      Knowing your gardening zone will help you grow plants that will do well in your area. We always try to get plants that are two zones lower than our zone so they can go through rough winters. Shopping in local garden centers is great because they have the plants that thrive in your zone. 💚💚💚💚💚💚

    Hi Angie & Ambose. Looking forward to seeing these in bloom. Last summer I planted 3 strawberry sunday hydrangeas in my yard. One thrived and two struggled along. I'm hoping they do better this summer. Last week, I hit up 3 Home Depots to buy certain matching containers to line up around the perimeter of my yard. I did get a bag of Biotone but I still need soil. Your container plantings have me so excited for this growing season. Thanks for the videos & inspiration.

    Hi Ambrose & Angie. I discovered hydrangeas can take root pruning well so I don’t have to keep upsizing the containers they’re in. My limelight’s grew 4’ tall planted in a huge 22” pot & happily been in there for 3 yrs. The multiple stem hydrangeas like the macrophila can easily be split & planted. The panicles can be split & tree formed in pots or ground. With Hydrangeas it’s a world of opportunities!😊

I bought a Invincibelle spirit II I planted it in full sun until 3 pm and then it goes in shade as sun moves behind the house. I am in 7b Raleigh NC. Aside from the obvious that they are larger, do they get to maturity a little faster and grow faster. Is it worth the money to upgrade to a larger container. • @GardenObsessions
      @GardenObsessions  2 года назад +1

      Yes I love bringing hydrangea flowers indoors! I actually brought some panicle hydrangea not long ago to enjoy. I usually like to wait for any type of hydrangea flowers to start feeling like paper so they can hold up nicely And dry. If you do bring them in sooner make sure always to cut them in the mornings and immediately put them in water as you are cutting them. Bring them in and cut stem again and I like to make slids all along the stem so it takes up water. Then I place in a cool area indoors. 💚

    Could you please share the name of the green leafy plant in the silver container behind Angie? It's featured when you are both done with your planting at roughly 16:00 minutes in. Thank you very much!

      Hello! That is called Lemony Lace elderberry in spring it flowers before it leaves out a beautiful disc white flower. This plant is hardy zones 3a-7b it’s part sun to sun. In hotter climates it does need protection from the hottest time of day or it will scorch. We also have e another called Black Lace elderberry blooms in pink. Both grow a good size and easy to trim back I love it because of our small space. 💚💚💚💚💚💚 -Angie

    I have a question I fertilized my hydrangeas in spring and fall with espoma holly tone , but what food do I feed them in the summer?

    • @GardenObsessions
      @GardenObsessions  3 года назад

      Hydrangeas only need fertilizer once a season preferably in early spring. Use a slow release fertilizer as too much fertilizer can result in more foliage than blooms. We use Espoma due to its slow release properties. I hope this answers your question.💚💚💚💚💚💚

    I bought a hydrangea this weekend and it’s already wilting. What do I do?!!

    • @GardenObsessions
      @GardenObsessions  2 года назад

      What zone are you in and what type of hydrangea? And did you just planted? Hydrangea needs alot of water if it’s already hot in your area. If newly planted it can be in shock and needs some time to establish. When planting make sure to give Biotone so it can help it establish.

      @@GardenObsessions it’s Annabelle. No i still have it in the container. I moved it to the sun (it was in shade earlier) and watered. I’m crossing my fingers it perks back up!!! I hadn’t watered since this weekend bc I was scared id overwater.

    • @GardenObsessions
      @GardenObsessions  2 года назад +1

      @@_VICK_ Plants dry really fast in containers and hydrangea needs to be kept moist. It sounds like it just needs water. If you live in a hot gardening zone morning sun is best or in an area that gets dappled light through the day would be good. To much hot sun can make it wilt. Early spring is a great time to plant hydrangea it’s still cool abd it’s less likely to go into shock. Enjoy your beauty! Happy gardening!

    You dont tease your roots before you plant??

    • @GardenObsessions
      @GardenObsessions  3 года назад +2

      With hydrangeas we don’t normally tease the roots as they are shallow rooted feeders. They were not root bound so there is really no need to do so. If they were going in the ground more than likely we would have teased them if they were very root bound. The biotone used will ensure that they take in as much nutrients and thrive.💚💚💚💚💚💚

      Hello! Zone 4! Very different from ours but I bet there is a lot of beautiful plants that can grow in your area that we can’t grow. We move around a lot because of my husbands job but never lived in a zone 4. If we did ever move to a zone 4 we would definitely make it work. Look for all the beauty you can grow in your area. I’m curious now! Lol I will have to look up what grows in a zone 4. Have a wonderful week! 💐🙏💚💚💚💚💚💚
