i just finished my first custom build and this video was my ideal sound profile. mine sounds almost exactly the same and i'm so happy with it. i used pbt keycaps and oil kings in a polycarbonate board, although i had to add plate foam and tape mod to really get close to your sound. thanks for the inspiration

@@purplootofu if you wanna go for more thock, then I would recommend the Code PBT Keycaps from kinetic labs! But they are black and green. However there are other keycaps like the Botanical Keycaps that are pretty good too!

yep, these switches are really overlubed, and it wasn’t me who lubed them. This is the factory lube lol but lol yeah expect for that it’s just a thocky sounding keyboard haha. Thank you for commenting :)

Hi! Nope, I didn’t do the bandaid mod in my stabs! I balanced the wire and then just lubed them with krytox 205g0. I’ve done the bandaid mod before and it requires insane amount of patience. I recommend doing the band aid mod if you hear rattle or ticking noise in your stabs even after lubing it. It is very effective, but it can be quite difficult and frustrating at first! :)

@@Beaver_XDi already have cherry profile keycaps, but its the gmk botanical clone and for the oil kings it's lubed already as well. Maybe you use no tape mod and I use 2 layer of tape??
i buildet my first custom keyboard and im not happy how it turned out. i used gateron black switches, aluminum plate, tofu60, and used foam,pe foam, tape mod and every key sounds diffrend and every stabilizer key sounds bad. im gonna get new stabilizers and lobe the stabilizers and the gaterons my self. hope they will tuned great.
@@zApS1k if possible, try changing the plate to a polycarbonate, maybe that will make it more dampened and better. Definitely lubing the switches will help! Let me know how it turns out after and also let me know if you need other help :)

Ikr? They are insanley expensive and that is why I didn't order a full set lol I only ordered like 54 switches which costed me around $35.10 on kinetic labs :)

hey! So in order to get a creamy sound, you’ll need to use all foams and a pc plate. Also, you’ll need a deep sounding switch like gateron oil kings. Let me know if you have any questions. Good luck with your build :)

i heard the factory lube of the oil kings is not so great, i recommend getting either cherry mx blacks, mode obscuras, or gateron cream sodas those are all nice switches (my personal fav is mx blacks when spring swapped filmed and lubed a little) it does depend on what your preference is tho, mx blacks will give some scratch which is really satisfying and is just known for its signature sound, obscuras will give you that loud clack and sounds really poppy, gateron cream sodas are kinda on the muted side but are creamy if you like that
