  • My friend and I drove 20 hours to see alligators and nuclear missiles in Florida! We also stopped by Robert is Here fruit stand and ate seafood. Slow Chinese listening practice around HSK 5 level... okay, not that slow but a bit slower than my natural speech. 😂😂😂

I am in Miami and we are very much aware that there are terrible drivers here. You never get used to it I’m baffled every morning on my commute to work. Next time visit Knaus Berry farm when you come to visit I’m sure you’ll enjoy it.

Awesome content! I like you changed it up a bit this time haha. Btw, if you want to do another Chinese app review, there’s one called “FunEasyLearn: Learn Languages”
I found it a few months ago but I am not sure if I should use it to learn Chinese

Okay, I LOVE this kind of video! I know it's not your normal thing, but this was quite a good video to watch, and if you have more, I'd love to see them! I really enjoy videos that have bilinguality to them, and your transition from Chinese to English is so smooth, sometimes I forgot you were speaking one or the other! (Like in my household!) It's a good way to introduce someone to another language where it's not scary or threatening, and allows for the enjoyment no matter what you speak. Thanks for another amazing video!

Hello, frankly I have no interest in the content of this video but was drawn by your "mastery" with Mandarin and English. I am an ABC (American Born Chinese) myself and speak Cantonese, Mandarin, a little bit of Japanese and English, so I can surely appreciate someone being bi or even multi lingual. Can you share a little bit about your background? Are you an ABC? Is Mandarin your primary language at home? How/where did you learn to read and write so fluently and beautifully. I am quite impressed (and envious) of you! I just gave you a thumbs up and subscribed because I so appreciate and love that your vlog is bilingual. Please do more of these type of videos. I love how your narration is in pingyin, Chinese and English.

I was technically born in China but I consider myself culturally ABC because I moved at such a young age. Spoke Chinese at home and learned to read and write when I started self studying Chinese around college age. My writing is mostly self taught also. Thanks for your lovely comment btw♥️

@@ABChinese WOW! That is amazing! I have been "donating" all my Saturdays (my day off) to my kids by taking them to Chinese language classes over many years. Unfortunately they refuse to grasp the Chinese language and not too much of the culture either, except of course red envelopes during Chinese New Years! LOL I am hoping that they will have a change of heart and want to learn Chinese one day. So if you'd learned in College, that gives me hope. I just started to watch one or two of your videos because it came into my feed with Chinese stroke orders. Do you demo in simplified or traditional? I realize that not too many places teach nor reach traditional anymore which I find it sad because it's so much prettier and is the root of the writing system. I feel that there's just something missing with the simplified form. I want to continue to learn characters even though technically I have no need for it. I am retired and in my fifties now and in the US (so not like I need it for work) but I have such profound appreciation for our language.

@@proudasiangirl576 I think the biggest factor is motivation. Your kids will want to learn Chinese if they feel like there's a reason to learn it. This can come from Chinese songs, movies, shows, even Tiktok? I use simplified because that's what I know better, but I'm personally trying to learn traditional as well!
