's set on an alien planet in the future that humans have colonised, but humans are all cyborgs because that's the only way they can survive the gene rain. The gene rain corrupted the atmosphere and created mutant life forms to appear, which is why Wind towers are needed to generate wind... which helps people survive the gene rain. The bits with the old woman were in a virtual world, where people are trying to understand what happened in the past, where a black hole was used to destroy the aliens, but now a new problem has arisen where mutant humans created by the gene rain have formed their own brotherhood of evil because they're upset with the wind towers being destroyed and no-one knows why they did it. So the early gameplay segments are actually a flashback as to why the wind towers were destroyed. The wind towers were destroyed to kill the gene rain mutants and aliens, while humanity lives on as cyborg robots, but the robots that were deployed to stop the aliens also went rogue and now everyone is tied to being dependant on mechanical hearts to survive. This has lead to a human dictatorship where those who control energy and wind towers get to decide who lives and dies. Which is what the mutants are rebelling against. The mutants have taken control of the robots with their mutant gene rain powers, so now the cyborg humans have to fight the mutants and robots. I think that covers it

She has a mechanical heart linked to the Executor (the "child?"), and says this will be her final entry. *20AGR, May 13 (Fri)* : Executor kidnaps Emily (their first meeting). Executor says "the Wind Towers were extinguished 20 years ago (AKA year 0AGR)" and they want access to the Memory of Black Hole, as it leads to this year. *30AGR, Jan. 10 (Thu)* : Unknown man in suit walks through Emily's house and reads her diary. All two entries of it.

These voice actors... Like they're surprisingly good at speaking English and hiding whatever accent they have but there's some wack pronounciation and grammar sprinkled in there to make it really wierd.

*0AGR (After Gene Rain)* : Wind Towers extinguished, target point for Memory of Black Hole
*15AGR, May 13 (Fri)* : Emily writes in her diary that war is still ongoing, John is missing, and she noticed a "child" on the beach
*Unknown date (between 5/13/20AGR and 1/10/30AGR)* : Emily is in despair, John is still missing. She has a mechanical heart linked to the Executor (the "child?"), and says this will be her final entry.
*20AGR, May 13 (Fri)* : Executor kidnaps Emily (their first meeting). Executor says "the Wind Towers were extinguished 20 years ago (AKA year 0AGR)" and they want access to the Memory of Black Hole, as it leads to this year.
*30AGR, Jan. 10 (Thu)* : Unknown man in suit walks through Emily's house and reads her diary. All two entries of it.
And that's, 'The whole story.'
Spoiler for the ending: The guy just lets her go after she tells him everything he wants to know. Real upstanding guy.

personally, i'd love to know what the cyborg ghost person in the weird contraption is, but i get the feeling that the answer would be word salad.
I went through the entire video and made the best translation I could for all of the dialogue in the game. Perhaps it will help us gain a greater understanding.
Gene Rain:
Narration: Ancient beings buried undergroud by another race were discovered
on our planet.
Our greatest fears came true, these beings were cold and emotionless machines.
These machines brought our civilization to ruins.
Intro Combat:
Soldier 1: Sergeant! What should we do? The mortar fire has us pinned down and I can't
tell where it is coming from!
Sergeant: We need to push up to the right side of the gate. That's the only entrance
into the fortress!
Soldier 1: It seems the mortar fire is coming from beyond that gate.
Sergeant: Well we need to get in there then. The switch to open it must be around here
somewhere...
*Pulls lever (known as a putter)*
Soldier 1: What? A child?? Is he controlling the mortars?!
Sergeant: Keep it together soldier!
Soldier 1: Jesus! What is he doing?! Sergeant watch out!"

*Cut to Neil Breen walking up stairs, he enteres a room and picks up "Emily's diary"
the entry is dated Friday, May 13, 15 years before the "Gene Rain".
Emily narrates from diary entry: The wind towers have bee destroyed for many years. Despite
this there is no indication that the war will be coming to an end.
During a recent operation's beach landing soldiers witnessed what appeared to be a child
on the battlefield. This "child" appeared to have some manner of psychic powers and was somehow
controlling the mortarts that were firing upon our men. What could this "child" actually be?
*Cut to a flashback of younger Emily in the apartment writing in the diary. A strange box rests
on the table with what appears to be some manner of mechanical heart.*
I am afraid to make contact with the soldiers that have landed on the beach as I have found
myself somehow linked with these strange beings through a mechanical heart. I share my heart
with a creature know as the "executor". I fear that this link has compromised me as an asset.
Even now I can't think of what to do, all I can think of is to write this diary in hopes that it
is found an the information contained within may be helpful.
This mechanical heart sustains my life. I don't know how long it will last...Part of me wonders if
I should even bother to continue living like this? Perhaps it would be best if I died. John when are
you coming back? I'm afraid... This will be my last entry.
*Cut to Neil Breen Reading, Emily's narration continues as it appears there is an additional entry
despite the proclamation of the prior entry being the last.*
Emily: This all began 20 years after the "Gene Rain", this was when I met the executor for the first time...
*Cut to scene, title card: Kidnap(ed?) Friday, May 13, 2-0 years after "Gene Rain". A man sits on
a chair within a disheveled room. He has mechanical features but a human face. He is flanked by two
alien looking guards apparently mechanical in nature. One carries a body into frame (a similar soldier
uniform from those in the opening scene) and drops it to the floor. The man in the chair speaks*
Executor: Unforunately I cannot kill you. That bastard Bill Feynman made sure of that when he linked
us with this mechanical heart. However...I can kill everyone else around you. All you have to do is tell
me how you fools managed to destroy the wind towers 20 years ago.
Punished Emily:We desotryed those wind towers 20 years ago, what good would this information do for you now?
Executor: Cut the chatter! And tell me what you remember! Or would you rather I kill everyone here? Just because
you are too stubborn to tell me how you did it?
Punished Emily: Ok, please put down the gun...I will tell you what we did. *A mechanical soldier brings a black
box to Emily and she presses a button, fade to black.*
*Cut to a new scene, punished emily finds herself sitting in a different room. There are soldiers around her but
time appears to have stopped. There is a faint wave of energy indicating to the viewer this is likely a memory
that she has entered*
Punished Emily: What, where am I?
Unknown male voice: Emily? I've been waiting for you. I can't even remember how long it has been.
Punished Emily in dismay: "Who are you? Why were you waiting for me? Where am I???"
Unknown male voice: Forgive me, I am just excited to finally meet you. You can call me John,
I think that is the most appropriate name. I am the AI running your mechanical heart. Emily,
I need you to go out that door and down the hall quickly!
Punished Emily: Wait...I know this place. This is where they linked me to this mechanical heart.
Before you continue you better explain yourself clearly.
John: You have been linked to the executor through me. He will wake up soon. As far as where you are?
This place is not real, you need to go down to the hall and there you can access my systems.
Quickly, go down stairs! The executor will wake up any moment! Hurry!

Punished Emily: You are going to help me remember what happened with the "black hole" that
destroyed the wind towers, why are you doing this?
John: Dr. Bill Feyman, your father, created me for this purpose, I know you do not trust him but
right now there are more pressing matters. You need to find out who the executor is. To that end
remembering how you destroyed the wind towers is our best first move.
*Emily follows Johns instructions and walks into a purple colored portal that leads to what
appears to be the cast expanse of space. The scene fades to black*
*Cut to two soliders walking down a ravaged city scape. Some manner of crashed plane sits prominently
in frame. One soldier speaks*
Solider 1: According to the EM releases from the wind tower it's not far from our location.
Solider 2: Allright, well let's keep following that signal. I hope things stay as quiet as
they appear to be now...
Solider 1: Watch out! Pioneers! Where did they come from? Destroy them!
Soldier 2: See the mutants? The Pioneers must have been dispatched to wipe them out.
Watch out, a ground penetrator, we have more troops incoming!
*The soldiers clear the streets and pulled another putter to open a door leading to anothe area
riddled with derelict vehicles and small creatures*
Soldier 1: Look, swolllen scorpions. There are so many of them...
Soldier 2: Watch out! Grenadiers!
Soldier 1: I don't get it, there is so much more resistance at this location than the last one.
Soldier 2: Should we head left or go through the church?
Soldier 1: Let's head straight through the church.
Soldier 2: It looks like there's a person ahead.
Soldier 1: Let's check it out.
Soldier 2: He appears to be injured...
Dying Machine: Please kill me....they took my energy, it hurts so much.
Soldier 1: What happened here? Who did this to you?
Dying Machine: I was opearting outside of the approval of the congress. So they took my energy
to disable me.
Soldier 1: We will try and get you help.
Dying Machine: Ha, you're not the first ones to say they would help...
Soldier 2: How will we get him energy??
Soldier 1: Some of the machines around here must be carrying something that will help.
Soldier 2: More swollen scorpions!
Soldier 2: Watch out a UFO fighter! Take cover behind the pillars!
Soldier 1: Looks like it was carrying an energy source.
Soldier 2: Let's get back to that machine.
Soldier 1: Roger.
*After concluding the battle the soldier smake their way into a building, the scene fades to
black and we come back to the soldiers in a tunnel.*
Soldier 1: Li Ying, what's the situation?
Li Ying: It appears to congress has approved he resolutions. It would appear our mission is over
check the monitor on your arm.
*The scene cuts to several combat planes flying through the air and centers on a man at a potium
addressing a crowed with several large mechs behind him*
Man: This is the most important day since the dawn of our civilization. Our world is being
invaded. These invaders have dispatched "Death Squads" to assault large cities and military instalations.
Humanity has always persevered and continued to thrive through out our history. This event, this "Gene Rain",
has changed the course of our history. With our collective knoweldge and advancement as a specieces we
have the means to defeat this enemy. The Congress has declared a state of emergency and activated the
"Machinery Guard" in order to wipe out this invading force.
We urge everyone to remain calm and do not attempt to flee in the face of this danger. We gurantee the safety
of all of our people. Thank you.
*The scene cuts back to the two soldiers*
Soldier 1: An invasion...that explains why we encountered so much resistance... Perhaps we should rendevous at
headquarters?
Li Ying: Yes perhaps we should returned to headquarters then...
Soldier 1: Go on ahead, we have located the wind tower. We are going to deal with it and then meet you all back at
HQ.
Li Ying: Ok, I'll contact Emily.
Soldier 1: Roger.

*A brief glimpse of a figure behind the two soldiers fades in and out. They stop. *

The voice acting in this game is like those two foreign guys from Family Guy who've been living in the US almost long enough to sound American.
omg....in that first part of gameplay there fingers are nowhere near the triggers and when he is shooting you can see the model actively keeping his finger AWAY from the trigger

These voice actors... Like they're surprisingly good at speaking English and hiding whatever accent they have but there's some wack pronounciation and grammar sprinkled in there to make it really wierd.
according to the comments, they're based in hong kong, which means they probably speak a mixture of english and cantonese on a daily basis, so they would be pretty good at english generally.
it's unfortunate they used google translate for their script instead of hunting for an anglophone online to check their script.
