This isn't what you wanted but its interesting all the same. This is the first episode created by one of our team members, Jamison Leahy. There may be some editing hiccups but since he's working with a really basic editing program i'm surprised that its this good. Anyway I hope you enjoy it and watch the rest of our team members grow in quality.
Chronicles I'd recommend your editor try davinchi resolve as it's free and a pretty capable editor (could almost replace premier for me it's that good), I would love to contribute in future to this channel but with collage I wouldn't be dependable so maby in a few years, good luck makeing more content for this channel:)
Davinci Resolve is editing software that needs a powerful computer behind it. I used my computer that was a couple years old, before I got my new ones, and I could barely even use it. We'll have to see. I've used the editor recently, I mostly used it as a colorist since there is no better software for it, and i'll say that Premiere is the better of the two. At least its not Final Cut or Avid Media Composer. Ones just a slightly updated iMovie and the other is only really needed for feature length movies as its too complicated otherwise. At least with Final Cut I can appreciate the new touch bar functionality I got with the new Macbook Pro. Still, we'll look into it.
Chronicles Ah that's fair enough, like if your using premier it is the best one in my view, but in farness davinchi isn't too bad for being free, if they optimise it and fill in a few gaps I could see it somewhat replacing premier in a few years time
It's a crying shame this game didn't sell well. I'm a massive smt and fe fan so the fact that the game sold poorly really breaks my heart. It was tied as my favriot game of 2016 which is a big deal when you consider final fantasy 15 was released last year. All in all just such a shame I hope they release it on switch and hopefully more people will get to see this superb game. The idol stuff isn't a big part of the game the games biggest strength is its combat and it's leveling systems it's character are really cool and it's style is so atlus. I'd recommend people try this out before p5 comes out a knocks everyone's socks off.
As someone who wasn't that well versed in either FE or SMT (more so), though thought the previews were interesting and wanting a JRPG on my Wii U, I went ahead and bought the game pretty soon after release. I definitely don't regret getting it. I find it really charming especially with the all the little details put in the game. Like Kingdom Hearts, which is one of my favorite franchises, it managed to make its own identity based on what I went back to see about both FE and SMT. Greatly enjoyed this game and find it a shame it didn't do very well.
I just It doesn't seem like a bad game but I can't wrap my head around the fact this is supposed to be a crossover lol...It could have easily been its own IP
What I moreso meant was, there wasn't really a need to have any relation to FE (idk about shin megami tensei enough to know if its similar or not, but this video WAS very informational xD)
I think the problem with this title is that it was advertised as a SMT x FE crossover, when they could only say that a team made Atlus and Intelligent systems members were working on it. This would have made people think that it was a complete new IP, instead of a clash between two different universes because, personally, when I saw the first videos that announced the game (back when it didn't even had a title during that nintendo direct), the last I thought is that I would be playing a game about idols with persona-esque mechanics. Most people wanted for iconic characters of both series to meet and tell a tale that would honor both of their legacies, by either implementing demons to the Fire Emblems lore, or adding characters that were relatives to the most famous characters. Of course, this would have meant that the game would not be able (or that it would be very difficult) to get a sequel, pretty much like what happened with the Phoenix Wright x Layton crossover, but it would have been faithful to the fan and the name that made everyone get interested in this collaboration.
As someone who originally had skepticism about their decisions for the idol theme, having put my opinions aside and actually play the game, Tokyo Mirage is definitely a "don't judge a book by it's cover" kind of game. It is a wonderful jrpg that the Wii U desperately needed. I hope someday they decide to port this, or even consider a sequel. Because on top of the controversy around it, the game was released on a dying console, late into it's cycle.
I'm not sure there ever was a point when the Wii U wasn't dying, early into the cycle or late. Other than that, I can only second the wish for a port since lack of a Wii U has prevented me from playing what seems to be a great game in its own right. Can't really comment on it being a collab without having played first tho.
I loved this game. I've only played SMT paringly but huge FE fan. This game was the perfect blend of both franchises. The music was stellar & the characters were memorable. Great video
Watching this made me realize how much work was put into TMS (though I'd be lying if I said both the original Pokemon crossover idea and the mid-stage "reincarnation" one didn't sound more appealing, IMO). I'm just shocked that they were seemingly so passionate about it-- many (me included) had already called it off as a failure the moment it popped up in the April 2015 Direct. Surely somebody on the inside had to have recognized the blunders they'd made when it came to appealing to fans of both series-- it took two infamously divided fanbases, pandered to the most divisive parts, and was put out on a console most of them didn't even own.

Great video guys. I had no idea the game was in development for that long! Surprised to hear that the SRPG idea didn't go through though, as Atlus do make their own (really good IMO) SRPG games in their Devil Survivor series. I really enjoyed the game myself, especially being both a FE and SMT fan. One of the few that didn't care about the censorship either. I felt the game was of a very consistent quality, always charming, always welcoming, always upbeat in its presentation and goings on. Very enjoyable dungeon crawling, even though the battle system could have really used a skip animation function :P Couple of frustrating dungeon puzzles but outside of that, every single aspect of the game was done well. It has an identity and heart that I won't be forgetting about anytime soon. In fact, when I saw the video title I felt a twinge of nostalgia, despite having only finished the game a few months ago.
Yes we know that. They literally said that something along the lines that since Atlus makes RPG's they should make RPG's. We're not putting words into their mouth or anything like that.
Chronicles Ah, apologies. That part of my comment was more a response to hearing that the game would have been Atlus' first go at the genre, despite their DS series being in that genre. I totally understand why they changed direction though, with RPGs being their forte. Thanks for the reply :)
I really hope Tokyo Mirage Sessions sees life on the Switch. I personally love and now have even more appreciation for it. The only problem I had was the fact it didn't have off-tv play and the gameplay mechanic was needlessly forced on the player.
Narlaw1199 I honestly think it would have sold better had it been on the PS4, or heck even the Vita or 3DS. The Wii U has never really been a system for RPG fans nor has it ever had an entry in either franchise on it. It's a shame that it had to be on the Wii U because of Nintendo's iron clutch on their IPs.
I'm hoping maybe we'll get a Switch version/remake at some point, maybe without the censorship too (a guy can dream). I think it'd sell a LOT better than it did on the Wii U.
And while they're at it, they should add an English dub option to the game for the Switch port! Casting ideas: Main Characters: -Itsuki: Robbie Daymond or Yuri Lowenthal -Tsubasa: Cristina Vee or Kira Buckland -Toma: Max Mittleman -Kiria: Erica Lindbeck (share a role with Yoshino Nanjo, who also voiced Eli from Love Live) -Ellie: Erika Harlacher -Mamori: Marieve Herrington -Yashiro: Todd Haberkorn or Steve Staley Mirages: -Chrom: Matthew Mercer (Duh!) -Caeda: Cherami Leigh (reprising from Fire Emblem Heroes) -Cain: Taliesin Jaffe (reprising from Fire Emblem Heroes) -Tharja: Stephanie Sheh (Duh!) -Virion: Jamison Price -Draug: Ben Pronsky -Navarre: Taliesin Jaffe (reprising from Fire Emblem Heroes) -Marth: Yuri Lowenthal (Duh!) Supporting Characters: -Barry Goodman: Patrick Seitz or Kaiji Tang -Maiko: Caitlin Glass, Laura Post or Michelle Ruff -Tiki: Mela Lee (Duh!)
Hey, it apparently sold to Nintendo's expectation in North America. I'm hoping that despite how it performed in its native Japan, we get a sequel. This video was done very well. If I may nitpick, Atlus USA localized the game, not Nintendo's Treehouse. Nintendo were the ones who ordered the changes, but Atlus's localized script it excellent. I really wish this had gotten a dub, because Atlus USA makes fantastic dubs.
Honestly, this game doesn't need a sequel unless they at least add more SMT or Fire Emblem characters from continents besides Archanea. As for the dub, while I normally like dubs, I feel like a dub would've been too awkward with the huge singing focus.
It's very common practice in dubbed anime and video games with an emphasis on singing to leave the songs in Japanese. It might seem strange to change all of the dialogue, but have the characters suddenly sing in another language in different voices, but it works. The 3DS game Stella Glow is a great example. And of course, the game would ideally be dual-audio.
I made my own TMS fan-fic. It takes place about 3, 4 years after the original, and it involves the characters of Fates and the Tellius games. All the royals are there starting with Hinoka and Camilla, joined by Ike, as Mirages, whose partners are a normal guy who is best friends with two polar opposite sisters. Did I forget to mention, it takes place in America? Hence why I wanted English voice acting.
Not to mention the title of the game is a combination of both Shin Megami Tensei and Fire Emblem. TMS #FE Tokyo Mirage Session - TMS - SMT - Shin Megami Tensei And does #FE need to be explained?
This is probably one of the more underrated games. To me it was much better than Fates in my opinion mainly because of the cast of Fire Emblem characters chosen. Battles felt like I was fighting in Persona while keeping the standard mechanics in a Fire Emblem game like the weapon triangle and flier weaknesses with bows and wind attacks. Even though sales were low it doesn't change the fact that this game is great. Story is standard but the characters and gameplay made the game better.
As a massive fan of both fire emblem and shin megami tensei I have no problem saying this isn't what I would have preferred from a cross over between these 2 series but it does it's weird premise with enough charm to pull me in. The fact that it also has some of the best battle mechanics and character customization in the smt franchise only makes things better
I'm happy you guys covered this game. It was a fun game in it's own right, and deserved it's time in the spot light. I know I'm happy I played it. It gets a bit more insults then it deserves because of it's subject matter and censorship.
The only thing that bothers me about this video is that Tokyo Mirage Sessions actually had a very good reception by critics worldwide - 82+ % on Gamerankings and 80% on Metacritic There were only a few websites that did not like it or gave it rather average reviews. I believe the reason why it did not sold well is because both Nintendo and Atlus, although making a good product, did not marketed it well. Maybe were they afraid that the game would be too niche or afraid of it being so different from both franchises that inspired it ? I think that was a mistake. This is a game that could easily find and audience among JRPG fans, specially Persona fans, it just needed to be market as a new franchise. I´m glad I bought and played it. Such an underrated WiiU gem.
I'm mostly waiting for a price drop for this game. I don't have a lot of money and I'm after a controller for my computer. It's of interest to me, in spite of its... censoring, which occasionally looks a little better. I'm sure THIS won't garner controversy.
It's localization barely affects the story and gameplay. it's story and gameplay are still great regardless. I really think the people who complained about the censorship were being unreasonable. Oh no bikinis or hot springs dlc alongside the characters being aged up and one chapter slightly altered. But I guess their outrage did one thing, make sure that there will never be a sequel to the game ever.
I loved this game, it's my favourite JRPG since the original Xenoblade Chronicles and my favourite RPG on the Wii U (not that there are many but I like it a lot more than Xenoblade X)
I commented this before but they literally said something along the lines that since Atlus makes RPG's they should make RPG's. We're not putting words into their mouth or anything like that.
I have ben dreaming about this game ever since it's released but i don't want to just buy a console to play one game only... I hope this will get a remake on the switch or somewhere else.. T.T
A lot of people who complain about TMS haven't even played the game. And the ones who /have,/ had their experience ruined by expectations. I paid over $60 for this game this summer and today i finally finished the final boss (after almost ten tries!) I drank deeply of this game, and completed all of the Side Stories. I enjoyed the game overall. I'm not gonna tell you i enjoyed every second of it, because i didn't. there were parts that frustrated me. But it's a good game and probably in my Top 10 Wii U list.
My biggest flaw with the game was the upgrade system. While the story and setting was new to me, it was still interesting. However the bad weapon system simply made the game feel like a grind. I often had to grind to get materials to upgrade weapons, and then it just felt like the weapon had only gotten stronger (increased damage), rather than better or unlocked cool skills. Then as I moved to the next area, the enemies were harder, and it just felt like I was in the last area with my previous weapon.
I really liked this game. On its own it's a lot of fun and well worth the price to me. With the Fire Emblem and SMT nods and references it's hard for a long time fan of the series like me not to get excited. I want to recommend it to everyone
11:11 "Tokyo Mirage Sessions' combat was imminently familiar to anyone who had played one of ATLUS's past titles." Wrong! Its combat is nothing at all like Jack Bros.'.
That nobody actually had a Wii U to play it on probably didn't help sales much. Any game on that platform was pretty much DOA by default. That's my case anyway, though I still really want to play it some time; maybe on an emulator when they can handle it and I finally have a decent PC.
I was interested in this game, especially after devouring persona 4 golden, not once, not twice, but three times in a row :P. But I didn't want to purchase a wii-u for this game alone... and the console didn't give me enough reasons to go on it... (FE is pretty much the only Nintendo franchise I follow religiously since awakening. Though I played path of radiance when a friend loaned me his game cube, I never bought one myself and kind of forgot the name of the franchise in the following years... until awakening that is.) the switch has caught my attention... a FE coming on it in the near future is already making me tempted to buy it... a port of this game on it would seal the deal for me :P
I still think that this game should have been a Strategy RPG. I mean, it's not as if Atlus hasnt worked on SRPGs before, seeing how polished the Devil Survivor games were. And a combination between the support and relationship systems of FE and Persona would have been interesting to see. Go out on dates or fighting together to increase stats... What could have been, man. *Goes to play Pokemon Conquest*.
Let's be real. It's 10% Fire Emblem and 90% Shin Megami Tensei. Only thing they kept from Fire Emblem was the weapon triange and like 10 Fire Emblem characters. And those characters don't even look like themselves! (Except Tiki).
Honestly I haven't played it at all because of the fact mentioned above. I love Fire Emblem and was looking forward to it's first spin off... Until I realized they just threw the Fire Emblem name on there to bring in the FE fans. It honestly doesn't look like a bad game, and I may end up getting it. It just doesn't resemble Fire Emblem at all.
Flareboxx The first 2/3rds of the game don't deal with FE much but the last 1/3 is pretty FE heavy. You may enjoy it more and more as you play through the game. Most people on 4chan and other sites based their opinions on the trailers and first 2 chapters of the game. That being said, the FE parts only focus on FE1 and awakening settings and characters.
Honestly, up until the end, maybe, its barely a Shin Megami Tensei game. Its closer to the Persona family. Focuses on a major part of real life, then goes on to explore the effects that part of life has on people, develops the characters and eventually gets gradually dark in story telling, based on what I gather as its on a console I don't own.
There's actually a lot of Fire EMblem and it's really just Persona 4. For non-Persona things from SMT are: -the wind spell is Zan instead of Garu -three character that are locked to their own abilities from Digital Devil Saga -you can jump off of things and climb up a ledge from SMT IV -items -it sort of has demon fusion? For Fire Emblem things in TMS: -Characters from Shadow Dragon and Awakening (not sure why they only went with two games) -stats (luck is no longer a number though) -weapons -Level up jingle -class changing -some items -skills -Super Sayian Marth singing the Fire Emblem theme -Medeus -Support (although these could easily be compaired to Social Links, but they have 3 levels like Supports instead of 10 levels) -Spells (Flux is the only one you can use off the bat, the others are just follow-ups) -Shop keeps are Fire Emblem characters from FE 6 and 9+10
Tbh the biggest reason it probably sold poorly was because it was on the wii U. If they release it on the switch it may have another chance, though without the contreversial
To be honest I would like the localization changes as an option in the settings, I am quite fond of the Outfit Tsubasa gained trew that and while I know manny hate the change in tone, I personally prefer it over the original way things play out. That said I can compleatly understand why people do not like the localization changes.
I thought the game was great, the story was good, not the best jrpg story out there (hi Xenogears), but the gameplay was where it shines to me. The weapon forging system where you can reforge weapons you've already made into stronger versions of themselves with new skills is awesome and helped me out so many times. The characters were fun, although sometimes they got a little annoying, like Elleonora never not mentioning hollywood every 10 seconds, but it never got too bad (also Mamori is adorable). The music was also good, I enjoyed it, I liked the variety in tone a lot of the tracks had, but at some point it does get a little monotonous
So in other words, rather than being a Shin Megami Tensei proper title, they indeed make a Persona game instead...makes me kind of want to play it after all...except I don't own a wii...
The Japanese name for the character is something like Shiida if I recall, while the NA name is Caeda. Obviously the Japanese dub, that they kept for the global version, would keep the Japanese pronunciation, even if it ended up looking kinda funny on paper. Same is true for the other characters, though I think for the others it was at least close enough you could just pass it off as it being an accent difference. Sallja And Tharja for example.
Nintendo Treehouse sheananigans aside, I think the game would have been better if it stuck as a Strategy RPG, and that way not flipfloping between genres too much. And before you say it, the Devil Survivor Series are SRPG and also Shin Megami spin-offs, so there was no excuse to make it a traditional JRPG.
Yes Atlus would totally pay for the wide swath of voice work needed for the game even if it was based around an idea that would only appeal to an incredibly niche fanbase in America. And the fact that the game was a complete and utter financial failure in Japan wouldn't be a factor either.
Considering all the work to make the vocal tracks fit right with the English language and finding the right voice artists to perform all of this? Yeah, definitely could have been pricey. Then comes the licensing of the Japanese voice track as people would complain about it not being in.
Yeah, the lack of a dub is why I didn't get it either. The gameplay sounds intriguing and all, but I'm not paying money for a game where I can't understand what the characters are saying.
Great video! I love this game. It's absolutely amazing! The hate it gets is completely unwarranted. I mean, the biggest complaint I hear is that it's "censored to absurdity". Sorry, but changing panties to shorts and aging characters up two years isn't absurd. It's necessary to bring the game to the west. Because over here, (shock!) sexualization of teenagers is socially frowned upon and often times illegal. Story is the same. Gameplay is the same. Only difference is that you no longer get to see underage anime tits. Get over it.
Honestly I realize you are being sarcastic here but I don't think it should be changed. She was an idol and this is what idols do. It isn't like it is promoting pedophilia I mean seriously, it also wasn't like any of the designs were that bad. Just silly SJW anything that is fun is bad.
instead of this atrocity they could have made a game like Devil Survivor with FE characters but no, let's make this j-pop infused idol tomfoolery instead. ugh.
I like Pokemon Conquest, but a Pokemon x fire emblem sounds true better.-I wish it could happen. Regardless at the time, this came out I was utterly broke, and it didn't seem worth the effort, I'm not much of a shinigami tesei fan; aside persona; and I had my fire emblem fix in 2 portable games.
I would have gotten this game if the female designs weren't so goddamn irritating to me. And ironically, the darker story would have actually helped it since it was so damn generic...
Had potential just so many bad calls Direct it revealed in was a mood whiplash of j pop to a silent direct, immediate turn off dissonance That first revealed turned off ppl again cause of hype to SMT x FE and got something too different Animation stiffness especially with mc girl overreaction It's gameplay was it's highlight but with a bad start and certain issues with uncanny visuals not up to par to it's vision, bad animation and a poor mc who is a bad self insert it was doomed
I have never seen a game that intrigued me yet was so destined for failure and I saw it coming like the wii-u due to the decisions made by the companies they didn't dub the game so westerners were less likely to buy it. They based it off of 2 niche titles rather than smt with Legend of Zelda which could be violent and dark and they set the game in Tokyo, most importantly they censored the title when both franchises deal with concepts of mature themes and in the case of SMT sexual themes not to mention SMT hadn't been on a nintendo home console for 3 generations in America Fire Emblem moved to pockets on the 3ds so there was a lot of factors that doomed this title. Nintendo could have had their own equivalent to KH with this game or Smash Brothers but they lack the competence to pull something like that off. That's why I hate their practices.
This game was a mistake. I hope it never gets ported. I hope it's existence is further denied. I'm still mad at Atlus for this pandering pile of animu bs.

Even with its flaws, I still think it an underrated gem that any Wii U owner would love.

Hopefully, in time, these series can touch once again...
Good video, this really made me more interested in this game
Daniel Alvarez it's so good
TheRedScizor the game or video ?
Daniel Alvarez

We'll make you guys enjoy every game ever made... except the bad ones, clones, and ripoffs.

Yeah Nintendo will never allow their IPs on other systems. Same goes for Sony and Microsoft. It's their property you know?
I'm hoping maybe we'll get a Switch version/remake at some point, maybe without the censorship too (a guy can dream). I think it'd sell a LOT better than it did on the Wii U.
And while they're at it, they should add an English dub option to the game for the Switch port!

Only as an option. In my opinion, the Japanese voice acting fits better with the overall theme of the game.
I am so glad for this rerelease since the switch sold so much better than the Wii U I feel the sales will easily be better
StrawberryEggs Same I really hope we get a sequel too.
If the game had gotten a dub, I would have tried it out.
I truly loved this game when I played it. Thabks for making this video and getting more people into it
I made my own TMS fan-fic.
This game need a switch port so hard.
Switch players loves anime games AND three houses Let a lot of people with the Desiré of more Fire Emblem stuff.
Gonzalo Ruben Cachi This comment has aged spectacularly. Lol
It may have been an obscure title, but it was a damn fun one in my opinion
I'm excited this is getting ported to Switch soon
I wasted my money on the Encore edition, and for once I don't regret it!
Not to mention the title of the game is a combination of both Shin Megami Tensei and Fire Emblem.
TMS #FE
Tokyo Mirage Session - TMS - SMT - Shin Megami Tensei
And does #FE need to be explained?
This is probably one of the more underrated games. To me it was much better than Fates in my opinion mainly because of the cast of Fire Emblem characters chosen. Battles felt like I was fighting in Persona while keeping the standard mechanics in a Fire Emblem game like the weapon triangle and flier weaknesses with bows and wind attacks. Even though sales were low it doesn't change the fact that this game is great. Story is standard but the characters and gameplay made the game better.
This channel really deserves more subscribers, you should promote in the fire emblem subreddit
Me and that subreddit go way back. We'll be posting on there soon alongside the other Fire Emblem videos.
It sounds epic
7:24 nice picture of Kuala Lumpur traffic there lol...that's a familiar sight for me as a resident of KL.
Best FE game with Best soundtrack
Chaos89P Well there is an uncensored fan patch.
FiendIII_Thomas Kaine Not... interested in modding my Wii U just yet, if modding is necessary.
+101772749000245446882 At least it's an option. Hell I even refuse to buy it not because the changes but it's not my cup a tea.
***** Most likely, and it's a damn shame, too. It's an interesting concept. Only time will tell if Atlus and IS try this again.
I loved this game, it's my favourite JRPG since the original Xenoblade Chronicles and my favourite RPG on the Wii U (not that there are many but I like it a lot more than Xenoblade X)
Good video, but I only have 1 correction. Atlus has made SRPGs before. Devil Survivor is already an SRPG and it was the DeSu team that made TMS.
I commented this before but they literally said something along the lines that since Atlus makes RPG's they should make RPG's. We're not putting words into their mouth or anything like that.
Welcome back, buddy
This was a great video. I would love to see you guys cover Golden Sun the Lost Age . I do need to get TMS soon
We may be doing that in the future because a certain someone we work with loves that franchise.
This game needs a sequel.
I really like the game, its fun
Very interesting video. Is this new series about spin-offs of the series covered in Chronicles, or just about any game?
The later. Debut lets us cover any game we, or you, want to. Same Chronicles flair, different style of show.
11:11 "Tokyo Mirage Sessions' combat was imminently familiar to anyone who had played one of ATLUS's past titles."
Wrong! Its combat is nothing at all like Jack Bros.'.
Since you've done TMS I'm fully expecting SMT in the future ;]
That nobody actually had a Wii U to play it on probably didn't help sales much. Any game on that platform was pretty much DOA by default.
That's my case anyway, though I still really want to play it some time; maybe on an emulator when they can handle it and I finally have a decent PC.
Yeah, the lack of Wii U presence in homes probably crippled this game to a point of twice as much compared to if more households had a Wii U.
I think somebody in one of the two companies confused Shin Megami Tensei with Persona.
I agree they should have promoted this as Persona x Fire Emblem and they would had been no backlash.
I actually enjoy this game
I was interested in this game, especially after devouring persona 4 golden, not once, not twice, but three times in a row :P. But I didn't want to purchase a wii-u for this game alone... and the console didn't give me enough reasons to go on it... (FE is pretty much the only Nintendo franchise I follow religiously since awakening. Though I played path of radiance when a friend loaned me his game cube, I never bought one myself and kind of forgot the name of the franchise in the following years... until awakening that is.)
the switch has caught my attention... a FE coming on it in the near future is already making me tempted to buy it... a port of this game on it would seal the deal for me :P
Tokyo Mirage Session #TotallyNotSakuraWars
How does this video have anything to deal with Sakura Wars?
Let's be real. It's 10% Fire Emblem and 90% Shin Megami Tensei. Only thing they kept from Fire Emblem was the weapon triange and like 10 Fire Emblem characters. And those characters don't even look like themselves! (Except Tiki).
Flareboxx You must not have played until the end of the game
For non-Persona things from SMT are:
-the wind spell is Zan instead of Garu
-three character that are locked to their own abilities from Digital Devil Saga
-you can jump off of things and climb up a ledge from SMT IV
-items
-it sort of has demon fusion?
For Fire Emblem things in TMS:
-Characters from Shadow Dragon and Awakening (not sure why they only went with two games)
-stats (luck is no longer a number though)
-weapons
-Level up jingle
-class changing
-some items
-skills
-Super Sayian Marth singing the Fire Emblem theme
-Medeus
-Support (although these could easily be compaired to Social Links, but they have 3 levels like Supports instead of 10 levels)
-Spells (Flux is the only one you can use off the bat, the others are just follow-ups)
-Shop keeps are Fire Emblem characters from FE 6 and 9+10
Great but hugely ignored game!!! I love Tokyo Mirage Sessions #FE and it is definitely one of the best JRPGs of recent memory
it look fun
There was almost a FireEmblem x Pokemon!? fuck me! i hope that comes in the future...
I just got it on the switch. Just finished Chapter 1. Loving it so far. Should had been introduced as Persona x Fire Emblem.
wow um the idea of crossing fire emblem with pokemon is rather crazy...
Tbh the biggest reason it probably sold poorly was because it was on the wii U. If they release it on the switch it may have another chance, though without the contreversial
Censorship this time
To be honest I would like the localization changes as an option in the settings, I am quite fond of the Outfit Tsubasa gained trew that and while I know manny hate the change in tone, I personally prefer it over the original way things play out. That said I can compleatly understand why people do not like the localization changes.
Port to switch pls
So in other words, rather than being a Shin Megami Tensei proper title, they indeed make a Persona game instead...makes me kind of want to play it after all...except I don't own a wii...
i have absolutely no interest in this game, but interesting video nonetheless!
It wasn't Shin Megami Tensei enough.
kay-da? ...it's pronounced see-da or she-da ingame.
I know that but Lockstin didn't. It could look like it should be pronounced kay-da to someone who's never played the game.
The reason why I didn't play it? I find the lack of an English dub disturbing, and it shows that the localization team of the game just didn't care.
Yunglex313 They could've hired Bang Zoom Entertainment to dub it. Even with those expenses, they should've taken the risk.
Yeah, the lack of a dub is why I didn't get it either. The gameplay sounds intriguing and all, but I'm not paying money for a game where I can't understand what the characters are saying.
But they give you subtitles
Great video!
I love this game. It's absolutely amazing!
The hate it gets is completely unwarranted. I mean, the biggest complaint I hear is that it's "censored to absurdity". Sorry, but changing panties to shorts and aging characters up two years isn't absurd.
It's necessary to bring the game to the west. Because over here, (shock!) sexualization of teenagers is socially frowned upon and often times illegal.
Story is the same. Gameplay is the same. Only difference is that you no longer get to see underage anime tits. Get over it.
God damn those localization makers! Giving women clothes and being creeped out by the sexualization of teenagers! How dare they!?
This.
WHY?!GOD TELL ME WHY THIS GAME EXISTS!?!?!?
That Fire Emblem x Pokémon or (whatever that conquest shit was) should've happened! This game is complete shit.
I would have gotten this game if the female designs weren't so goddamn irritating to me. And ironically, the darker story would have actually helped it since it was so damn generic...
less j pop and a darker story would have made more people get the game. all I'm gonna say.
If this game on ps4 I would have bought it. Wiiu no sir.
Had potential just so many bad calls
Direct it revealed in was a mood whiplash of j pop to a silent direct, immediate turn off dissonance
That first revealed turned off ppl again cause of hype to SMT x FE and got something too different
Animation stiffness especially with mc girl overreaction
It's gameplay was it's highlight but with a bad start and certain issues with uncanny visuals not up to par to it's vision, bad animation and a poor mc who is a bad self insert it was doomed
If only it was on pc.
Joke that went too far
This game was a mistake. I hope it never gets ported. I hope it's existence is further denied. I'm still mad at Atlus for this pandering pile of animu bs.
