    Final Update:
A lot people are referencing Moists recent video with Dale as a sort of “debunking” of the points made in this video, but I don’t see how his opinions differ to the ones I’ve made.
I watched the video, it is great, but the conclusion by Charlie is the exact same I made, Dale seems like a nice guy, with extensive training, both martial and military, yet even he struggled to pull off his own techniques reliably, they’re extremely situational and if you’re an average joe, you stand no chance of pulling them off.
That’s literally the summary of my points in this video
Just to clarify a few things:
1). Yes not every single thing this man demonstrates is wrong, this video does focus on the craziest aspect of his channel.
2). When I said he’s a genius for his “How to handle being chased in a car”. No, I did not mean going to the police station is bad advice, I only meant it’s the most general advice you could give to anything, it would be like me making a video on “How to stop a Car robbery”, step one: call the police, done. Yes, good advice, but not exactly a secret strategy worthy of making an entire video on. Essentially, the only decent advice I found on his channel and it’s like something you’d find on wikiHow
3). And I can't believe I even have to make this point, but me saying the female orgasm doesn't exist, was a joke, everyone using that point to try to make me look stupid while defending Dale, you are almost incomprehensibly brain dead, then again, you're his key demographic, so go figure... kisses.

HEY!! First of all, agreed! I absolutely LOVE your channel. Long time subscriber and I've seen all of at least most of your videos and haven't seen one hilarious clip included. I'm not on Reddit so I'm recommending it here. I've seen it in various places on the internet, but the one I found when searching RUclips is titled "Legit Self Defense Skills" posted by "The Joe Rogan Family" (certainly of no actual relation to Joe Rogan). No one would take this video seriously of course but it is so funny, always has me in tears. Would love to see it shared on your channel! John would never tell you to try and disarm from the drop after watching some dipshit Rex Kwan Do stuff on the internet and imagining you’re Ip Man all of a sudden. I’ve been watching ASP for years and I’ve never seen a facing pistol disarm clean like that.
It’s ALWAYS, almost without exception, a messy, desperate, life and death struggle for the weapon, because people REALLY don’t like to let go of their guns in real life, and they have no problem firing in the several seconds you’re trying to take it from them. The safe odds say DUST bro would get annihilated unarmed against any form of force multiplier, especially a firearm. He doesn’t move like a fighter at all.

Literally you can do this to your own wrist and you won’t like it. Most people in fact will not like their hands being forced down by the wrist. You can literally control someone’s whole body through pain with this method.

The "break up a fight" technique applying force under the nose is a legit technique. I worked inside a state prison. However, the caveat is that the application should be done while behind the person. In other words, you have to lock the head in place and apply force bach toward yourself. If done correctly it is quite painful and will get someone's attention to stop fighting. Doing it the way he does, though, would not work. People will react to it quickly and move their head away from the pressure.

Yes but it’s pain compliance. Pain compliance isn’t super effective against someone who is angry, drunk, high, adrenaline pumping, etc.

This is a situation where you have an instructor who is teaching “self-defense” that he was taught, not self-defense that he’s actually used. It’s all based on theory, not practical application. That’s like taking a scientific hypothesis and declaring it as factual evidence without any testing whatsoever. It’s a disgrace to the legitimate martial arts community.

I actually learned Krav Maga from my dad. I forgot most of it by now, but even when he was teaching it to me he told me even if you drill this stuff for hours and hours a day, there's really only a small chance it'll actually help you.
There is some stuff out there that will probably help in a real mugging/life or death situation. I didn't see any from DUST but it exists. The problem is that is bloody, brutal, requires significant strength and speed and hours and hours of practice to actually pull off properly. And even when you have done all that for years and years, your best odds are usually only ever 1/10 if someone has a weapon and you don't.
You are 100% fucked if they have a gun and a few feet of distance.
It would be more practical for the average person to train on the weekends with some boxing/jiu-jitsu, and cary around some mace (or a gun of your own if you can).

Are you talking about frank castle style of putting your thumb through someones eye?

    • @chesusjrist9733
      @chesusjrist9733 Год назад

@@thegeth4293 No. It's a type of striking that mostly just consists of throat chops and intentional maims.
Holds to quickly snap an easy joint and get away. Foot stomps. Knee stomps. Wrist and elbow traps. There's one that is basically just trying to punch the other person's wrist as they are defending or punching you, ideally to injury or hopefully break their wrist. I also remember drilling snap kicks, ideally to kick the other person in the wrist or forearm as they are stabbing/throwing a body blow.
Drilling it is dangerous at any speed or force that that could be considered effective, and drilling it too often can also cause it to come out in regular sparring.
Now that I think on it there we did drill eye pokes a few times, but my father was very against anything that exposed or extended the fingers for too long during a fight. He made sure I understood the importance of keeping my fingers tucked, compact and tight, and taking advantage of an opponent that didn't know that lesson.
He also gave basic advice. Hammer strike the collar bones occasionally if you can. You probably won't snap it like a twig, but if you can break or fracture it they will lose most strength in that arm. If you can aim for the occipital lobe, you might be able to break it, and the attackers eye may pop out. Also, just general attrition advice, and management.
Guard the jaw, since that's the ko button. Cut the eyebrows if you can, to get blood in their eyes.
He didn't teach a lot of holds or conventional breaks though, which was a shame. He was a little guy though, and the way he saw it, if he went to the ground he was already dead.
The techniques are considered "plan z" and should only be used if you are absolutely certain your life is in danger and all other efforts to diffuse or escape have failed.
And, of course, if you're left without a weapon.

I live near Detroit and was just interested in possible alternative approaches to security and policing. That’s how Brown was promoting his Threat Management Center at the time, seemed like an interesting subject to cover.
Looking back on it now with more experience, I probably should’ve pressed harder for clarification about all kinds of things. He was kinda vague about certain shit. Some of the things he was telling me about - arranging basic ‘threat awareness’ courses for residents for free, for example - sounded like great ideas to me at the time, but now I wonder how much of that was embellished or played up.

How? Determine who belongs there first before intervening directly while making your presence known. Once you know who belongs where have them go to their respective places.. usually in my case, one dudes a resident and the other is a guest. I do get in between them, but not like this. This is a risky lawsuit waiting to happen. I seperate them verbally, literally as you would small children fighting over a toy, and get between them physically once theres about a 5 ft distance. Then i focus on the guest to get him off property. I inform him if he feels the need to call the cops, i will be there as a witness with my report but he can't be on site for obvious reasons. Then i get the residents information and get him into his home. Never got beyond that.

The scary part, is that he believe his own bullshit, and people genuinely pay this guy money for classes that will get them killed in a real self defense situation
