It could be metaphorical or rhetorical due to the style of this game and the old age feel to it but in that time, due to the fact royal blood in monarchy were typically tyrants. Anyone of royal blood would be tortured by citizens once overruled due to common revolutions because of tyranny. EDIT: Actually, I'd also like to mention his attire. Not only is he in jail, his royal wear seems have been exchanged with a peasant cloak seemingly made of the same material as a potato sack. That's peasant wear. He's been demoted and put down into a peasant, meant to die out in that jail. Had it been not for the werewolf, he'd probably have lived there until execution by the king or citizens or just sit there till he died of old age or sickness or starvation. It wasn't mandatory to feed people in jail at the time. EDIT 2: REWATCHED IT AGAIN, it's weird to edit so many times. Anywho, it's also good to know that back then, witches and anything out of the ordinary could and would execute you. It's possible the prince was put down also because, if a child heard something or saw something that caught their attention, they'll call it out to their parents, friends, anyone they know and like to tell the story. Unfortunately, this might'v caused him his demise.

Trailer is neat but the game is pretty much revolves around puzzle escort missions with very minimal combat. It's already been released in Japan and there is full gameplay footage of it, so check it out if you're interested. My thoughts is that if you're more interested in a simple anime-esque fairy-tail story, go for it. But as a game its somewhat simplistic.

Simplistic gameplay isn't that much of a downside in my book but it'll take some endearing characters for me to be able to enjoy the game without interesting mechanics.

I don't know...it seems that way at first, but then why go through with the disguise? It's hard to tell for sure but it seems like the boy fell victim to a coup, one that blinded him, stripped him of his crown, and locked him away. Perhaps there's something else he wasn't meant to see...guess we'll have to play the game and figure it out.

I love how this premise while isn't actually based off an existing story it is a fairytale through and through and you don't see that anymore you don't see anyone try to unironically tell us a fairytale anymore I mean I love Shrek You Love Shrek we all love Shrek but damn everyone thinks they have to be Shrek in order to be taken seriously as a fairy tale movie nowadays. This story has the perfect setup the perfect premise and seems to be falling the fairytale mold. A monster falls in love with a prince whom she cripppled. His father hates facial imperfections so he punishes his son. The monster tries to protect the boy but refuses to let him know what she really is. I've heard that story before there are stories like that and they are beautiful and simple and we don't take them seriously. They're not logical but boy do they carry so much weight
So let me get this straight. The Liar princess aka the wolf sings so beautiful that the Prince was lured to her. She, attracted by the young prince herself or flattened by his praising of her voice fell in love with him. On his way, he got his eyes slashed out and imprisoned. She in the mean time made a deal with a whitch that supposly helps you to find love and got granted that human form, with the major upsite to be able to transform at will to fight off any harm. I would assume that the deal with the witch forced her to lie to the prince otherwise thespell will be broken. I can already see her reavealing her true self while he is dieying in her arms, his last words being that she still is the one he holds dear. Well or she dies protecting him and he will be searching her to the day he dies...

Dear lord, The artistic value of this game looks incredible. Great used of the color scheme. The story is vague (Which is probably what you'all aimed for) but looks blissful, But obviously also dark with many Sharp turns. The music is Harmonious yet make me feel on edge... The duo looks endearing, I'm curious what 'll come from this game, But you've tickled my curiosity... It looks like a rollercoaster, where to sign so I can catch my ride, And can jump aboard the hype-train.
I mean, that's obvious, it's an actual very good singer rather than a synthesised voice. As for the design of the songs themselves, She is my favorite composer of all time, period, so I'll have to definitely agree with you there. That doesn't mean that the various vocaloid composers aren't also very good as well though.

Can't really think of any other games with quite the same soundtrack style (although NieR is probably the closest) but Akiko Shikata, the composer and singer for this song has released a ton of standalone albums and OSTs, good few hours of it.
I saw this game in the Japanese eshop and put it in my wishlist, and now is finally coming so i'll be able to play it in english, maybe im 2 weeks later but im super happy that we are going to get this game
Got a mix feeling about this game. While it has really good OP/ED music, beautiful art style and good atmosphere. This game as a game is too expensive for it's price. It costs 6980yen (about 63USD) in Japan which is almost a price of any 3A games (without dlc :P) and the game only last..well if you are not bad at platform game, it can be finished in 3~4 hours. So...yea, reaaallly mixed feeling.

Trailer is neat but the game is pretty much revolves around puzzle escort missions with very minimal combat. It's already been released in Japan and there is full gameplay footage of it, so check it out if you're interested.
My thoughts is that if you're more interested in a simple anime-esque fairy-tail story, go for it. But as a game its somewhat simplistic.

Thanks for the input! I'm rather interested but I'll go look up some of the Japanese gameplay you mentioned before deciding to get this. Simplistic gameplay isn't that much of a downside in my book but it'll take some endearing characters for me to be able to enjoy the game without interesting mechanics.
I think the puzzle solving to get through the levels without wasting time or dying was interesting to me. I actually ragequit a couple of times haha

I don't know...it seems that way at first, but then why go through with the disguise? It's hard to tell for sure but it seems like the boy fell victim to a coup, one that blinded him, stripped him of his crown, and locked him away. Perhaps there's something else he wasn't meant to see...guess we'll have to play the game and figure it out.

I love how this premise while isn't actually based off an existing story it is a fairytale through and through and you don't see that anymore you don't see anyone try to unironically tell us a fairytale anymore I mean I love Shrek You Love Shrek we all love Shrek but damn everyone thinks they have to be Shrek in order to be taken seriously as a fairy tale movie nowadays. This story has the perfect setup the perfect premise and seems to be falling the fairytale mold. A monster falls in love with a prince whom she cripppled. His father hates facial imperfections so he punishes his son. The monster tries to protect the boy but refuses to let him know what she really is. I've heard that story before there are stories like that and they are beautiful and simple and we don't take them seriously. They're not logical but boy do they carry so much weight

On his way, he got his eyes slashed out and imprisoned.
She in the mean time made a deal with a whitch that supposly helps you to find love and got granted that human form, with the major upsite to be able to transform at will to fight off any harm.
I would assume that the deal with the witch forced her to lie to the prince otherwise thespell will be broken.
I can already see her reavealing her true self while he is dieying in her arms, his last words being that she still is the one he holds dear.
Well or she dies protecting him and he will be searching her to the day he dies...

Akiko Shikata tends to trump Vocaloids with ease. Her stuff is all amazing.
I mean, that's obvious, it's an actual very good singer rather than a synthesised voice.
As for the design of the songs themselves, She is my favorite composer of all time, period, so I'll have to definitely agree with you there.
That doesn't mean that the various vocaloid composers aren't also very good as well though.

DEEMO is a game like it musically, especially since deemo is a rythem game
Can't really think of any other games with quite the same soundtrack style (although NieR is probably the closest) but Akiko Shikata, the composer and singer for this song has released a ton of standalone albums and OSTs, good few hours of it.
NIS has also produced A Rose in the Twilight and Firefly Diary, if you're interested.

Got a mix feeling about this game. While it has really good OP/ED music, beautiful art style and good atmosphere. This game as a game is too expensive for it's price. It costs 6980yen (about 63USD) in Japan which is almost a price of any 3A games (without dlc :P) and the game only last..well if you are not bad at platform game, it can be finished in 3~4 hours. So...yea, reaaallly mixed feeling.
