BLUER OCEAN STORIES | Pt.3 : Resilience

Throughout the 3 years of the project’s existence, the corals have had a pretty normal growth in relatively optimal conditions. For the first time since we started the project, we’ve witnessed the El Niño Phenomenon and the highest recorded water temperature peaked at 32.8°C. While the initial idea was to propagate coral nubbins that we thought would possess the resistance genes which would hopefully withstand futur El Niños, the truth was that there wasn’t any sort of guarantee that they would perform as expected.
