Does filtering off those lines not give you performance issues or check engine light? i've heard filtering off lines isn't really good to do on these cars because they're so sensitive.

The overboost issue was due to installing a large turbo on the 1.4. The E.C.M. is programmed by the factory to only allow a maximum of 25 p.s.i. of boost, and the engine is designed for that maximum amount of boost. Otherwise, intake and cylinder temperatures become an issue, and seals start blowing out. I also learned not to tune the 1.4 to produce over 240 horsepower. Otherwise, regardless of whether the car is equipped with the C635 DDCT or the full manual C635 transmission, the additional tourqe will cause those transmissions to fail far more quickly. Those transmissions are pretty weak (rated at a maximum of 260 ft lb of tourqe) and can't handle too much additional power going through it. Especially the DDCT. Those transmissisions are problematic and extremely expensive to repair. Unfortantally, nobody makes performance rebuild kits to strengthen these transmissions as of yet.
Whats the max hp I can gain on me 13 dodge dart 1.4 T
As of right now I have aftermarket turbo downpipe, obx exhaust, turbosmart 7psi wastegate, injen coil air intake, forge blow off valve with stock diverter, go pedal, aftermarket intercooler. Haven’t gotten a tune. Any recommendations. Euro compulsion tune shows I can make 221 hp with a big turbo and their tune recommendations. But how u say it can cause issues and more that’s what I’m worried about.
Also the eurocompulsion intercooler pipes.
@sergiocastro849 The 1.4 comes equipped with either the C635 full manual transmission or the C635 DDCT. Neither transmission is capable of handling over 260 ft lb of tourqe for very long. Both transmissions have hollow gear shafts to save on weight and manufacturing costs. The clutches can't even handle much power before slippage, and heat becomes an issue (especially with the DDCT). At least with the full manual, you can change the clutch to a stronger unit. But there isn't that option for the DDCT. Heat will quickly kill that transmission due to important sensors in the shift control unit being located at the top of the transmission. Not to mention that Darts have terrible engine bay ventilation to aid in cooling. Everybody that I know with it, either being a Dodge Dart, Jeep Renegade, or an Alfa Romeo 4C, has issues with that transmission. I wouldn't recommend tuning the engine over 240 horsepower. Otherwise, you're going to have transmission problems later on.
@sergiocastro849 The 1.4 with a full high-performance tune (in which internal engine components are replaced as well with the rev limit increased) can actually make up to 400 horsepower. A tuning shop in Italy actually achieved that with a Fiat 500 Abarth. But that car has the M32 6 speed. I see far fewer issues with the 6F24 Powertech transmission that's equipped on the 2.0 and 2.4L Tigershark engines. It's not made by Magneti Marelli (everything made by that parts supplier is garbage, in my opinion). It's a Hyundai transmission.
With the Eurocompusion tune, it should stay well within the safe zone, and you'll still feel the acceleration in the seat. Just don't go over 25 psi of boost. The engine straight from the factory just can't realistically handle it without internal modifications. The performance aftermarket seriously needs to jump at producing aftermarket high performance modification and rebuild kits for these transmissions to increase their durability. Hell, a kit that'll shorten the gear ratios in the 3rd and 4th gears would seriously help in these cars' acceleration ability. Both the C635 and C635 DDCT were actually designed for a 7th gear to be added!

awesome videos on all parts. I have a 2013 dart with the 1.4 turbo. the computer trick thing you had to use where did you get that? I have the same idea on upgrading my turbo as well. and also what's all those little filters for?

I have a 2014 Dart SE. it’s a 2.0L and I’ve been looking for a turbo that might fit. Everything I’ve found is either for the 1.4L dart or the 2.0L Neon. I saw this video and I’m wondering if you might know some better places to look. (Good video btw).

Road Race Motorsports makes a turbo kit for the dodge dart 2.0 and 2.4 liter. They cost about $4,300 for the manual, and $4,500 for automatic.

I have a Syked tune in it right now to eliminate the codes. Runs great otherwise. Still working on that over boost issue. I'll post an update video when its ready.
Your o2 sensor bank 2 plays a part in over boost as well..

How's this working for you? I've got the same setup. We must've done them about the same time.
Love how it drives! but, the computer meters the throttle when "over boosting" dropping my boost back down to about 15psi. so I can only go up to about 20% on my boost controller. I have Syked looking at my data logs now to correct the issue.

runs great until I get over 20 psi then boost drops suddenly and it falls on its face. Gotta do some data logging and a re tune I think.
Daniel Howard have you tried the HPSI stage 2 tune? It supposedly runs well with this upgrade.
I looked up the turbo and its $1495. Is the $1000 core charge added to the 1495 if you dont send it back or if you send it back do you get $1000 back?

What did you do with the factory diverter valve? Is it not throwing a code with it not plugged in? Also what tune?
I have a syked tune. before I installed the bigger turbo, I used the forge blow off valve kit that had an adapter. and with that plugged in I don't see a code

Chris Severs I love the syked tune. No codes, drives nice. Only thing is were re tuning now to remove the overboost protection. I got syked on it and when it's done I will post a nice video of the final product.

Have you got the dart running yet with the turbo upgrade ?
It runs great except the ECM sees too much air flow and starts closing the throttle when I boost over 15-20 lbs. we are working on a custom tune for it but that fiat system for the 1.4 T is complicated. not as easy as the NA engines. The current tune is smooth and I have no check engine lights and I never go into limp mode! Just gotta get the thing to let me boost up past 20 and I'll be happy.

you can do a swap without major modifications. just get the adapter for your stock blow off valve. You'll notice that there is less restriction at the turbo (better response) and it holds its boost better.

I dont know of a kit for that engine but if you were to find one, the tune would be much easier than on the 1.4T engines. most speed shops have the ability to custom tune the 2.0 ecm's

I recommend calling them to get a set of instructions to preview, and to see what kind of support they offer. But a "kit" will be way easier install than piecing it together from scratch. I see that they include the new tune as well so it should be a straight forward project. Let me know how it goes!
