Coach Donny explained it perfectly in his reaction about that scene where it seemed like the ball was in the air forever. All that thought process truely happens in a player's mind within that 3,4 secs the ball is in the air.
Yeah, but it falls apart when the slow motion stuff happens outside the player's head (like when kindaichi says entire sentence to hinata after the spike but before landing)
Also I think anyone who played sports knows that when you practiced those plays, you just think the short version of what they show here, but it's not unrealistic to do evaluations on the court
@@rewrose2838 storytelling and narrative > realism but as Coach Donny pointed out, Haikyuu can be way too realistic and detailed when the show warrants it.
What coach Donny was explaining is definitely true when it comes to how fast athletes’ thought process can go I these moments. As far as I know most of the Normies haven’t been involved with highly competitive sports, so I can understand how they wouldn’t relate to this.
Sugawara claimed Asahi preferes higher tosses, away from the net. Here's what that means: - Lower tosses are faster, giving less time for everyone to react (both enemy and allies), and it's usually good to avoid an skilled enemy blocker. - Higher tosses are slower, giving more time for everyone to react (both enemy and allies), and it's usually good when you know you spiker it's good enough to win against the enemy block. (It's also easier to set, which makes it the only options when there's a bad receive) - Tosses closer to the net are much harder to get past the block, because it's much closer to it, eliminating much of the angles that could be used to spike around it. When this type of toss gets spiked past the enemy block, there's little the enemy team can do, since you can pretty much spike it down, because of the position you're in. - Tosses away from the net gives the spiker much more angles to hit past the enemy block, but you'll have to spike more foward and less down, since you're further away from the net. If the setter knows that the spiker can get to the ball before any blocker, it would be optimal to set it fast and close to the net. If the setter knows that the enemy is going to be there to block, it would be optimal to set it high and away from the net. Asahi prefers tosses that are higher and away from the net because he's tall and strong, he can usually break through the enemy block when he has time to prepare. Hinata has no technique, which makes him rely on speed to get the ball through.
Haikyuu has great naming schemes in general so here’s a fun little trivia regarding Noya and Asahi! They are good friends and complete opposites of each other: •Nishinoya - short, loud, confident, energetic, but can be calm and quiet when he focuses on a receive. Specializes in receives (defense). Birthday is October 10 (10/10). Meanwhile… •Asahi - tall, soft-spoken, less confident, timid, but can be really into it when he calls for spikes. Specializes in spikes (offense). Birthday is January 1 (01/01). The way their names are written in Japanese also allude on how they contrast each other: •Nishinoya Yu’s name is written as 西谷 夕 meaning 西=West, 谷=Valley, 夕=Sunset/Evening. •Azumane Asahi’s name is written as 東峰 旭 meaning 東=East, 峰=Mountain top, 旭=Sunrise/Morning Sun. How the author gives names to the characters and teams is pretty cool, even with the simplicity of the show’s title (Haikyuu) which literally means “volleyball” lol.

What takes minutes of thought in sports anime really happens in real life, but obviously, it all happens in a second. In anime it's slower just for the sake of the audience to understand what's going on there.
Actually the "attackers" this way to say it are the wing spikers and those are Tanaka and Asahi (The Only Ace for now). Hinata is in the position of middle blocker same as Tsukishima (glass tall guy). Despite that anyone can attack in volleyball except the libero (Nishinoya).

In next episode they will show you how in actual time things happened in the last set. And it's true that in that 3 to 4 sec in a players mind a whole conversation happens some time. Even professional vollyball coach said this happened to him when he used to play.
When Kageyama felt how powerful Asahi's hit was on that first block, he was like "Oh hell nah, this guy can't quit. Set Asahi 'til he scores so he can stop being a wimp and help us in the tournament."
I feel that each member that was in the match against Date Kogyo felt a lot of responsibility for the loss, but they all processed that loss in different ways. Daichi wants to get stronger; Suga follows Daichi, but exhibits frustration at his weaker points as a setter; Noya sees himself as responsible for not block-following well enough; and Asahi internalizes his issues in the match and blames himself for all of it, regardless of his role as wing spiker and his eponymous role as Ace. This is where Daichi and Asahi clash a lot, and it's where Daichi's line about Asahi's anxiety comes from. It's a statement that bothers me too, but I think it comes back to how Daichi and Asahi process the loss, the frustrations, and their responsibilities in it. I feel that Daichi is very set in going forward and making it to Nationals; this can be a good thing, but it can be shortsighted too. Since Asahi clearly had more difficulties with the loss and perhaps didn't want to more forward, Daichi was probably frustrated by that, hence his remark to Asahi. But when Asahi returns, Daichi is happy to welcome him back, and that shows that despite any kind of frustration, Daichi never gives up on Asahi entirely.
About the ball in the air thing What if asahi and suga actually thinking at thr same time? We have to see itu on both perspective Therefore appear longer
None of the current players have played against Nekoma before. It was an old rivalry before their time, especially between the former Coach Ukai and Coach Nekomata (Nekoma's former coach). The had plenty of practice matches but Nekoma plays in a different prefecture, so they can only meet for official matches at the National tournaments, and it never happened during both coach's tenures.
Where to start, huh? Things are a little bit different. 1. Hinata isn't ace, only a good decoy. 2. And here we go. [ WS - wing spiker, S - setter, MB - middle blocker, L - libero ] 3rd years: ↓ - Sawamura Daichi (#1), WS - captain; - Sugawara Koushi (#2), S - vice-captain; - Adzumane Asahi (#3), WS, ace = stands diagonally to the setter; cool guy. 2nd years(you'll learn about all of them later): ↓ - Nishinoya Yu (#4), L; - Tanaka Ryunosuke (#5), WS; - Ennoshita Chikara (#6), WS; - Kinoshita Hisashi (#7), WS - pinch server; - Narita Kadzuhito (#8), MB; 1st years: - Kageyama Tobio (#9), S; - Hinata Shoyo (#10), MB; - Tsukishima Kei (#11), MB; - Yamaguchi Tadashi (#12), MB - pinch server. 3.Everyone, except libero, can attack. And all players have to receive. WS (on left of setter) usually called Ace. WS (on right side) hasn't name, just wing spiker. MB usually play as decoy, make quick attacks and blocks. Setters can do a lot depend on their skills. Liberos can receive and toss. 4. But to be really good player, you have to be good in everything. Just saying.
Whether a full sentence or a series of images these are all thoughts and well thoughts are faster or just as fast as the speed of light (debatable) so many things happening while inside a character's headspace shouldn't be weird to you guys at all this is the only way to put it into animation and at the same time to consume time for the episode to drive the story forward and that makes perfect sense.
Asahi is the only ace for Karasuno. There is usually 1 on each team. Tanaka is just an amazing player with great attack power too but he isn't the ace. Tanaka and Asahi are both wing spikers those are their positions. Ace is more like a title to have. Noya is the libero but others can of course save the ball too. That is just Noya's position bc he's best at it on Karasuno.

Where to start, huh? Things are a little bit different.
1. Hinata isn't ace, only a good decoy.
2. And here we go. [ WS - wing spiker, S - setter, MB - middle blocker, L - libero ]
3rd years: ↓
- Sawamura Daichi (#1), WS - captain;
- Sugawara Koushi (#2), S - vice-captain;
- Adzumane Asahi (#3), WS, ace = stands diagonally to the setter; cool guy.
2nd years(you'll learn about all of them later): ↓
- Nishinoya Yu (#4), L;
- Tanaka Ryunosuke (#5), WS;
- Ennoshita Chikara (#6), WS;
- Kinoshita Hisashi (#7), WS - pinch server;
- Narita Kadzuhito (#8), MB;
1st years:
- Kageyama Tobio (#9), S;
- Hinata Shoyo (#10), MB;
- Tsukishima Kei (#11), MB;
- Yamaguchi Tadashi (#12), MB - pinch server.
Marketa just wow. She looks stunning 😍
2 episodes per week PLEASE! :P
Thanks World's Okayest DM :)
Fucking goosebumps I watch asah's spike
Thank you guys!
He was not suspended he just left the team
his name is not ace its asahi
They only just met him so they probably still confused and needs to learn it

Y’all have to react to Haikyu Abridged by the Schmuck Squad. There’s a few others out there but that’s probably the funniest.

If you are going to go with a nickname for Asahi it's "Man Bun"
what a lovely anime ❤️❤️❤️🥰🥰🥰🖤🧡
I think the captain is voiced by captai Armin of aot
It will be nice if you also put movies you are going to react for the week in community section.
Tsukki is taller than the Ace Asahi
Please his name is Asahi😂
Please react to line of duty. Its one of the most popular shows in the uk. Soooooo good.
Will they be watching OVA’S ?
Asahi is the only ace for Karasuno. There is usually 1 on each team. Tanaka is just an amazing player with great attack power too but he isn't the ace. Tanaka and Asahi are both wing spikers those are their positions. Ace is more like a title to have.
Noya is the libero but others can of course save the ball too. That is just Noya's position bc he's best at it on Karasuno.
Our Jesus is back 🙌
