OMG - lifesaver. Could not figure out how to remove these. Tried a screwdriver in the back clip just like your video says NOT to do, and was about to give up but your video saved the day!
I watched a few too many videos for every other sort of blind, and even how to install these - was just about to give up, when the algorithm started to auto-play this video. You saved the day. Thank you.
Good Job mxdaddy, the Mack Daddy of all window shade removal!!! Having replacement windows installed tomorrow, I took 21 of these down in the last 50 minutes, several 6-8 feet in length. You can also just take your fist and just bump the front frame directly in front of the clip, no damage will occur(except a sore right side of your fist for a few hours), the top groove connection will release, like in the video above, and you may experience some issues with the bottom "spring" clip section. Take a small, wide blade screwdriver. It fits perfectly in the "hole" of the bottom clip and gently push back for the stubborn ones that just don't want to leave your beautiful windows. It is not as easy as this gentleman showed. I wish mine were not as stubborn, but follow the above and they will be out in 10 seconds. Putting them back in, is the easier part of this project. Good luck!!!! And the darkening shades he alluded to, will give your bedroom, or any room, complete sun-light , or any outside light, total deflection. One caveat, if you do not raise and lower these shades periodically, which we do not in the bedrooms, they will loose some of their accordion effect. Just shake them a little and the shade will move more freely! Hope this adds to this concise, easy video solution!!! Again, a great video!!!
This helped me so much. It made me feel better about being more aggressive with removal. I also have very small hands and can't reach anything from the bottom of the blinds.
I can’t thank you enough for your demonstration. I’ve been struggling with getting these blinds off for years as I’ve had to replace the cords. Thank you thank you thank you thank you thank you!🎉
Wow, my poor boyfriend was having a horrible day already, thought he was going to have to tear these new blinds up to get them off after putting them on the wrong window! Thank God for you tube tutorials!!!!
You're amazing. After struggling for 15 minutes, and trying the screwdriver prying trick, I searched for a better way. Your video popped up & just like you said, it was off in seconds! Thank-you SO much!
Wow, you’re awesome! I was struggling too and decided to check youtube. Sure enough a home repairman had the same problem. Now that I see the easy removal method, I seem to remember how I installed them. Ha, did the same thing with a screwdriver you did. You know trying to force the removal. All that is needed for each attachment bracket is for the unit to be pushed back enough to clear the front tab then rotate down for removal. There had to be a simple “trick.” THANKS SO MUCH!
I work for Lowes and sell Levolor a lot. I even have Levelor in my own bedroom that I’m trying to replace. This is *extremely* helpful, both as a customer and as a home decor employee!!
Thank you. I had forgottern how to remove and re-install my cellular blinds. I tired your method and it only took me two tries. I found I just needed to be a little higher up and so I used my painters ladder and mission accomplished.
Thank you !!! I’ve been struggling with the removal instructions that Bali has and it’s the screwdriver trick that doesn’t work and is even dangerous 🥺 You saved me!
Thanks so much. I realized this was gonna be a problem before I even installed them and I was thinking about returning them. Now I feel confident I can install them and remove them later if need be
Thank you! I didn't want to install these blinds because I saw no way to remove them - for painting and such. I've installed many different types of blinds over the years and they all involved the screwdriver method you mentioned.
After about 5 minutes of pryng with a screw driver I just had enough, lost my cool and ripper one down. But only the shade ripped out causing me to continue to pry at it till it came off. Now with your video I can put the old piece back on and off again. All the other windows are much happier to see me coming now.. LOL 🤣😂🤣😂
Oh my gosh finally a helpful video, I hope this works, the summers are getting worse and these paper blinds aren't cutting the mustard. I hope my landlord understands. NO MORE PAPER OR PLASTIC, going with old school ( black out curtains ). Thank you for your video
Thanks for the tip. I'm replacing an end piece for the pull down version. Our older Levolor cellular blinds clip differently and FWIW, had a rod in the top that rotated winding up the lifting cords with a continuous cord loop at the end. Much better design (occasional cord loop failure, but an easy fix.). Ours are over 6' long horizontal so the strain on the end is visible with every lift.
Bro thank you. I consider myself pretty handy and I was close to ripping the damn thing off the wall. Smiled when I saw your video and said if this works these kids are spoiled with RUclips. Thank you!
This just saved my day!!! Felt like such an idiot. I’ve been sliding them out, cuz mine are on the outside of the window, and creating a bunch of shavings from the plastic.
We thought you were bragging with your title, but it really was that easy. Thanks for starting with what doesn't work, the screwdriver in the slot! (We had tried that.) Then the push and pull did the trick. High fives all around.
Thank-you for the awesome tip on the blind removal. My wife and I were getting ready to use a crowbar... We also determined that sometimes instead of the 'push in and roll down' method, every once in a while you have to 'push in and bang (lightly) down on the front edge' to get them to cooperate. PS - I was expecting the overall quality to be better also, but I guess that time has passed, unless you want to spend $400 per blind...
I have been prying them off as they seem not to last more than a couple of years and the one I have to replace is only 3 months old. Changing them tonight thanks.
Sir.....thank you is not enough. You just prevented a grown man from having a toddler tantrum.
well explained, you spoke Clearly, loud, and not too fast, you also took a good video of it well done !!!!!

I never would have figured this out on my own. Thank you for posting this! So easy!

Greatly appreciate your comment. i had to use a rubber mallet to hit this 'straight back' so it can finally get it loose enough to twist it down.
Oh my gosh! Thank you so much! I was also struggling trying to figure out. I never would have without your video.

I was perplexed on how to remove these shades - but a quick search helped out. The instructions were very clear. Thank you!
I messed with this for a while and finally decided that there had to be a better way, and found your awesome removal technique! Thank you!

Thank you dude!!! My blinds exactly like this were being a HUGE pain, you’re awesome!!
Good job. I couldn't even find those instructions in the manual. You're a lifesaver thank you
spent 5 min and lots of elbow grease trying to get them out. FInally decided to check online. Would never have come up with this solution. Thanks.
Bless you sir! I have been fighting with these stupid blinds for way too long and google was less than helpful. Thank you!!
You're amazing. After struggling for 15 minutes, and trying the screwdriver prying trick, I searched for a better way. Your video popped up & just like you said, it was off in seconds! Thank-you SO much!
Thank you Thank you. Most perfect...Spent all morning knowing there had to be an easy fix. You did it. You nailed !
You saved me. Thank you so much. I've been struggling with this on and off for days.

You did save me several minutes and lots of frustration. Thanks for the video.
Thank you so much! I went back to the store this morning and asked the salesman how to remove them. He didn’t have any idea. Got it down in 5 minutes.
Thank you. I had forgottern how to remove and re-install my cellular blinds. I tired your method and it only took me two tries. I found I just needed to be a little higher up and so I used my painters ladder and mission accomplished.

Thank you so much!!!! We just spend 15 minutes staring to argue over if we where just going to break them. So truly thank you

Might be best video on RUclips. Short and to the point.
