Thank you Chef Arne. I'm glad I found this post still going. Recently I've bought about 6 abelskiver/takoyaki pans thinking they were the same thing. Some are aluminum, and some cast iron. They have different size wells, I had to even master filling them. Making sure not to over, or under fill them. They are all different weights, and metals. All constructed somewhat differently. Even the cast irons are different. Some are black some are grayish. Some are seasoned some are not. I know very little about the pans, but I'm having fun learning everything. I thought I only had to learn how to turn them. I do. This is fascinating and delicious. There's more to it than I expected .
Very informative where I couldn't find this much knowledge on the internet otherwise. But, I obtained a cast iron that has 3 long feet as if they were intended for elevating over hot coals, hearth, or campfire. I did see one with short feet. Had no ring or skirt for great retention. I'll save this video for excellent reference.
Great video. I just got addicted to Aebleskivers and have a Lodge Cast Iron with 7 holes and it is great. It is great on my electric stove but when I get my new home I will need to get a new pan for my new gas one. Thanks for helping me understand the differences. You need to post more videos. You are adorable.
I see this is your only video. Thanks for the info. I'm going to buy an aebleskiver pan and you've helped to to know which is best for me to buy. I sure wish that you would do a demonstration on how to turn the aebleskiver so it is perfect. I live in Fort Lauderdale, Florida, USA and only saw the first post on the fb page of friend yesterday, with a recipe of a "tavern loaf aebleskiver". I had never seen aebleskiver before then. I am intrigued and looking forward to learning to make them. Thanks again for the info.
Hi, And thank you so much for your upload. I have never heard of these pans or batter-cakes can’t get my tongue around the name as it is new to me, Aebleskivers, before but I look forward to trying them and with your guidance, getting the right pan. Thanks you. Take care mrbluenun

Wow perfect! Thank you for sharing!
I just inherited two cast iron aebleskiver pans like the first two on the far right hand side (the chef's right).
Rest in peace Arne
How about a few aebelskiver recipes????🤔🤔🤔🤔
I cannot find a cast iron pan with the ring around it - they’re all like the “camping” version
Go to my website and you will see all the pans there. Pick the right one for your stove. You can also call me on my toll free number 800-404-8883
