- A simple seat upgrade to the E85 Z4 to replace the tired deck chair like seats they come with as standard to something a little more sporty. Also the added bonus of them being heated which my car didn't come with as standard.

Just and FYI, I was going about my life today and came across this video. Now, 8 hours later, I've promised $200 for a set of E46 M3 seats with working heat and adjustments. Thanks for helping me deplete my account and upgrade my E85 Z4. Money well spent.
Nice. Has to be the best upgrade by far over the standard deckchairs. The m3 seats sit a little higher or lower than the seats I used. Can’t remember which but should be fine.

Hi, electric regulation works in your seats without any problems? I’ve got problem, because in my oe z4 seats there are 5 electric connections, in e46 seat there are only 3 electric connections. If i connect seat in car only front-rear regulation and pumping the lumbar works.
Did you find a difference in heights? I plan to buy a e86 without sport seats and i'd like to sit as low as standard z4 seat
I wld like to upgrade mine, I have the same except mine are heated but non electric, would E46 ones fit, mine is a 53 2.5
Did you have a problem with the airbag system? I did the exact same swap but have multiple airbag problems and an annoying airbag light that refuses to get off the dash.
It could be a few things. Try reusing your seatbelt pretensioners if you haven’t as the donor seats might have a triggered one. Also there’s a seat occupancy sensor that you can try your one from old seats instead of that doesn’t work. Short of that I’m not sure no issues a couple of years on for me.
Hi, I've not long bought an 03 z4 with manual non heated seats, id wondered about fitting heated ones so is it right that my car should have all the wiring in place to fit them, I take it yours worked OK? Cheers
Sorry for the late reply. Yeah all wiring should be present so pretty much just plug and play. My heaters work great. You may need to swap some other bits off your old seats so just make sure you keep occupancy sensors and so on just in case.

Just fitted M3 seats to my Z4 today...
I’d say they are better than nothing. But they do catch the belt the odd time if you lean forward as they pivot out. I think if you could find some that used both headrest holes so they couldn’t move that would probably be better

Correct. E46 msport seats. These were from a Coupe but the Saloon ones would work fine also.

Msport is just a trim level. These are Msport seats out of an Msport e46… The M seats out of the M3 are totally different yes.
Google E46 Msport seats they are identical. They came out of an E46 Msport. The M3 seats are different but an M3 is a model the Msport is just a trim level.

For the E46 there are 2 versions.
The standard flat and the sport.
You have the sport.
