I’m 53 here. Grew up in the 80’s and grateful for that time. Love the music here. Not sure who else is familiar with the band Yes. To me this sounds like the late 80’s/early 90’s version of Yes with Trevor Rabin and Chris Squire. Very intriguing sound. Well done. Made a fan here for sure. Bless you all.
I was born in 1981, 43 now, grew up on 80s Pop Rock, 80s Rap, 80s everything, Classic Rock, Disco, 60s and 70s Rock, 50s Diner type oldies... still listening to it all.
91 born here For some reason I really like 80s 90s songs, maybe it's because I was exposed to those songs when I was a kid or something but it gives me this strange nostalgic feeling everytime I hear those songs and song like this Thank you for making this song Bless you all who listens to this type of songs
Im a 1990, and what you said is exactly the way I put it if I ever get on the subject of these types of songs and music videos. I’m assuming like me, you’ve gone on a “The Midnight”, “Mr. Kitty”, “Kavinsky” binge at some point or another? Since you seem to think the way I do about this music, list me any other artists that you know of who make this kind of music, please!
As for the reason why, I’ve wondered that too. I think some of it has to do with the music videos that go along with the song (very 80s/90s dressed, styles, appearances, love stories in a much simpler and magical time). When we were at an age of having our first crushes and getting into that magical time, it would have been the late 90s, and at that time we played outside, played games, had more meaningful and intense interactions, and a lot of what these videos portray is very similar to what I’m trying to get at. Also lots of the actors in the videos are from our younger years as people we’ve grown up watching for years (ex Ryan Gosling). Now whenever you hear these kinds of songs, you probably make an automatic connection to that era because of the videos. That’s not to take away from the fact that these songs so sound very 80s and 90s, and although we don’t remember much, we likely heard music similar to this repeatedly in the 90s, but don’t have a much of a conscious recollection
And I think our era is the best for music for the simple fact that it sounds like hybrid between 1980s + 2000s music, to make for a unique and memorable decade of nostalgic and unforgettable music! Personally I think the 90s has the best music of any decade thus far, as it is the most refined and polished of any decade leading up to, holds alot of nostalgia, & was the last decade of music to have its own unique sound. 00s were decent too but almost everything in the past 20 years has little variation and doesn’t really bring anything unique. Unless you look at the evolution of rap and the popularization of house music. But that’s all I’ve noticed is different
@@leemori90 hey there thanks for sharing your opinion on the matter, it's cool to see another person who enjoyed the same type of music. I mostly listens to lofi so I don't know much of others beside those you mentioned, mostly I just listened to the midnight and this, then timecop1983, marvel83, gunship, and just type retrowave / synthwave on the search bar and got to listen some playlist people made. I agree with your view of the 80s 90s culture. And yeah, I personally think 80 90s music are awesome! Perhaps our subconscious mind (or whatever its called) saved that memory and the 'vibe' from that time when we were young and the music makes those memories resurfaces, evoking a sense of nostalgia or something
85 here. its the exact same with me. I like music in gen, but these type of songs are something else. Nostalgia to the core. I wonder if that's a pattern with the music genre itself or with the generation, because of the music we grew up listening to.
Nice to see a bunch of Indians listening to synthwave. Kalax, the midnight, fm 84, Ollie Wride, at 1980, electric youth and so many more. I really hope there comes a day when we have synthwave concerts in our country.
This is a lovely song and perfect video mixup of the movie Baby Driver, which is one of my new favorite movies, btw, and this song fits the little snippets of movie scenes. Very well put together.
