    I had a problem with a Von Haus trimmer that had seized and wouldn't turn. I looked online for help and found this site. As I watched the video I realised that all strimmers worked on a similar principle and that the instructions to take it apart were very clearly expressed and visually displayed. As such, I felt confident to take my strimmer apart and managed to get it working again. That solved my problem and saved me money. A big Thank You for a very professional and helpful tutorial.

    Left my trimmer outside under the carport underneath a tarp.It runs fine but blades rusted and won't turn.1st thought was to replace blades but will try the steps you covered in this excellent video. A million thanks, young man.

      Thank you. I would just recommend a good grease for high speed and high temp.

    Thanks 👍 I got a mountfeild MHJ 24 24 HEGE cutter with the same problem but mine is two stroke if the drive shaft does not go around wot do I do next to fix it mate Dave thanks for your help

    • @247parts
      @247parts  Год назад

      If the drive shaft won't turn then you have a bigger issue in the motor. It could be many things at this point.

    That gearbox looks very different from the ones on my petrol hedgecutters, principles the same though. Strip mine down at least once a year!

    My trimmer was working fine! Hit a branch that was to thick, now it doesn't trim anything though the blades are moving. Maybe they aren't opening far enough?
    I didn't notice any obstructions.

    Good video, except you should have taken the battery out before you put it back together, an accident waiting to happen!!

    Where can I find torque specs? I've heard over-torquing can freeze a hedget trimmer blade. Thank you.

      I would go to STIHL’s website and download the manual for your trimmer.

    How often should a hedge trimmer be regressed?

    • @247parts

      It is recommended after every 50 hours of use.

    Respect! But I do feel a little aggrieved. Three things? One, clear any debris. Easily done. Two, see if there are any bent blades. OK, that's simple. Three, STRIP DOWN YOUR HEDGE TRIMMER, REPLACE ANY PARTS AND REASSEMBLE IT. Yikes!!

    • @247parts
      @247parts  Год назад

      I know it can seem intimidating but most trimmers aren't any more complex than this one so if it comes down to it then you should easily be able to do it by watching this vid.
