I don't care if it doesn't make sense, but I want skybreakers to shoot lightning. Nothing says "sky breaker" more than crack in the sky, which is lightning and that's cook af
Agreed
Honestly, given that they have the surge of division and we have only had a single brief glimpse of what that looks like from a different order, I could easily see it manifesting as lightning like for them.
the breaker part comes from the surge of division, but I like your idea also hahaha
The cracks that the surge of Division creates in surfaces is very reminiscent of the scars that lightning leaves on surfaces (at least in my mind). I think it would make sense for, if not their Division Surge, their overlap Surge to produce lightning. But I guess we'll see
Yes, Chef!
I hope y'all do all 10 orders! That'd be awesome!
well there are 10 planned books so maybe we'll get a full set in about 38 years
In the video description it does say they are doing one a week!
I bet they'll do it in order, they started with wind runners, now they've done skybreakers, dustbringers are probably next.
Oh awesome! Thanks for letting me know!@@7skarma7
@@justtitanboi5566yep, it's a promo for the leatherbound kickstarter
I am OBSESSED with the art deco style. I want huge-scale prints on my walls!!!
Damn, this makes the Skybreakrers just so much more relatbale. Are these going to make me want to join every order?
... yes..
I will become Ben TenSpren.
@@MyHusbandIsLamealright. This comment is the best
@@bird_0446yes it is.
Here after taking the quiz for backerkit a narrow placement 71% to 70% but this feels right.
"I swear to seek justice, to let it guide me, until I find a more perfect Ideal."
So Dustbringers are next then. Excited for the illustrations of their spren, they’re one of the few I don’t have a clear picture of in my head.
Aren’t they the ones that look like foggy jerks
There is a sketch from Shallan in Oathbringer that was from their time in Shadsmar.
Dustbringer is my favorite order
@@myrojyn Same, I love Dustbringers!
Me too, but I think it's ridiculous that they prefer "releasers" lol. "Dustbringers" is such a cool name bro, releasers just sounds lame
Yay for Kate Reading! Between her and Michael Kramer they are just as much a part of Stormlight Archive as Kaladin and Shallan!
Her and Michael are so unbelievably good, except Kate's voice for pattern. I can't take the vocal fry she does for it.
Idk how Michael Kramer does it but everyone man's voice in stornlight archive is so distinct. Kaladin sounds nothing like Dalinar or Adolin, they're all so distinct. Like when the stormfather speaks he sounds all encompassing, like he IS the storm. Unbelievably talented.
That Jian Guo art is STUNNING. Does this mean we're finally going to get a matching Mandarin release of WoR to go with the WoK?
So...given Spren plushies were discussed using illustrations of syl/honorspren at Dragonsteel, and now we're seeing similar art for a Highspren, is it a safe guess we're going to see plushies for all the radiant Spren as part of the...not kickstarter, the backerkit, I guess?
I think I heard that they were planning on that, yeah!
Yep plus a bunch of spren already have art via shallan pages to work off. Cant wait to see the rest
It is an abomination to manifest spren in the physical realm. This should be stopped!
I wonder how the Cryptic plushies will look if they decide to make them.
Probably for Dragonsteel, my guess.
Prediction: These 10 videos come out every 2 weeks ending with the release of the Stormlight TTRPG
Good one. Probably true
Nah it won’t be out till after the actual Kickstarter for it. Prob late 2024 at this rate
I thought these were leading up to the launch of the WoR leatherbound kickstarter. They showcase it in the vid.
@@Mochu_s_Junkyard There’s already a release date?
@@rantalmore yeah I think you’re right
Is that line "even a god, if they abuse their power and authority" foreboding to anyone else? I'm suddenly struck by theories of Nale being the one to wound Honor and lead to his death.
I was thinking more about them messing with Todium. That would be so amazing.
I'm thinking Honor had to break an oath in order to preserve more important oaths, in the name of long-term strategy. Coimmitting a dishonorable act, but ultimately necessary in the name of (eventually) beating Odium, or preserving mankind for another few centuries. This fles in the face of Honor's shardic Intent, but probably only BARELY enough to eat away at Tanavast's soul. I could definitely see him quietly bleeding out over the course of millenia, gradually going mad and obsessing over the Dawnshards because he chose the best chance at beating Odium.
After all, isn't that the most Honorable thing he could do? Break his own rules, for the sake of doing what is right? Sacrifice himself?
Szeth will be Dalinar's champion to punish Odium for abusing power.
These videos are getting me so hyped! They are awesome!
Really enjoying Dan's writing for the orders. Great work to everyone involved with the video!
That highspren is adorable!!!
Dustbringers are coming baybeee!! Finally get some of their lore.
Love these.
These are SO COOL!
This is awesome!
Oh my god look at their Spren!!! The Highspren chibi looks so cool
Ah yes, my poor, misunderstood people. Glad we're getting an idea of what they would be without Nale's corruption.
Excited for Lightweavers
I’m excited for the Edgedancers!
Me too! That's my order although Windrunner was a close second
If an extrapolation from 2 data points is anything to go by, then it should be about a month!
Dustbringers next! Excited
Will Skybreakers get annoyed if you post memes in #general-chat?
They push back against corrupt mods
Depends... If the meme is relevant to the discussion, no. If it's unrelated then yes.
Generally yes
50-50. They know that # is just casual themed, but they'll try to put a couple of limits to like for very black humor or something like that idk. other thing is if you post memes on important conversations maybe.
Skybreakers!
Those Spren pictures are SO CUTE! 😍
Adoooonalsium
Didnt mention they can fly.
Any fellow willshapers excited for the willshaper video?
(Which btw falls on Valentine’s Day. Coincidence? I think not!)
Yaaaas
All Skybreakers Are Cremlings. No exceptions.
I can't wait for a ElseCaller video
Skybreakers... As a Stoneward, I will say that they are sticks in the mud. Like a Lawyer with wings. They also stick in the mud quite well, when their feet touch the ground.
Hey now, we're not trying to be sticks in the mud. We just recognize that some issues are serious and need to be dealt with seriously. The fact we think more things need to be taken seriously than most people is just a side effect.
Skybreaker is the coolest and most dynamic name among the radiant orders. Shame they’ve been lame in the story so far. Obsessively moralistic flying wrecking balls sound more fun than we’ve seen so far.
Just in english bro, in spanish they call "rompedores del cielo". It's so awkward man
@@pieroandrevv cringe! Sorry for your loss
@@Werelight hahah don't worry
@@pieroandrevvevery name except "juramentada" is worse in spanish
I am hoping Szeth takes over. His experiences allowing him to distinguish the dangers their oder could fall into and Neal is a bit mad but he will not give up the order lightly. Maybe a divide?
I'm a skybreaker
Kaladin, SAY THE WORDS!!!!
Last time I took the radiant test I got -25% for skybreaker. still very cool tho.
#SayTheWordsBart
I hope Szeth lives long enough to become roshar’s equalizer 🙏🏾
I need to see the surge of division in action
We got a glimpse of it though
It was Oathbringer, I think
Malata drew a line with a finger on a table and a charred mark was left after
But maybe this doesn't count
@@jale346 oh yeah. But I have envisioned Szeth consuming souls with Nightblood in one hand and cutting mfs in half with the other
@@undbiter65 It'd be great if he does that in Wind and Truth
Where is the music from? It sounds a lot like Jeremy Soule's work.
When the last book comes out, what will be the best way to remind ourselves what happened in the previous books, since it's been a minute?
plot summaries on The Coppermind? Or a reread? 8D
I think some members of shardcast like Jess has some recaps they may even do a Spanreeds series later this year leading up to the release
You mean you don't reread all the Cosmere books every other year?
@@stevenmathews9355 Every other year? You mean you don't reread them every 6 months?
@SS-yy4cq I used to reread the Cosmere books every year, but there's a lot of them now, so I'm not sure how long it's going to take me to read through it this year. I'm anticipating closer to a year and a half, but we'll see how busy I am.
Was there a pre-launch like this for the way of kings???
For anyone wondering, this is probably the order they are going to be released:
Windrunners
Skybreakers
Dustbringers
Edgedancers
Truthwatchers
Lightweavers
Jasnah's order (I don't remember the name)
Stonewards
Willshapers
Bondsmiths
Note: Willshapers and Stonewards might be reversed, I don't remember which one had Transportation
So, just looked it up, Jasnah's order is Elsecallers, and the Willshapers are eighth, with the Stonewards being second-to-last on the list
My order 🥹 I’m glad we were next. I always felt a kinship with the short description of the classical Skybreakers. They knew that enforcing the law is just… but not absolute. They were merciful. Would it be just to punish a poor thief for stealing bread to feed their family? Classical Skybreakers wouldn’t call that justice. Unfortunately, the modern order under this absolutist incarnation of Nale would
I have a very similar philosophy as the Skybreakers and I've thought about this conundrum. I've resolved that I would buy the loaf of bread for them, but only once.
Yeah, if the thief didn't have other options... Maybe we need to know his back history first
And this is why on my knights radiant quiz is got 75% skybreaker and 70% truthwatcher. Probably
There is a chance that Odium does something he does something to "win" which ends up causing the Skybreakers to return to the humans side and thus causes him to lose.
Punish a God… wow… what blighting madness!
Anyone else feeling like Brandon Sanderson runs with a really cool gang? This video is just nonchalantly narrated by Kate reading?
I wish modern era skybreakers would act like this. 😭 in modern Roshar they seem to defend their own interest and turn to a herald for the definition of what’s right
I’m a bit confused, is this for an actual ttrpg kickstarter?
So there's gonna be a ttrpg Kickstarter in the late summer (I think) but this is leading up to the fundraiser for the Words of Radiance leatherbound
These little segments are cool, I can't wait to see the rest. One thing I am not liking is making all the spren look like a cute Disney character. It totally breaks the immersion seeing some Funko Pop figure fart it's way into the story or any supplemental material. I can't take the rest of it seriously if that is the direction it's going to start heading in. Hopefully this is just a one off thing and not the official depiction of them in the books going forward.
Just took the quiz.. and it says I'm a Willshaper? 🤔 Skybreaker was my lowest, which makes sense.. since I hate them, lol. 🙊Now that I think about it, Willshaper makes the most sense for me; I love freedom and traveling, and the idea of forming stuff with my mind is fun. Would love to be a merchant in Shadesmar alongside my Lightspren. 😝
Which means that the best order is next. Everyone will finally see that the Dustbringers are the best; although they already know it to be true in their hearts, they are in a state of denial. Hopefully once the video is out, the people will face the facts.
Who sky breaks the Skybreakers?
i dont get this
"Maybe even a god should be held accountable if they abuse their power..." Odium, you've been warned. Maybe.
Is that a funko pop?? 💀
I guess I'm whatever order is the opposite of the skybreakers.
They would hold God's accountable??
Imagine a Skybreakers v Odium legal showdown every Desolation or, for a spicier idea, Skybreakers v Nale for abandoning the Oathpact
If this is true, then Nin allowing Szeth to go his own way seems like it would cause some problems. Someone has to be wrong and that seems like something they would take seriously.
Better Call Nale 😂
Ah yes, the order that is most opposed to my own ideology. As someone who'd be a lightweaver or willshaper, the very concept of an Absolute Law is anathema to me. That being said they arguably have the best name of any order, so they can't be that bad
WHO WATCHES THE SKYBREAKERS
Ugh, cosmere cops.
The Skybreakers are very Missunderstood
It's kind of sad
L order. Skybreakers are cops. Windrunners better
... said like a Wind Runner :)
W opinion
You say cops, I say superheroes.
Please rewrite Rhythms of Bore! Please!? I really want to care about this stuff again!
