    Renee', I know kitchen items are not your genre, but I gasped in awe when I saw an item you passed on. It was the large white enamel ware refrigerator pan with lid. I have not seen one like it before. I love old enamel ware items. The pan was probably worth alot. Or not. It was great to see you have the attic all to yourself. I hope your finds are as profitable as it was exciting and fun.

    Renee, when I was cleaning vintage quilts we inherited. J filled the bathtub with cold water and added a bit of oxyclean to the water. Swished it around and then added the items. I washed them one at a time of course and rinsed well. Laid them out to dry. I did everything this way from the 1880 wedding outfit, to red work quilts, to baby clothes. Nothing was ruined doing it this way. All my items we doated to the Riverside ., Ca. Museum. More recently, i washed in the machine a wedding dress from the bins! Line dried it and again no damage! Just do a small test where it is not noticeable. Someone also mentioned the yoyi quilt!

    • @PaperandMoose
      @PaperandMoose  Год назад +1

      I think that's what I'm going to do - I have a large sink basin, add some water and oxyclean. I was thinking of letting it soak overnight - would you recommend soaking that long or just a few hours? My main concern is getting out the smoke smell.

    • @denickite
      @denickite Год назад

      @@PaperandMoose I let the things that I had soak overnight and even redid the wster and oxyclean. I mentioned my jn-!aws saved everything. So, I had a lot of vintage clothing items from the old fashioned blue wool swim suit, quilts, the wedding outfit that also had the underwear lol crotchless bloomers, baby clothes, and even afternoon dresses. I washed everything this way. Did not ruin a thing. But test to make sure your colors don't run. How is the quilt tied? If wool that might be a problem and sometimes floss does run. The red work quilt I washed didnt but I have had cross stitch works run. So, go slowly. Good luck!

    Obviously this stuff was meant for you. I'm envious of the fun you'll have going through all those photos - including the yard-long - and a few letters. That coat looks like it could tell a lot of stories. And you can't help but be excited when someone else finds the stuff they love and are totally keyed up. Did you buy the fire hose? There are a lot of uses for them. Like ... um. Well ... er. Then there's ... well, it's a novelty and you'd be the only person on the block with one. At about 7:00 when you were checking out the suitcase it briefly looked to me like there was a woman sitting in a chair to your right, further away from the camera. In an old-fashioned outfit - white shawl and dress with a hat. Maybe she's your ephemera angel. Great video! So glad you found the things that love. Have a great day!

The fire house… regret that a little, sure I could have sold it at the flea market. But I’m glad I found the 1934 class photo! The one I have at home hanging up is from 1936, now to find 1935! I did take a look & it does look like that! (I think it's the way that I stacked my pile next to that large box, but I like thinking of it more like an ephemera angel!)

    Hi Re ee. The sale was fun. You had no one to bother you in the attic. That was so cool. I would love to see all the stuff you got from the sale. The shades were nice but a great set of them too. I am going to see the video again later. God Bless you and take care. Love you. Mari'a. 👍👍👍👍👍🤗🤗🤗🤗🤗🤗💃💃💃💃❤️❤️❤️❤️❤️❤️❤️❤️😘😘😀😘

      The shades were in great condition! I have found similar shades before, but usually they have a rip or are bent. These were perfect!

    A pickers dream-all the digging by yourself, finding things for your own collection and for resale - a win/win! So nice to see you so excited about all the things you found too!😊😊😊

    People use fire hoses for home decor. My cousin used his to create chair trim. It looks amazing. Great haul!
