  • 29th June 2024 marked the 400th anniversary of the signing of the 1624 Pembroke charter by King James I. We celebrated at Pembroke with a Festival showcasing 400 years of research, impact and community, featuring talks and panel discussions with alumni, academics and students, covering topics from AI, medicine and conservation to translation and human rights.
    In this session:
    - Professor Rob Salguero-Gomez (Fellow in Biology) and Professor Nick Hawes (Fellow in Engineering) explain how they have joined forces to apply AI and robotics to monitor and predict biodiversity resilience
    - Professor Amy Dickman (Kaplan Senior Research Fellow and Director of WildCRU) explains her work to improve human-carnivore co-existence in Africa and her experience as joint CEO of Lion Landscapes
    - Barbara Francik (JCR) shares her work closer to home as leader of the Pembroke Biodiversity Project
