If any of the students who played this ever check back here, please know your performance is still bringing joy and entertainment to people all around the world. :)
i will never stop watching these kids do such a great job so talented wish they had a cd out i would buy it, so guys and gals again a big thumbs up and dont stop playing you make people smile with your playing and thats what it is all about. thank you
As a biased fan of the 50's version that made it's way into the film Badlands, which was my introduction to this evocative piece, I bypassed this post. Then, something made me go back and open it. I'm so glad I did. Well done Gad's Hill. Splendid interpretation.
again never get tired of these young people doing such a great job , it is highlighted on a tv advertisement here in new zealand and thats how i found these talented kids, please give us a cd guys your great
I play this very often it is an absolute legendary rendition of this piece I salute all involved teacher student's all of you! I hope that all of you look back on this as a remarkable & brilliant achievement
I watch this every few days and am in awe of the music the choreography the person who put this together and the members of the orchestra that made this possible. Well done all of you. Where are you all now?
ABSOLUTELY agree - a few measly parents/teachers (seemingly) begrudged applause just doesn't give these youngsters the kudos they deserve for that performance. BRAVO!!!
Beautiful! A local classical music radio station host used this as an opening theme for his morning show decades ago. This piece was such part of my life to get the juices flowing after dragging myself out of bed, especially on cold and dark winter mornings. Thank you for posting!
I have loved this song ever since i saw the film Badlands which is also brilliant,,,,,,,,,,,,one small gripe would be the tamborene player does not get in the picture
You bring tears to my eyes with your melancholy and heart stirring rendition of this sound. I have been listening to this piece all my life and I can't say what it means to me. Carl Orf was a genius and so are you all. God bless you all for making my day and God bless my son Elliott too.
I feel sorry for the six people who are either deaf or just haters that had to give a thumbs down for this great piece of work by these kids. I'm sure they worked very hard to practice this and pull it off. Even the timing of walking into the camera range was very good. And the boys and girls in their army uniforms shows what pride they have in their school and themselves! You all did Mr. Orff proud!
How this conjures up the sad reality of the lost innocence of youth, mine, yours, all children who are mistreated and were abused, and especially for my dear, dear friend Mary, who has found her way back into my life. I have protected her from afar as best as I could and now I'm ready to dedicate every living fibre I have left in this disease-ridden body to stopping anyone from ever hurting her again. Only she and my son Shane, and very, very, very few others have this promise from me, and I take solace in the fact they can count on it.
A lovely piece of music, well done to all the musicians. Yes the applause should have been greater, but I really appreciated it nonetheless. Wonderful to see a bunch of teenagers cooperate so well to produce such a beautiful sound. Thank you. Kevin, Dublin.
guys and girls you are so amazing cant stop watching your perform this have told everyone to go online to watch your amazing perfornace and think over 30,000 people around the world love your performance you will be a big hit as soon as some one in the media recognizes your talent wish i had a cd of yours , keep going as you will be a hit soon
Very nice presentation and concept for a school group, and of course what an appropriate piece for an educational performance! This US fan is so glad you put it up on the net and will pass it along to our local schools. Formidable!
These young people will be discovering what wise men have known for years - that music teaches us more than anything else. People who have been taught music find other subjects easier to study, they are calmer, more logical in their approach and become more rounded human beings. (And I speak as someone who can't read a note!).
I presume that there weren't more people in the audience applauding at the end because the beauty and power of this performance had blown them away. I'm glad they got the response they deserve.
I've loved this piece of music all my life without knowing what it was. Shazammed it last week and found this. I've watched it again and again, it's absolutely brilliant. I am impressed by you all. Well done and Thank You for posting it.
i can not understand you dont get more hits than 45,276 you are brillant and wish you had more than 3 people in the audience to appreciate the great job you all done hope someone fron the team relpies to me love to talk about your redition
Are you american? This video was posted 5 years ago and all these people have left, but I go to this school and I'm in grade 9, (I think, in the UK we don't say grade we say year so I'm in year 9 but idk if they are the same thing) :)
Just beautiful. I'm sitting here writing the Eulogy for my mum's funeral in 4 days time. This once again brought me to tears. Thank you - marvellously talented children (young adults now probably), and proud in their uniforms too. Superb.
Judging by the dress and the light it was a rehearsal in the middle of the day not a performance. The way it was choreographed was excellent and the kids were wonderful.
I love this. in 2 days im playing one of the parts that goes from the beginning with my music class! We are sounding nearly as good as this! nearly........
Such beautiful music and choreography given so freely by such talented young musicians and, only a handful of people turn up to watch. What's goin on please.
I find it truly amassing that this tuneful piece of music Gassenhauer and the completely opposite Carmina Burana both written by Karl Orff shows a whole lot of musical genius in the man!
I love this....the way the kids keep "floating" in to play their parts! If you watch closely, you can see what musical addition each child makes to the overall performance! Great job, kiddos!
If any of the students who played this ever check back here, please know your performance is still bringing joy and entertainment to people all around the world. :)
same here
Yes I agree very much.
This is my favorite piece of music, and this brought tears to my eyes. Thank you.
Wow. Wonderful performance. Seamless how each additional group of students added to the harmonious sound.
I just love This music I could play it everyday thank you for the joy it brings me 🎶🎶🎶❤❤❤
3 years later I'm still watching this video and enjoying immensely. Thank you again to all involved for sharing this awesome video.
best version of this I have heard
Just a shame there weren't more people ghere to appreciate it & your work
Stiffkittens this was recorded at the rehearsal where only a few teachers were present, but got much more applause at their concert.
Superb, there's one music teacher who has done one hell of a job.
I just cannot get enough of listening and watching this video. I play it so often, I think I have an addiction. Well done Gad,s Hill school
Superb.
I can't help but wonder, just what these young people are doing now.
Same question I had…
Growen up now…
i will never stop watching these kids do such a great job so talented wish they had a cd out i would buy it, so guys and gals again a big thumbs up and dont stop playing you make people smile with your playing and thats what it is all about. thank you
I noticed I found myself smiling with the music and the more intense the piece got the bigger the smile.....thank you all :D
True!
GreenGrasshoppa as I was watching, I was reading your post, entirely true, huge 😃
Still the best version I have ever heard. You guy's and laydeez are very fabulous.
Spoke to my soul, well done to the kids here, amazing talent!

SAME
yep me too
I know, huh? So charming.
That was fantastic; brought a huge smile to my face. Pleased to see Schulwerk being practised/performed in British schools.
Loud, vibrant and joyous! A sheer roof-top jumping delight.
I really want to edit this video and add a thunderous applause at the end. These kids deserve it.
ABSOLUTELY agree - a few measly parents/teachers (seemingly) begrudged applause just doesn't give these youngsters the kudos they deserve for that performance. BRAVO!!!
@@nuttysquirrel8574 Couldn't agree more.
I would like to edit it and add great big smiles on all those faces. Wonderful.
Indeed
Beautiful! A local classical music radio station host used this as an opening theme for his morning show decades ago. This piece was such part of my life to get the juices flowing after dragging myself out of bed, especially on cold and dark winter mornings. Thank you for posting!
I clapped so hard in school today watching this👏👏👏👏👏👏👏👏👏👏👏👏👏👏
Beautiful! And such a nice set of instruments for this musical program. Pat 💖
I have loved this song ever since i saw the film Badlands which is also brilliant,,,,,,,,,,,,one small gripe would be the tamborene player does not get in the picture
Well done, VERY well done! For some reason I don't understand myself, this piece of music always brings a lump to my throat.....
Han de Ridder the same with me 🤗🤗🤗
Die Kids sind echt gut!:-))))
Han de Ridder - It's pure joy, that's why. Carl Orff captured the pure joy of children at play, running free.
I absolutely love this performance, wish I could have been there to applaud it.
A superbly clever and moving rendition! I, on my own, applauded louder than the entire audience present.
That was bloody brilliant. Worthy of the Albert Hall.
I have watched different versions of this piece and this one is simply the best. Well done everyone, you made a great piece even better
I agree. The best of the rest! It sounds heavenly to me 🙏🏻
Well done guys and gals! Brilliant rendition!
You bring tears to my eyes with your melancholy and heart stirring rendition of this sound. I have been listening to this piece all my life and I can't say what it means to me. Carl Orf was a genius and so are you all. God bless you all for making my day and God bless my son Elliott too.
+DSoTM lol
these kids can be proud of themselves!!!

I want these kids to play for me all the time! Love this piece, love mallet instruments... nothing better.
Finding Forrester had me searching out this music. Love all renditions I have listened to but this is truly one of the best. Thank you for this.
I can't stop coming back to this wonderful performance!
Totally brilliant, brought tear to my eye. Marvelous could not stop watching .
This is absolutely beautiful....thank you

One of the most beautiful things that I have ever discovered online. Loved the soundtracks for Badlands and True Romance. Orff is good fodder.
Brilliant didn't expect this you have really really done this superb justice
ABSOLUTELY BRILLIANT! THANK YOU VERY MUCH!
I don't comment on many videos but I had to on this one, it was amazing! Great music, Great presentation! BRAVO!
Hey I'm just gonna say you performed excellent, and we all enjoyed all of this song. Remember that the Audience is now out there in Cyber land
This is still the best version on RUclips.
Excellent performance, very well done. Would love to see The Royal Marines doing this..............
Very nice presentation and concept for a school group, and of course what an appropriate piece for an educational performance! This US fan is so glad you put it up on the net and will pass it along to our local schools. Formidable!
This is a lovely piece of music played superbly, I love it
John Stone you smashed this out of the park well well done!
Best version I ever heard.
Please realise John Stone, Director of Music at Gads has arranged all of this as he does every time! Great performance though. Well done kids!
Brilliant in every way. Loved it. Talented youth, Boys and grls. Well done you!! Greetings from Ireland x

1Caratacus I totally agree with you 🤗🤗🤗
I presume that there weren't more people in the audience applauding at the end because the beauty and power of this performance had blown them away. I'm glad they got the response they deserve.
It's because this was only a rehearsal. It got much more applause at the actual concert.
a great and believable explanation, making my wonder why I hadn't thought of it. Thanks much.
Excellent. It's very nice to watch it actually being played...and so well :D
It's a shame there is so few in the audience this is a great performance!
we are in the audience now
It looks like a final rehearsal not a concert; but so well presented and performed!
WISH I COULD HAVE BEEN ATTENDING
Excellent job well done.
This is absolutely fantastic bravo you kids,I well up when I heard this tune on the film badlands, you guys done brilliant.
I've loved this piece of music all my life without knowing what it was. Shazammed it last week and found this. I've watched it again and again, it's absolutely brilliant. I am impressed by you all. Well done and Thank You for posting it.

charlie turpin t'was a rehearsal
We are playing this at school! I'm bass xylophone. This piece is really cool!
(I'm in Grade 5)
Are you american? This video was posted 5 years ago and all these people have left, but I go to this school and I'm in grade 9, (I think, in the UK we don't say grade we say year so I'm in year 9 but idk if they are the same thing) :)
wow same
are you in 7th grade now
Best performance of this piece bar none. Brilliant.
I discoverd Gassenhauer by seeing the movie "Badlands" where it was used to great affect.
Me too. Took ages to find what it was though.
Harry Schaefer movie soundtracks have brought me much good music
Just beautiful. I'm sitting here writing the Eulogy for my mum's funeral in 4 days time. This once again brought me to tears. Thank you - marvellously talented children (young adults now probably), and proud in their uniforms too. Superb.
This is so brilliantly done. Thank you (from the future). Perfection.
I'm so glad I found this. This song is a bit of an obsession for me and your performance was amazing!
Absolutely beautiful! I hope you kids keep playing this piece and keep posting as the performances get tighter and smoother.
This piece is amazing and now in 2020 we are re-doing it!!!! :) 🥳😄😃
At GHS
The practice it must have taken to get the parts correct. I love this song. I first heard it in Finding Forrester.
Absolutely wonderful! Stellar!
Wow! IT doesn't get better than this! Bravo!
Amazing. Deserved a much bigger round of applause.
agreed, how are there only like 5 people witnessing that. I got chills. I was anxiously awaiting the roar of a stadium crowd. that was amazing
The clapping spoils it. It needs silence to allow the beautiful sounds to slowly fade away.
I thought that was part of the charm.
There were probably only 10 people watching and some people are too shy to clap.
Judging by the dress and the light it was a rehearsal in the middle of the day not a performance. The way it was choreographed was excellent and the kids were wonderful.
looking around for more versions of this great piece and now I found this...amazing, really nice, good job guys, thanks I really enjoy this ;-)
Shear musical magic and haunting rendering be these pupils. I cannot stop playing this regularly.
a compelling performance and - well - choreography, nicely done!
Like? LOVE.!
Love the school and officer training uniforms. There is hope, and I do love humanity.
Always makes me smile. Thank you
Late to the party I know but what a stunning performance, well done to all
Wow! Love this, thank you all.

I love this. in 2 days im playing one of the parts that goes from the beginning with my music class! We are sounding nearly as good as this! nearly........
Such beautiful music and choreography given so freely by such talented young musicians and, only a handful of people turn up to watch. What's goin on please.
This was the rehearsal, so there were only a handful of teachers there.
@@elizab2413 Thanks, that explains everything. I do hope the final performance was a success for all their hard work.
Beautiful, gives me chills.
Magnificent job by these talented young people.
Fantastic. Good work gals and guys, you done good. Love it...
10 /10 Brilliant you should all be proud of yourselves
These are the best soldiers the world has ever seen! May you bring down nations!! Salut!!!!
I find it truly amassing that this tuneful piece of music Gassenhauer and the completely opposite Carmina Burana both written by Karl Orff shows a whole lot of musical genius in the man!
I wish my school did something like this
i am sure some one has watch this after me they are great
Just beautiful. Thank you all.
I just so love 💛💙this music 👏👏👏
This brings me joy. Thanks, kids!
I love this....the way the kids keep "floating" in to play their parts! If you watch closely, you can see what musical addition each child makes to the overall performance! Great job, kiddos!
wow that's really good music and good staging as well.
How lovely you are all so very talented thank you peace ✌️
I remember hearing my music class playing something like what I heard in the video. I found it very exciting.
