We are officially moved in and in the flows of van living.
The first week was wonderful; albeit very emotional.
I didn't prioritise filming as it was a lot to get used to, but I managed to get some clips together to tell a brief story of my week.
Just know I spend about an hour each day looking around the van, in sheer awe of what we've created.
I am very much loving it.

I remember driving those hairpins in my 20 yr old Transit Camper. My wife laughs at me for leaning forward and rocking as if it is going to help make the van go faster 😂

I started full time van life in November in my LWB Sprinter,had to walk away from my two daughters due to there mothers extra curricular activities!
Van life is the only way I can stay close to my two daughters who are 4 and 8!

Not finding it to bad,spent years as a HGV driver so sleeping in a van is very similar to sleeping in a truck!
Same as everything you have good days and bad days! Seeing my two daughters everyday to only seeing them every other weekend with the occasional evening in the week is tough!
One thing I would advise is any little job that needs doing on your van,just get it done!
If it’s only an advisory on a MOT just get it done,after all your van is your life!

If your plant is a peace lily, don’t let your gorgeous cat eat it - they’re toxic, not fatal, but nasty for cats.
Every part of lilies are potentially lethal to a cat, including the pollen... please google the plants carefully! 😮

Heads up, Halfrauds ought to have told you not to touch the new halogen bulb, the oil from your skin will either blow the bulb straight away or severely reduce its life.

Savannah is a Mainecoon cat. They are a spectacular breed 🥰
@@myvanworld my eldest daughter has a male Maine Coon. He’s ginger and soft as a brush usually. Highly intelligent and very independent. Very protective of my granddaughter and will go for walks around the housing estate where they live with them. His name is Bundle
My fiance and I are working on securing our can and if all goes well we could be on the road by summer. We can’t stop talking about it, I know I’m going to be just as emotional as you are. We’ve both put our life on hold so many times for family, partners, life. We’re finally chasing our dreams and I keep pinching myself. Thank you for sharing your journey and thoughts and emotions - and your sweet baby girl is doing wonderfully. What a beauty she is💜 lots of love to you both ✨

Oh Becca that first few seconds really got me in my emotional centre❤ What a rebirth for you from looking death in the face and now, looking life ahead. No wonder you are so emotional. It would be a huge step for any of us but for you, having gone through what you did, this is nothing short of monumental. This video more than any Ive watched from any youtuber other than the fabulous Mandy (whose story echoes yours from John and Mandy), absoloutely shouts "One life LIVE IT!" you should deffo seek out like minded people to bimble with. I have mental health issues and struggle to travel alone. I've spent two years rebuilding Viv and being driven to use her to get a life, yet I'll turn round as soon as I go off anywhere and go back home. When I know I;'m going to be with friends, I'm ok with going out in Viv. Ive found it builds my confidence and I'm sure you feel the same- though I really do admire you settling into solo van life. You're doing it!!! Its incredible!!! I'm so proud of how you fought to get where you are and the seemingly impossibe battle you won! You are quite simply amazing and every tear you shed is a testament to where you have come. Can I say also that you brought back many happy memories of my blue cream long haired Persian Mysha. She loved vanlife when I went away with my late mum and loved going on harness and lead. I believe Savannah is going t be the furbie star of the show. You’re right - the more I’m doing it the more my confidence grows. I’m sat on my chair out the back of the van now. Didn’t dare do that the first week.
I’m overlooking empty fields. It’s completely silent other than the birds & a noisy pheasant couple in the bush next to me. I can’t even hear a road.
It’s idillic.
I’m so happy I could cry. I wouldn’t be here without the tumour. In a weird way I’m super grateful for my challenges now. It was a vile decade, but I’m So much better off for it now.

Oh no in my council area if you live in your van full time they charge you council tax because so ma.y people are chosimg this lifestyle because of all the added extra bills so the government will do anything to claw money bck. I'd tell them you have to find me before I pay it 😂

Hello sweetie, I understand completely how you feel because I’m about to embark on a journey in my home on wheels too, a new chapter. A promise made to myself following cancer almost 9 years ago. It’s been 6 1/2 long years of research and saving up for a van and 2 1/2 years of stress, building it out and sorting out issues with the build. I have one last thing to fix then I’m good to go. Honestly, I can’t wait to go and get my independence back but I can see me getting emotional too when it happens . Be proud of yourself lovely there are so many amazing things to discover in this new life chapter and you have everything you need with you to be happy 😘😁

I can’t tell you when the emotional aspect goes because each day I feel so lucky still, & I look around my van in awe of what we created. Every day. I’ve never felt freedom & peace like this.

Thank you 🙏 I needed to hear that. Because this van has been a money pit and it has been getting me down quite a bit. When all I wanna do is just jump in and go. How do you manage with a cat in tow? I lost my cat and dog last year and will be getting a new addition to the family at some point. Probably a dog but I’m intrigued about how people manage with their different pets 😘

I’m amazed at how well Savannah (cat) is doing. She knows signals now; like when I take off the steering lock, she goes into her ‘travel position’ & when the engine goes off she jumps in the cab with me to look around our spot.
I’ve had her on a long lead & hooked it to the van so she can explore on her own & she loves that.
I’m sure in time I’ll be able to let her off & she’ll come back on her own. She already does on the lead.
Animals are amazing. And if you’re a solo traveller like me I highly recommend a furry companion. It’s great having her with me in here.

I took my van to devon last momth and was stressful climbing the roads after i got off M5 to Torquay. But i got there lol . Great video .inspiring .

Beautiful cat! 😊 Be so, so, so careful of condensation. I've seen some scary vans (online )who had that trouble. I am British but I live in Canada.
