Darts, javelin throwing (most track sports honestly), bowling, and golf are perfect examples of this. There is no defense its all about getting a high score. Gaming, nascar, chess, and curling, are more of a sport than golf.
What about marathons: shouldn't holding their bowels be mandatory for long distance runners? Consider: Instant disqualification for defecation maybe should be implemented; what sport lets their athletes shit themselves and continue competing against the clock in the midst of a crowd of participants? Isn't that a tripping hazard?
You want to casually stroll through a golf course, by all means; but no crying when you get lit up by a golf ball going 100mph. Plenty of places to walk with a far lesser chance of being struck by flying projectiles

Finally, someone said it. I barely know anything about golf and decided to take a walk nearby the course. And honestly, I didn't know what was the walking path in the park area and what was the golf course because it wasn't marked. There were no signs saying I should turn around. Most of the golfers didn't say anything, but one guy kindly offered to give me a ride to a safer spot, but also told me to leave, stating that it was unsafe because I could get hit in the head with a golf ball. But honestly, I think they just don't want people using their course who didn't pay the clubhouse like they did, even though there's no fence or markings to show where the course boundaries are. And if I want to risk getting hit in the head with a golf ball in order to take a scenic walk, that's my own business, thank you very much.
