Listen to this with headphones and you'll hear one *very* faint string pluck in the silence at 5:49, so faint that I only heard it the first time because it was dead silent in my house and I had headphones on. That one faint addition is honestly devastating to me, like its the last beat of her heart or the last breath she'll take.
Absolutely. I haven’t read up on the influences for this soundtrack, but I’m definitely being reminded of the soundtrack for Westworld (at least the first season), which shares some thematic elements with this show. And also The Last Samurai. All of these visual media have phenomenal soundtracks, IMO
Chanbara (チャンバラ), also commonly spelled "chambara", meaning "sword fighting" films, denotes the Japanese film genre called samurai cinema in English and is roughly equivalent to Western. Injecting 'Paint it black' is just a little giggle I think
@@gerardlacroix6015 I kind of wish that the Madame had ordered the death of the thousand claw clan instead of just killing Konoyo. She didn’t know who she was fucking with though. That’s why she didn’t think of that.
TBF I think it was trying to show the consequences of Mizu giving in to altruism. She fulfilled Madam Kaji's request but killed an innocent for it, she told the boy to call the watchman out of guilt and instead he snitched to Hamata. No good deed goes unpunished.
its a shame that good part lasts only one minute from the 8 and I cant add it to my spotify playlist because i dont really want to listen again other 7 minutes
@@ReverseZoom25thCentury I cant do it in spotify and spotify is where all my music and playlists are. How you propose me to add separate mp3 file (pirated obviously) to my playlist?
As a Westerner I always feel movies set in the east sabotage the immersion by using too many western instruments. The strings are definitely here, but the vocals, shamisen, and Buddhist prayer bowls really set this apart.
1:40 I need an hour of this man.

Just heard it and now I'm in tears 😔
@@cantsay939 Me too.
1:40
This track remained in my head long after the episode ended
4:27 this moment and sound after 4:51 like a bolt through my spine after I remembered what must go after that
This is a powerful song, for a powerful moment in such a powerful show!
anyone else hears a bit of "Paint it Black" vibe? :)
Yesss! I hear it too!!

You know, I’m mad about Kinuyo in hindsight. If she was just gonna kill the thousand claw clan….KINUYO DIDNT NEED TO DIE 😅
RIGHT
Hindsight is the privilege of those who lives to regret their actions.
@@gerardlacroix6015 yeah and the point is that Kinuyo didn’t live long enough to regret shit 😭😭😭😭

I think doing what she did to Kinuyo really fucked with Mizu's mind afterward. 😢
Kinuyo gave her more pause than a dozen stab wounds. Revenge stops making sense when someone else is footing the bill.
