Great to see you are now on RUclips. I've been following you for some years, but have always battled with following written instructions - this makes it so much easier.
Not that I had a problem with my under/over lines, but my way is harder because I always followed the line. Your way is so much easier. Thank you for the visual aids to explain a easier way to get things done.
I observed that one of your wall challenges produced a heart. Then I observed that another heart appeared oriented 180 degrees from the first if I closed the pattern. However, I then have 2 loose ends in the smaller first heart. It is on your download #10. Is there a way to make it work?
Are you working on the bottom one on Worksheet #10? Email me a snapshot if you’re still having trouble and I’ll take a look. The pattern does work out to connect up, so something hinky must be going on. Head over here… the web form won’t let you attach an image, but if you type in the email address below and shoot me a copy of where you’re at we can get to the bottom of it. 😊 www.aon-celtic.com/emailer.html
Hi Johnny! Where are you running into trouble with it? I’ve worked on 3D surfaces in the past (including someone’s calf for a tattoo!) and found the easiest way was to take a sheet of paper and wrap it around the object. Mark the overlap point so you can remove the paper and lay it out flat after with the design area marked. Then you can design in the area while it’s flat, which can be much easier.
Have you checked out the Embellishments video? I cover some alternatives there. Something like adding the triangles or little lines might work for you. If you’re just looking to add a bit of detail, I also show how to add some different piping outlines too. m.ruclips.net/video/xoNwsfw9b7k/видео.html
I’ve visited your website for many, many years and was so excited to find you on RUclips! Celtic Art IS your Superpower!
My sister will be happy to hear that my superpower is not dog hoarding... lol. One day I will have a third. One day.

Thanks Alan! Yes... only took me like a decade to get with the technology... LOL. ;-)

That’s great to hear! I figure the more varieties of technique out there, the better mix and match folks can do to find what “clicks” for them.

I tend to overwork my drawings. And I suck at shading and shadowing.

In my experience, you never use an ink pen of any sort before you draw the knot with a pencil, lightly.
