    Thank you for this brilliant tutorial in after effects. Me and my Dad have animated a character I drew and we didn't know where to start and now (thanks to you) he's walking across the screen. Please make that video about making characters speak. Noah age 10.

      Hi Noah and Luke! So awesome you got your character to walk! Nothing like bringing your character to life. And if you're still looking for a tute on making your character talking I just posted one a few weeks if you want to check it out. Thanks for watching!

    ur guy is not walking across the screen he is sliding, how do i make him walk?

    • @NickKhoo
      @NickKhoo  6 лет назад

      Ha! first person to realise this. Yup it's a fake walk. but to do it "properly" would take a bit more work and admittedly that is something outside my scope. You'd have to talk to a real animator for that ;)

  • @15edgarrangel
    @15edgarrangel 7 лет назад

    so i have 2 character for my animation how many different body parts should i make???? like 2 arms 3 arms, 2 legs or 3 legs and so on. I have a couple of facial expressions.

    • @NickKhoo
      @NickKhoo  6 лет назад +1

      I recommend at least these many parts:
      1. Head
      2. Torso with neck and pelvis
      3. Left bicep
      4. Left forearm
      5. Left hand
      6. Right bicep
      7. Right forearm
      8. Right hand
      9. Left thigh
      10. Left calf
      11. Left foot
      12. Right thigh
      13. Right calf
      14. Right foot

  • @mohdktln

    OK, I've done my walk cycle and its set up the way you showed which is perfect thank you very much.
    Now how can edit this walk cycle?
    Like I want the character to move 10 steps then turn its head take 5 steps then look forward again... or talk while walking..
    CUZ the way I see it now in the composition "walk cycle loop" I cant edit anything in the character but the "Transform" sub-options, I cant edit the legs or arms or anything else.

    • @NickKhoo
      @NickKhoo  7 лет назад

      Yes you are right. Sadly this tute doesn't cover anything more dynamic than the walk cycle. I guess I'll have to do another tute to cover how to get the character to act!

    • @NickKhoo
      @NickKhoo  7 лет назад +1

      I agree. But hopefully the only difference mostly is the control/cmd keys to get the things you need done. I'll try to keep this in mind for future tutes

    • @Madaspy
      @Madaspy 7 лет назад

      For AE Command and Control are the only differences. There are subtle Short cut key differences, but They mostly the ones that use the Mac Control Key, Which generally are only used in 3+key keyboard shortcuts..
