Gallium is the terminator metal because it can change shape, form fidget spinner, go through aluminum and form explosive gases. Some tricks with gallium and Galinstan are shown in the video.
1) Gallium melts in hot sulpuric acid. It can be collected with a micropipette and small droplets join in a very funny way.
2) Potassium dichromate crystals are added, which makes gallium wobbling due to the formation of insoluble salts on the metal surface. The change of interfacial tension makes gallium change its shape.
3) In the second experiment, hydrogen peroxide is added instead of dichromate and the gallium droplet is touched with an iron wire. Now gallium makes itself as flat as possible and white layer (oxide?, sulphate?) forms at the metal surface. When gallium is heated shortly with a torch, it forms a single droplet and then again makes itself flat. Gas bubbles (probably oxygen) start bubbling through the metal and it becomes a flat white flower.
4) Then we prepared galinstan by heating together solid metals gallium (68%), tin (22%) and indium (10%). While gallium melts at 29.8 °C, Galinstan is even liquid at −19 °C. It can be spread onto a glass to make a mirror. Gallium and galinstan form an alloy with aluminum and this alloy reacts with water releasing hydrogen. So it can be used to store energy - aluminium and water on board of a hydrogen fuel cell car can make several times more hydrogen than high pressure hydrogen balloons could possibly accommodate and it is safer as well.

It sounds like vintage Cluster or Tangerine Dream from the '70's, but obviously not--or some of the trippy/spaced-out experimentation that Pink Floyd used to do in the early days. There's obviously something more than surface tension causing the droplets to recombine. If you observe when it happens, the smaller droplets get pushed away from the large glob and then are attracted back. It's probably an electrical charge that is not being accounted for.
Indeed, the electrical double layer would stabilize some charge in the droplets. Thus, all the droplets must have same-signed charge.

+TeslasLoveChild there are cheaper methods, such as high temperature reaction between methane and water vapour. But if gallium would be cheaper then this method could be used for hydrogen cars, for example
you just said.. JIGJ te,p methane and water vapour * this requires input energy.. since the metals in question have a low melting point they require little energy to make the alloy, right ?
and so, simply with a one kg bar of this alloy and place it in some water and have a tube on it, and the extracted Hydrogen pumps into a tank which can be used for electricity..

One of my biggest regrets from childhood was not taking science class more seriously.
Reminds me of my school days..Back when i was in 12th, during our chemistry lab section we decided to test sodium..what we heard is that sodium will react terribly on contact with water..so we decided to test it. Even our teacher was ready..lol.she said she too only had heard about it..
We flood the lab sink and drop a small piece of sodium into water. Initially it start to move fastly on top of water and within five seconds what we heard was a loud bang!!. The entire lab was filled with smoke and water in sink rise up a few meter and it was containing some more sodium particles and as it touched the false ceiling on top, the ceiling started to burn, but we managed to put out the fire.
The entire faculty along with principal arrived at the lab to know what happened..well we told it was just a trial experiment for our chemistry exhibition...
