I am not allergic to gold, but probably nickel. I got irritated by a necklace I wore in 2018 and it caused a rash on my chest. It comes and goes, so I might need to go to a dermatologist. I want it gone by the summer becuase I wear a lot of tank tops and dresses that expose my chest.
I am suuuper allergic to steel, I had reactions to my braces growing up so severe that you could see it on the outsides of my cheeks and the inside of my mouth is all scarred up even a decade later, I also had reactions to my old medical ID which was surgical grade steel, I can't even wear a steel ring for an hour without getting contact dermatitus. It's annoying as heck because it drives up the price of my jewelry and medical ID tags a ton!
Can I dip and seal my 14k white gold ring into platinum? I keep getting a rash on my finger after wearing it for just 1 day. They keep telling me that it’s from dirt and soap building up under my ring but i don’t even wear my ring when I was my hands. So I know I’m allergic to white gold. Can a jeweler seal my ring with platinum?
I ve become illergic to gold , before the years everything was ok .. my ears swell and painful 😣 with gold earrings , although I ve no complain with the artificial ... Plz tell me why it is so
It could be hormonal changes. I am more sensitive to jewelry after having my daughter. I don’t have issues with gold but other jewelry, yes. I refuse to wear Paparazzi jewelry. I start to itch and stuff. Hope this helps. 😊
Please help!! My helix was pierced with a sterling silver hoop and my ear is now swollen with little bumps and it’s super itchy. I took the piercing out but it’s still really bad😭😭
I wear gold, all day everyday. Yellow mainly , but also white and rose gold at times. I have never had an issue with wearing it, but I just had a patch test done for allergies and apparently I’m allergic to it. How is that even possible ?! They said I had an allergy to Goldsoddiumthiosulfate. Is it possible to have an allergy to this but not have contact dermatitis? I am devastated and in denial to be honest lol. But the area is still bubbled and highly irritated. I can’t understand why this would not have bothered my skin for the last 20+ years but the patch test shows otherwise. Any advice !?
I wish these issues were easier to address, but everyone is different. It may be a specific alloy that bothers you, but again, it is very hard to diagnose when allergies are involved. I hope you find an answer. Best of luck.
I recently found out I'm allergic to gold sodium thiosulfate too, and I'm also devastated as I can't wear any of my beautiful gold jewelry anymore 😭 However, I do not have an allergy to nickel and I don't react to my 10K jewelry, so I'm going to try wearing 10K jewelry only in hopes that I continue to not react
I’m allergic to all metal except surgical steel… It sucks because I’m a girl and I wanna wear jewelry but I can’t… i’m even getting a surgical steel engagement ring and wedding band so I know I’m definitely not allergic to it! I’m afraid in the future I’m going to need to get surgery with some kind of metal and I’ll be allergic to it… That’s scary to think of!
I’m allergic to surgical stainless steel. I’m not sure what else I’m allergic too. I tried changing to a 14kt gold jewelry and I hope I don’t get a reaction.
You cannot sell something as sterling silver if it has a plating on it nit sure wherevyour from but we have the sale of goods acts so if silver jewellery has rhodium its with say silver with rhodium plating it will not be sold as sterling silver and the marking or stamp will show that.
Not sure what you mean? His take, and the science is clear, copper is a heavily reactive metal and will irritate a lot people’s skin. That’s why he said purer gold is better for “allergies.” Copper reacts to the acids and oils naturally present on your skin and oxidizes. a lot people’s skin is irritated by those oxidants
As a nail tech I just have to say that this is a /horrible/ idea for people who are already allergy prone. Nail polish is made with acrylates (EMA and MMA) which are highly sensitizing and not intended to be skin-contact safe. Most of the retired techs I know retired due to developing chemical sensitivities to EMA or MMA and many even develop Multiple Chemical Sensitivity Disorder (a truly life-ruining disorder) from nail products. I myself have already developed severe allergies to my profession and I'm only still working as a nail tech today because I want to make back what I spent on beauty school. Most consumers are not at risk for this purely because they do not come into skin-contact with these products or inhale their fumes on a daily basis. So wearing nail polish directly against your skin on a regular basis is like asking for an allergy to develop.
Hlo sir..i buy necklace gold 24k..but aftr 2-3 dys iwear its itchy and more rushes around my neck...is it really gold or is it im just hv8ng a allergy or its jormal coz its my first time to wear..hope u answer...pls..tnx...tkcare and godbless

Cheap nickel jewelry always irritated my skin. Never had an issue with more expensive silver or gold alloys, unfortunately lol
Nickel… sad face. My skin is a painful nickel detector, and it’s in soo much stuff.
Please help!! My helix was pierced with a sterling silver hoop and my ear is now swollen with little bumps and it’s super itchy. I took the piercing out but it’s still really bad😭😭
I could be many things. You should probably see a doctor if it’s getting worse. I hope you find the right answer, but best not to take chances.
Hydrocortisone helps with the swelling and itch.
It's you get onions cover and make it hot 🔥 on fire and use that water cover that area for 5 minutes massage slowly u will thank me later

Did you find something to help this allergic reaction? I’m not having much luck with the topicals my Dr. has prescribed.

Platinum grate 950 is it same as the Platinum u are talking thanks
I am allergic to all kinds of metals. Even 18k gold causes me to feel nauseas. Only thing that I can wear without any issues is platinum and 24k gold.
My allergy is gold, not an alloy, yes patch tested, confirmed.
Platinum value? I need to sell a platinum ring.
I think theres different degrees in Stainless Steel. Im never allergic to 316L but maybe other Stainless Steel alloys
I'm allergic to all metals except gold 😞 can't wear jewellery more than 2-3 hrs. What should I do?
Platinum is technically the safest, but you really need to see a dermatologist to test and determine what may be best.
Look into niobium, if you haven't already. It work for my girlfriend who is also allergic to all metals.
sameee and it's such a shame cuz i love wearing colorful earings not just gold :'(
@@josiahvantassell hey! Could you tell me where she gets her niobium earrings I would love to get some.
@@js7328 I ordered wire from TheRingLord and made some jewelry, but you can find niobium jewelry on Etsy

You can wear beaded gemstone necklaces.
Wear platinum. I’m also allergic to pretty much everything but platinum is good to me.
I’m allergic to surgical stainless steel. I’m not sure what else I’m allergic too. I tried changing to a 14kt gold jewelry and I hope I don’t get a reaction.

I only wear 18ct solid gold !
What's your take on copper jewelry
I want to know that too

clear nail polish for rings and flat pieces, but not for chains.

I find that I am allergic to white gold
That's because it is silver dipped in rhodium there is no such thing as a metal that is white gold
Use silicone and coat all ur cheap jewerly with it. Find it in the hardware section.
I’ve never heard of this!!
I’m allergic to silicone
Im allergy to 18k gold and its so sad. 🥺😭
mene sells 24k
I’m also allergic to 18k gold too. Switched to platinum and have no issues. 24k gold should be ok too

Allegories are difficult. I always start with cleaning, but if that doesn't work it becomes process of elimination. best of luck.
Awesome
Good video! One tip is not to put your mic on your tie it looks kinda sloppy I think it would look better on your shirt
Their metals like coins in a purse or cans for soda
Get some hard as nails nail varnish and coat under the rim inside and out
Thought you're gonna talk how to get rid of the allergy and not how to "prevent" coz it was stated "what to do when u have"
Simple don’t use it🤣
