I just installed an anchor trolley on my kayak this weekend. Stoked to get it out on Mosquito Lagoon as soon as the wind dies down! I've just been tying off the anchor pin to the boat. Really looking forward to being able to move the anchor point, should help a lot.

Great video, I started out kayak fishing about a year ago with a Perception pescador 10. I weigh around 270 and soon found out that was not nearly enough kayak for me. I installed out riggers and fished it several times before graduating to an Old Town Topwater 120 which has plenty of stability for my size. Now that I'm hooked on kayak fishing, I am going to get me a pedal kayak before the end of the year. I would also suggest investing in a rudder if you can, if you are set on paddling. Sometime during your trip you will be fighting wind or current and a rudder really makes the paddle more efficient

Have my Crescent LiteTackle and the open space is amazing for fishing. Couple Yak Attack rod holders, a small cooler, plano box and a small bag for plastics. 3.5lb anchor folds to fit right between the seat and kayak. Highly recommend, but just isn't as stable as some so standing takes practice if that's something you need.

My general rule of thumb isn’t just a 100lbs off the weight limit but instead make 80% of the total weight limit as the safe. Whether it’d be small craft, kayak or boat and let the 20% be the gray area for bilge containment or extra load when needed !

I think I went too far in the wrong direction 😅 $180 kayak with no mount points or rod holders. And too close to weight capacity 😶

The anchor pin is a very specific type of tool, pointless unless your fishing a flat. One of the most important things not talked about is actual weight of the kayak. If you plan on transporting it to different locations and hoisting it up on a roof rack of a vehicle you need to make sure it’s not too heavy
