You´re one of my favorite bike reviewers since I first saw your Winspace agile review. I appreciate your transparency and honest criticism. Keep it up 👊
I’ve commented more or less the same on Winspace IG posts. The wheels need to be at least 33-35mm on the front. Look at the recent GrandFondo wheel test. The tops spots are taken by wheels with huge outer widths. Great review too!
Would you say that the Elite Drive or the new Drive Helix (steel spokes version) is better towards an all round wheelset with a focus on climbing and decent comfort?
I have not tried HELIX (SS) wheels yet. I like their design more and I expect them to be a bit more comfortable and less agile. But I can be wrong. :-)
I did buy the Winspace Hyper D45 SE 2023 wheelset and had horrific experiences with it. The bearings, of at least my rear wheel, are super rough and have high resistance. Compared to a DT Swiss 350 Hub, the Hyper wheels didnt do well. Also the freehub destroyed itself after few days of riding in the hills, which led to a horrible creaking noise. Winspace then sent me a new freehub, which i had to pay for (customs and delivery) without telling me. After one week the same issue occured again. The problem is that the bearing of the freehub allways comes lose and fall out. So if you are a rider with some Watts i cant recommend this brand.
Wow, I'm sorry to hear about that. It seems you are talking about HYPER 2023, right? I've used the HYPER 2023 SE, rode about 1000 km on them, and the bearings were absolutely fine. 🤷♂️ Do you consider another brand now? Eventually, which one?
i finally got my agile misty purple its really outperform yeoleo r12 by a big margin! i wanted to change to hyper3 actually but because of the 28OD i had to look elsewhere and found myself with light bicycle pro falcon wheels with 34OD it matches great!
@@cyclistshub looking forward to your thoughts on the farsports....still on my hyper 2020's but the weight (lack of) of the farsports makes them tempting.
@@global_nomad. Farsports are awesome. I have two pairs. Some of my teammates also have them farspot wheels ( they win cat 1 crits... I just try to help out). Also I got mine for way below asking price, just email them and ask for a discount. They also have some 34mm wide rims too that you can get if you ask, and amazingly the wide rims are still super light.
The tire-rim transition won't be as smooth, but as an amateur, you probably won't notice the difference in speed. :-) You can learn more here: www.cyclistshub.com/tire-width-vs-rim-width/
@ only have the new T1550 gen 2 frameset. I’m judging them on the fact other companies are managing to make lighter, wider and cheaper wheels. I understand they are more of a brand now so naturally they will increase the price but for wheels I wouldn’t get them now. I have magene db508 ultrablack and they are wider and far cheaper whilst being great quality
Honestly, since the 2023 model wheels they were already thinner than other competitors, and they have been very conservative in that regard since the first models. The MEGAS are interesting but in price comparison the winspace lineup in general hasn't felt like the best option for some time
It's crazy how fast things are moving. It's only recently that we've started talking about rim widths, when the 2024 designs have already been finalized, so should manufacturers start designing 35mm wide road wheels now for the 2026 season? :-D
You should try better tires. I have comtura 4tr on my commuting bike, great puncture resistance and durability, but they are slow with poor wet grip. On my both racing bikes I have Veloflex Corsa Evo, fast and supple tires but a bit worn now, so I'm going to get a Tufo comtura prima, which looks to have even better wet grip and lower rolling resistance.
Hi Roman, well, it's a bit complicated. I tested 15+ wheelsets with these tires to keep things consistent. Furthermore, I want to support local manufacturer and they are pretty affordable. I buy tires myself, basically for each new wheelset. So, it's a big difference if the tires are $40 or $70. 🤷♂️ I am satisfied with their puncture resistance, but it's true their rolling resistence is not the best.
@@cyclistshub I have only comtura 3tr and 4tr from Tufo actually on my commuter/gravel bike. I bought a few sets of Veloflex Corsa cotton tires some time ago for very good price, very supple and light tires. Those new endurance tufos are too heavy for my liking, and according to bicyclerolligresisteance they are only slightly faster with lesser puncture resistance and similar wet grip. So my pick are definitely Comtura Prima 👍
In my opinion, the quality of their products is still high. The question is, what are you after? Their wheels are one of the stiffest on the market. Compared to most Western brands, they provide excellent value. Compared to some recently released Chinese wheels, that's another story.
Would be cool if you could do a chinese frame shootout. seka spear, winspace t1550 gen 2, tavelo arow, Bigrock aero, ogevkin Loong. Then also get Western brand like Factor Astro vam or Tarmac SL8 to compare them. I would pay to see that comparison.
If I win the lottery that's the kind of youtube channel I'd have, and I'd strip all the paint off all the frames so my testers don't really know what they are when testing.
I think Winspace is becoming more and more overpriced. I agree with you that people who buy Chinese brands ultimately look for the best value for money product and not necessarily are willing to pay for overgrown other expanses of the brand.

farsports new evo s series is more caught my attention.
I'm currently testing the Farsports C5 wheels (there is a sneak peak of them in tis video). :-)

Actually today I had another puncture on my Veloflex tire due to worn thread, need to buy new tufos as soon as possible 😅
What is your height and seat height? Thinking about a Winspace agile
185cm and 76cm, bike is size 51 (L)
Do you still think the Windspace frame is very good and would you buy it again?

I am satisfied with Agile. But of course, I would like to try more frames to have a better comparison. 😊

The western brands you named are manufacturered by the Chinese brands you named.
black valve caps are more cool mate! :D
:-D I don't think so.
the first mistake is disc brake only
Well, from the business point of view, I absolutely understand that. :-)
@cyclistshub actually I happy with Hyper 2023 R45 and with the Hyper 3 no rim brake option, I don't have to upgrade. Anyway Love your review!
Cool ;-)

Do you have any experience with Chinese carbon products, or do you plan to buy some? :)
It’s a shame but internal and external are both too narrow In my humble opinion
How much do you think would be appropriate?
@ now a days 23mm or above seem to be the better option or it could just be the new fashion
At that price just 2-3 year warranty 👎🏻. Zipp all day for me.
Hi Lee, which Zipp wheels do you use and can you compare with other carbon wheels? :-)
@ 404 Firecrest, some places have for sale at 1700, lifetime warranty.
Good, no problems with hookless design yet?
