As a die hard Wild fan, I'm going to miss the Patrick Roy coached Avalanche team. They were almost always good for a "W" on the calendar with him behind their bench.
Shouldn't have been icing at all, Zucker was easily going to be the first player on the puck, so Varlamov did the right thing and went out of his net to play it.
NBC commentary for ya. It's nice to see players rushing to beat the icing. So rare these days. Reminds me of old time hockey. The harder you work, the luckier you get, the more you'll put in the net.
***** If there is one person from NBC that I can't stand the most, it's Pierre. He is the most obnoxious, self-important person I have ever listened to talk about hockey. If only local tv broadcasting teams could commentate games on NBC, they would see just how pathetic their viewership would be, due to the insufferable commentary those half-wits produce.
Couldn't have happened/the comeback to a more appropriate guy. Patrick. Kind of why he's not coaching anymore in the NHL...Wild ended his player career and basically his coaching career. SWEET
Zach parise is. My favorite player and I got to meet him at his house he is so good at hockey and is a great man and he never gives up even after taking hits
That wasn't Icing at all!! The commentator are rooting for Colorado and we can see this in this play, since Zucker would have been first on the puck...
I remember watching this game in Vista California in the shittiest little sports bar. Only hockey fan in the place, I was stationed at Camp Pendleton in the Marine Corps and I just remember losing my shit watching that game. Everybody looking at me like I was crazy while the Wild started teeing off. That was such a fun game to watch.
There's no way that should have been icing on the Nino goal! Zucker was easily gonna beat Johnson to the puck with the puck rappin around the boards and thats why Varlamov went out to play it. I love the Avalanche captains!! They really know how to lead a team to a lose. And it all starts with the coach. When Roy has a melt down and Landeskog's panties start getting really wet and then their captains start taking stupid penalties. But you gotta be careful with McLeod, he can really take a game over and put 3 in real quick haha!! Heads up Colorado, we're coming haha!!
Hockey really has the sickest comebacks ever. The best one I ever recall is when my 12 year old team came back from 3-0 to tie 3-3 with 33 seconds left. There are MANY games I can recall where it's like 3-2 or 2-1 with under a minute left, and the losing team comes back with 2 goals to win.
This video is like exhibit A for Roy in evaluating the core. Min 2nd Goal: Big hit by Landeskog then he fails to mark Parise in front of the net Min 3rd Goal: Maybe an icing but he waived it off fairly early so either Varly needs to play it better or Johnson needs to show that playoff hustle (empty net save a year or two ago?) and make big money play Min 4th Goal: Duchene gets completly outmuscled by Coyle and turns it over outside his blueline. He backchecks ok but doesn't take a man/stick/anything Min 5th Goal: Landeskog in the box Pretty much every prime time Av's player is involved somehow in each of these goals.
Holy..so much tentativeness coming from the crowd after the second Wild goal with their team still up by 2 and forcing a huge shift in the Wild end after the goal against. I blame the crowd for ice tilt lol.
I will add this to favorite Colorado game at the X. I was in 2nd row behind the penalty box and I am not sure who tried hitting it out of the zone, I had a maybe 20 foot close up view of Landeskog getting hit in the left cheek with the puck and he needed to go off for a bit. And yes they won the game. Seeing Tom Wilson get hit in the face with a puck would however, be cooler to see.
This was epic and I agree with everyone about the icing. That had to be one of the dumbest comments I've heard the NHL commentators make. Do they have any idea what icing is? Lol
What is this guy smoking? icing???? If you pause it when the goalie gets to the puck, and you will see clearly that if he didn't there is a Wild player right there next to the net. Icing my foot. (keeping it PG here) In fact the reason we got it is because Colorado was playing lazy hockey.
At first I thought this was a Wild victory, but then I realized they were really just breaking a bunch of rules that haven't been established to help the Aves win yet and were getting away with it
Shelby May because he scored the game winning goal in OT in game 7 of the first round of the playoffs a few years ago, knocking the Avs out after being heavily favored as the #2 seed. I on the other hand love 22, he became my favorite player in the NHL after he scored that goal. GO WILD
SG trickshot, you clearly don't know what game is being played in the clip. It was from 10/8/15. The playoffs weren't for 6 months, at which time the Wild never met the Avalanche in the playoffs. So, yeah. The Avalanche definitely didn't win "this" game, per your original comment.

+Patchy my vote would be milbury
3:18 "There was no way Eric Johnson could make a play on that puck" - yeah and Zucker could that's why it wasn't an icing.
Pierre, 2015
+th4970 that's how he was explaining it should be icing
Praise gets hit, gets up, and scores. True hockey player right there
Pucktalk with C and S very rare from American skaters
He’s a true hockey player. He has heart.
@@KerryParkIslanders-nq4rm you're joking right

That look on Roy's face is _priceless._
+maxcohen13 He's like "what ze fuck is appening ere?"
Also the little temper tantrum at 6:44 hahahahhahahahha
Little did both teams know, this opening night game would determine who got the last wildcard spot in the playoffs.
HOLY SHIT I JUST REALIZED THAT WHAT
Go Wild Go

What I don't understand is why we can't play this way in the playoffs
Cecil Meredith cause good teams in the playoffs
Because that is just how Minnesota sports work we choke when it matters most
Aric Stradtmann sadly true
Cecil Meredith right
You literally attempted the same in Game 6 vs Dallas that same season
when parise is healthy, hes a BEAST.
I love zack parise
*Zach
Zach Parise*
parise is awesome love u minnsota wild
After all the crap I had to endure being a Hawks fan in the 90's and so on, I love seeing Patrick Roy pissed off. Such a baby
TommyCage0736 nah that's just how goalies work
I remember this game like it was yesterday❤️💚❤️💚👌😍❤️💚❤️💚

Yup. Yet again the defense leaves me in tears on opening night.

Fitting that they play Cowboys from Hell by Pantera after the hat trick goal "we are taking over this town"
Shows you why the Wild will win a Stanley cup eventually!

I love the Minnesota wild
If Landeskog ever ate a crossbar and had to have dentures fitted, it would be justified
Absolutely awesome!
And now years later Parise has been signed by the Avalanche. Crazy how things come full circle.
Colorado fan think there better
Really the wild are better
I was at that game!
nice comeback damn
You'd think Patrick Roy would be used to Minnesota comeback wins...
I love Zach praise soooo muchh😄😃😀😅🥰😍
Let's Go Wild!
Do do do do do do

Who's watching the game tomorrow?
You’re blind if you think that was an icing
This was the biggest choke job in recent memory by the Avs. They deserved to lose this game after losing a 4-1 lead.
It wasn't a choke, they just fucking suck
Who else realized that Parise's goals what scored at 5:07 😳
hey gurl They announces because Minnesota scores 3 in such little time
Nono is tuff
Is that Chris Cuthbert?
+Stevo935 Ya
Lol Avs!
If there is a race for the puck on a potential icing if the goalie comes out and plays it before the players get to the hash mark that is not icing

Watch Vanek game tying goal closely. Looks to maybe have gone post post out never crossing the line.
Pominville made the Wild worse while he was in Minnesota.
