Loving this Mr2 dude! The pipework is looking sick
thedownshiftchannel yo!
Sub to me and like my comment
thedownshiftchannel same here
Kyle was laying the pipe big times
Yes, pipework looks sick but i think he really should wrap all exhaust pipes . I don't think those WG's like extreme heat. Same for the intercooler. An intercooler is pointers of it sits in extreme heat.
get THE mr2 ROOF SCOOPS ON BOTH SIDES FOR TURBOOP INTAKES
andrewdini panda yessss
Thats right those oem twin roof scoops should help deliver cool air to the turbos.
Do it
That would definitely be a good find!
that would look so sick.
Put a hi temp protective sleeve over. 02 senser harness.. Nice work ! You got yourself a winner !! 👍
@@robbo4445 not supposed to put it in the bottom half of the pipe because condensation build up can destroy the sensor
@@robbo4445 Bung needs to be anywhere between 10 and 2. As pointed out condensation can build up and cause sensor issues if mounted too low.
rob stevens function over form should always be used on high performance builds like this
When it comes to fittings -10AN and above, sometimes they will leak out of that fitting hole when the two fittings are not the same exactly style. ORB to AN, British BSP to AN, or even two different brands of fittings. At least in our experience mixing race parts from around the globe.
Thanks, I appreciate that piece of knowledge.
What your opinion on taper savers? The teflon inserts? All we use in the marine industry no risk of gouging expensive lines
astro for the win keep up the good work guys .
can also be when fittings are designed , theyre designed to work with same brand fittings. and usually they manufacture their own line. or work with a specific line brand and recommend its use. recently bought Fragola line, and Russel fittings, and they are both top notch brands. but they dont work together. the slightest difference not in seat. but thread through the manufacture process . can also cause the leak . in this instance. i think its a seat issue. where the an male isnt bottoming out on the female receiver . allowing fluid to pass the sealing surface.
Subbed for that comment
That’s gotta be the best 4 cyl chop I’ve ever heard! Nice work!! 👍
That's because it was running way rich, it cleared up after he cleaned the idle up
bro seriously holy shit that's gonna hurt some feelings on the street
Phongs crx 👌
The jimmy neon has best chop for 4 cylinders
The old spoon na Civic
You should wrap that exhaust with header wrap, its going to melt the bumper for sure
Yup
Not to mention heat soak the intercooler
@@toreyweaver9708 it's no different than a older evo.
@@toreyweaver9708 the question is how that intercooler is going to get good airflow at all.
He needs to install some support struts... That exhaust will rattle like hell on that bumper
It's either you weld WAY more off camera than you let on, or you're just born to do it. Not one damn mistake.
Bro your e30 2jz build is dope big props
I'm pretty sure he did a welding course, there was a video with one of his teachers who taught him to weld
Night Kid thanks man, editing my dyno video right now.
Louis Modell my point being, he’s very good at what he’s doing.
@@WelcomeToTheMadness yeah i agree
You should get some clear Lexan polycarbonate to show off the engine instead of the original slotted ones... would look sick!
Or just not run a hatch. Mine i ran one, but only had it shut when parked. at around 160 km/h the hatch will fully open up due to the air flow.
Is this the longest BoostedBoiz build ever? It's nice to see you taking the time to do this right the first time
The $$$ he has invested in this build would just be Retarded 2 go and fuck it up from Rushing u know what they say u dnt Rush perfection and even tho it's not a one of custom built from the ground up car it Sure is one fine ass masterpiece from my point of view Hell I would put a clear bonnet on it as sweat as that engine bay looks...💪💪
I'm not an import dude and love that build
Honestly I think Brent and the pfi atmosphere is finally pushing him to do higher quality builds. Regardless, I love it.
Maybe because he went from having no money to having 700k on RUclips.
I'm not saying the wastegates should exit between the two exhaust pipes like an F40 but like...
recirc would be sicker for the fire balls
This^so much this
Don't use swivel AN fittings, they always eventually leak. Also, get that 10 micron fuel filter. THIS BUILD IS AMAZING!
I hope whoever is supplying the axles sees this and hurries the hell up
Probably made them saw this and went back to make them stronger!
Probably Chico raceworks
*Thank god you changed that oil* that looked real thin & contaminated, keep an eye on that Kyle 🙌🏻
Holy shit broontango, Love your vids.
I feel there may be an underlying issue
Look more like water other than gas is being mixed into that oil? Head gasket issue?
@@cavgonzales E85 has more water in it than regular gasoline.
Seemed like a lot to me also. I was wondering about head gasket also. It would make since on it overheating too. Wonder how much over the full mark it was.
Make the wastegate dumps exit right under the MR2 emblem. Quad tips
quiksilver0321 exactly what I was thinking would look sick
He's putting the parachute in the middle of the tips, around where the badge is.
I would have probably routed the gates a ways downstream from the turbos... It would make for an interesting light show.
Or do some intricate welding to have the wastegate dump in the middle of each exhaust tip, like a donut
I thought he should dump it behind the rear wheels. Blow off during a burnout will shoot smoke everywhere
Sounds sick! I’m sending you out something to help that engine bay. Look out for a package.
Ortiz Garage gonna bless this mans with a heat shield I hope 👍🏻
Legend
I love that Roman is in the videos. He’s like the background guy , glad to see him in the spotlight
Are you going to use a heat shield between the exhaust and intercooler?
MrDannyd9 the intercooler is below the exhaust and air will be riding through it from below the car, shouldn’t be an issue.
airflow for the mr2 comes from the bottom and out the top
the headers and exhaust will radiate heat in all directions, probably best to contain all the heat, ceramic coating, better for the turbos and unless kyle is forcing air through the intercooler from below that radiated heat will cause performance loss. cooler the air from the turbos and keeping the air cool from the intercooler will have discernible benefits in performance.
NOmad SZ absolutely that exhaust will be way more efficient at generating heat then the intercooler will be at reducing it. Would be best to keep it isolated as much as possible but that doesn’t seem to be the boostedboiz way
Kyle should have the trunk lid louvered like the engine cover. It might look cheesy but should help a lot.
The MR2 is sick. Don't want to see you drive it out until you got everything done on it. New wheels, ice box, axles, everything.. Loving the Engine bay, sick!
Can’t believe you’re already firing it!! Rob Dahm can learn a thing or two from you boiz

Three words: Roof scoop intake
YESSSSSS
Oh yeah
4 words: Twin Roof Scoop Intakes!
Roof scoop intercooler shroud
yeah i was looking in to that
I still have doubts on the efficiency of that intercooler. Everything else is just amazing.
Needs shrouding.
Without fans pulling in cold air, it is useless and might actually add heat to the charge due to the proximity to the turbos.
An icebox on top of it would work, or an Water to air intercooler would do the trick
Definitely needs the twin 12" fans but on a custom shroud that would also double as a heat sheild, incorporate some long 5-10mm slits to deal with the air flow from the scoop he plans to put underneath, I think this is essential to this car making power... Very quickly boost/timing limited without cold air, and with low air flow in a high heat area an air to air intercooler turns into a heat sink pretty quickly
@@ionutanghel2849 I agree, a water to air intercooler would have been the better choice for this particular situation.
Run the wastegate dumps out the stock exhaust locations in bumper
Trust me- get teflon taper savers. There a small teflon ring that sits on Male end of the AN fitting and seals much better. I used them on all AN or Flare when I can.
just have to tighten them down and looking them a few times to seat the aluminum sometimes them angles wrong
Yea an risk gouging the seat. Taper saver are a safe buffer used throughout the marine and aircraft industry.
@@rexrunner interesting, I have sold AN fittings for over 10 years and never used them, or ever needed them.
XSDUP rwd u have been doing it wrong for ten years. U see its hacks like u in my industry i hatebu should be homeless u are worthless what makes u think u can sell people garbage take their money. U idiot
I have been following this build in particular. Dude, you realize the craftsmanship and detail that you are putting into this build is unprecedented for this MR2...awesome work
Hell yea 🤙🏻🤙🏻I been waitin for this beast to start up 🔥🔥 keep up the work boostedboiz 👊🏻👊🏻
very refreshing to see a couple of young dudes that just know how to get it done ,your vision has completely come to life very neat and clean build you should be proud of yourself. i hope to see this beast rip it up at the track
That engine bay is a thing of beauty. Absolutely stunning the amount of work put into it
I know right? if someone from RUF saw this bay he'd be like _Boah got skills yo_ .
This build is sick. I like nothing more than seeing how much you guys help out one another and have nothing but positive support for each others builds. Can’t wait to see what she makes on the dyno. Over night them damn axles!
I’m stoked for those pops between shifts with that sequential tranny. Builds like those Aussie GTRs sound so cool going down the strip like bwaaahh *pop* bwahhh *pop* bwahhhhhhh...

The BYP MR2 has the sequential and it won drag battle at Cootamundra. 👍
MafiaboysWorld I know I was there
First time I've been excited about a honda powered vehicle in my entire life! You guys are the best, keep up the great work!
Yes kyle you should also grow a mullet...
Him and Brent should do it 🤣🤣🤣
I hope he's not that much of a follower.
No unless he ls swap the s14
The exhaust sounds sick, can't wait to see flames shooting out of it like a rocket
Should have put the 02 sensor on the bottom the X and make it look cleaner
Easier to change on top. But your right it would be cleaner
O2 sensors, especially wideband, are supposed to face downward with at least a 45 degree angle. Otherwise they collect moisture and will burn out very quickly.
What 802 garage said!!
You have done a great job on the engine and the bay, please make the exterior and interior just as good. Best build too date
Mr2’s engine bay looking so serious, truly a work of art. Can’t wait to see this thing rippp
Seriously the nicest work you have ever done. It's beautiful!
i love the pink valve cover but, lets be honest, wrinkle red would be perfect!
It definitely would but black might match a little better with the gates and such.
Dude, pipework and welding like a boss. Everything looks awesome, honestly never been a fan of an MR2, but you are have to be making this one the maddest around, super enjoying the build, going to be so super stoked for you when its all done to how you dream it !!!!
Hell yea it's Alive.... That much closer to hurting some feelings
That much closer to wheel stands!
Matthew Heal I’m hoping he’ll need a wheelie bar lol. Haven’t seen a youtuber need one of those recently.
Wrap that exhaust to keeps temps down around the intercooler
This would help a bunch
Dont tell him what todo.
From other MR2 builds I've seen as long as the intercooler is lower than the exhaust it will be fine because the way the air flows on the MR2 it comes from the bottom and goes up it'll be good and heat rises so hopefully it will enough with everything else
@@freedomfox8183 That will work only if the air has a path to escape, but there will be the trunk over the exhaust so even tho heat rises it has nowhere to escape.
IMNOTA hot air in the trunk dont fucking matter u idiot
New Boosted video? I'll cut the grass tomorrow.
Dougie Rotten no need they have a new shop goat 🐐 names Cleetus. Goat = No mowing.
Yup, that grass will still be there tomorrow man lol
Kyle's face when she finally started running 😄 priceless!
Senior Steez the car or Lesley?
That sounds exactly like the sound of hard work paying off keep going man soon be giving out gap insurance in Mexico 🇲🇽👍
It's a tough job, but someone's gotta do it.
"Got the pump just kind of ghetto wired up *for now*" -famous words of Kyle
I say leave the pink valve cover on and call the car Leslie ;)
Bill Gaudette not a bad idea
I died reading this
Keep Austin Weird
And leave that hat.
Absolute legend. What an outcome to a lengthy process. Again, such awesome welds that I’m happy to watch being done all day. But the attention to detail is just amazing. The sound was out of this world. The cams rock. Brent and his handy work pays off once again. Love the build. Can’t wait for it to be up and making passes. 👊🏻😎
Exhausts above the intercooler and wastegate's exit below it... Where is it going to get any cool air from??
Haven't seen the ICE box??
Can't wait to see it Ripping!!
It’s called fans blowing up from below
Heat rises
Never seen any intercooler/oil cooler underneath some car? They exists.
Don't you know how the airflow works ? it's going to be coming from below the intercooler and pushing the air up towards the exhaust not the other way around and they all know what they're doing Brent or one of the other OGs would have told him not to do it if it wasn't a good idea, he tunes home builds everyday and he knows what works and what doesn't ..
Kyle, it's beautiful. I've been waiting for this day. First start of the TT K/MR2. Great job building it. You're a master fabricator and welder.
Them turbos need a support. Few heat cycles and that manifold will end up cracking
Good point, well made. I hope this happens sooner rather than later, obviously pays to wait until the the oil feeds/drain and the wastegate dumps are done so he knows what free space he has to work with
I gotta say Kyle, I almost got on the "Get on with it" train, but I held fast, and had faith that what you had planned was going to be worth it. I'll tell you what, this is SICK. Keep up the great work!
We are always waiting for the new videos
Such a rowdy build.
Can't wait to see another 1320 video featuring Kyle and another bat-shit crazy boosted build.
Got the notification right as Hayden’s video was finishing. Hell yeah brother
So cool to hear the idle sound change in real time as the tuner makes adjustments.
Great job guys. Thank God I got my daily dose of Brent. No posted today and I'm going cold turkey
so happy for you kyle what an incredible journey you've done an amazing job with this beast cant wait to see her ripppp
That oil looked scary! Just as well you changed it. Hey some roof scoops could be cool, there’s a company that makes them
Saw this build from start to finish. Amazing build came out super sick
Kyle, when are you going to lighten up the Prelude brother??? Plexiglass, lexan, remove the mirrors, remove all the useless hoses wires and smooth out underneath, get a weight plate for it... were all routing for you! Let's see here deep in the 9's / might I be so bold as to say 8's possibly!!!!
Turned up a touch with bigger/secondary injectors, a weight plate on a prepped track at sea level... would put this damn close to if not IN the 8s.. the weight saving and a flat floor would guarantee it 🙏
@@joelucas6601 if only he would see and read this🤔
I'm sure he knows, only have so much time/money I guess, easy to forget track time costs big money with big HP, more fuel, more expensive tyres that dont last as long, gas for the trip there and back as I think they are still at least an hour away ? not to mention sign up fees and breaking things then having to split his RUclips earnings with the boiz... genuinely interested as to whether he still works a job or not .?? If so we needa quit giving him shit about taking so long to finish things 😂😂

You make a good point my man
Kyle your progression as a fabricator has been awesome to watch and you should be super proud of this project, it's looking wicked! Cant wait to see it hurt some feelings at the track!!
Fans for the intercooler?
Or a scoop underneath?
@@pyrocl0 why not both
@@grumples1517 ya I'm with you on this.

@@shanemonsees4798 I was also thinking it might cause lift in the rear at high speeds.
Its awesome seeing the fab skills improving though the years! Keep killin it.
You should really wrap the exhaust with some heat shield. The radiating heat could warm up the inter cooler

Drinking game: Take a drink every time Kyle says mrTWO!
Definetly the best sounding 4 cylinder I’ve ever heard even sounds better than many V8s in my opinion can’t wait to see the first drive
That thing sounds great! On par with Tom's boat.
Can we all admire the fact that Brent is always pumped, everybody's car no matter what he is so happy to get in therr and work his magic.
Is it just me but the sound kinda reminds me of a rotary
I taught the same thing
Fuck yes!!!! I’m so stoked I was almost jumping up n down when it started. It’s been super awesome watching this engine go from a stripped down block to a running twin turbo K24 that sounds incredible. Congrats Kyle, you def deserve this
Next video “Twin Turbo Mr2 Makes 1000hp on the Dyno”
Prolly more like 500 because of that stupid intercooler setup
"mr2 can't keep traction on the dyno!"
Nico van Duin he built the whole thing, it’s not like he can’t change it if IATs are high..
Kyle may need to do a few more small mods to reduce intake temps but it's possible. There's a single turbo K swappped mr2 in Australia that makes 900hp and runs high 8's on an unprepped airstrip so I can't wait to see what Kyles can run once he gets everything ironed out and running right.
This has definitely become my favorite build on the channel! That thing sounds wicked. The motor and pipe work looks so good.
are you worried about the temp from the manifold cooking your gate?
hope he doesn't plan to use vacuum lines for those lol
I am so glad you still have the pink valve cover, looks dope
Should have put the afr sensor on the bottom of the exhaust dude
Easier for condensation to sit on them though.
Fair point never thought lol
Best was to ruin a good sensor
@@garylovesit yea can't do that unless you have a sensor sponsor lol
top is better, pref at an angle. bottom can accumulate condensation and fuck the sensor. hood exit exhaust here, learned a lot about sensors after going through 4 in a month haha
Man it was loping like a big block for a second....great work man and it shows seriously....I bet right off the trailer this car is gonna be wicked fast you took your time and did this one right!!!
Kyle four bangs everything including leslie 🤣🖖
A race between turbos , you have to be kidding me,the boostedboiz are awesome
Dang I guess we didn't learn much from cleetus about welding wastegates at 90 degree angles.
Nathanael Naused Cletus only ran one gate. This has two. For a small engine too. It’s very common to weld them in this orientation and rarely is it an issue unless the gate is far too small.
@@mdnovaman Not my car, we'll see how it works but I respectfully disagree with that reasoning. Maybe just because I have a different mindset when it comes to the way I build things.
This was sooo awesome, I've watched the whole build dude and it sounded soo nasty when u started it lol, so pumped and can't wait to see you take it for its first spin!
Heat strap the intercooler hoses seen they are close to the exhausts just a little help sick set up MR2 its looking 😎💯💪😇🙏

Ktuned garbage. Everyone I know with the swivel neck has a leak
As soon as I saw that early video I literally said “that’s going to leak.” And first start, it leaked🤣 Ktuned stuff is junk
because AN fittings and threads aren’t meant to seal there is a spiral gap left in the threads that will always leak no matter how hard you tighten all you need is a filler being gasket maker or teflon it’s not garbage it’s just knowing how to use what you’re buying.
Has nothing to do with K Tuned... lmao it's the type of fitting and what it's being used for... Ktuned is far from garbage.. I've literally never had a quality control but have had the same issue with other fittings similar like that not from Ktuned it's a crapshoot on certain fittings
Ktuned is garbage. IS as in currently. They used to make good stuff before mass producing in China. Then when you try to get a replacement or your money back on a defective item they say it was improperly installed. Way better options out there for the overpriced stuff they sell
Check the rsx owners group or the k20a group on Facebook and see what they have to say 😂
it sounds great!
jack the front end up high to get the radiator as high as possible, run it through a couple thermal cycles, so the air bubble will work their way forward. then purge the air..
