Everyone would have been happier if Charles were allowed to marry Camilla originally. I know about all the problems with Camilla's "virtue" and Catholic connections (which were a big Constitutional problem 50 years ago), but still, everyone would have been happier.
All three were victims of an absurd system requiring the prince of wales to marry an aristocratic virgin. Wasn't the marriage more or less arranged by Dianas grandmother and the Queen Mum?
There was no legal law stopping them so if they fought a bit harder, yes they could have married. When they first got together, they didn't plan on getting too serious; Camilla famously told him "You know your great grandfather and my great grandmother were lovers. How about it?" Charles knew he had to find a suitable bride for a future Queen and Camilla knew her class wouldn't be accepted. However, it got deeper than they thought and only realized it when it was too late.
In real life, Camilla also knew her lack of status (especially the family history of her grandmother as a mistress), would never make her suitable for a future king, so that's why even if she had feelings for him, she had to see it as surface level fun.
He knew he was going to be King from his earliest days - Camilla knew it as well from her descent from Alice Keppel, the last mistress of Edward Vll. Kings married for advantage, to obtain great wealth or huge lands or power. Love was a luxury their country couldn't afford. Everyone understood that - for "fun" they had mistresses. These royal marriages were often accompanied by treaties that bound countries together. Diana was a good choice but she was too much younger than him, they had no common interests yet while accepting she had to be a virgin, he was disappointed she knew nothing about sex . So he had Camilla who was good at it. Between them they engineered two divorces and placed Diana as the outcast, where she was eventually killed in an accident. So Charles got his way in the end though he nearly wrecked the royal family and married Camilla and making her Queen. This play has not ended yet, there is still honor to be salved and retribution to be paid.
I will always think it's karma that he got cancer shortly after his ascension, especially since he wasn't a smoker and most of his members lived long enough without any issues.
@@lordalessan The type of cancer has not been specified but I think it must be prostate since he's that age and with thumping along on all those horses it couldn't have helped. Princess Catherine didn't deserve her illness but I was heartened to see her looking better than expected though terribly thin but with all her hair. And her children are responding well too. It will be a waiting game for a while.
@@JCaroleClarke Catherine doesn't deserve it. And while Charles' battle hasn't been specified, it's still a battle and one he had to deal with so soon after his ascension. I'm sorry for sounding mean, but I have no empathy for him. I only feel bad that his condition has placed more burden on William.
@@lordalessan William better get used to it since I think the problem will only continue. Charles lll is like Charles ll in that both had remote parents who attended to duty before family. He was uber sensitive and it got to him. Good lesson for all parents. Children don't need things, they need guidance to start well in life and unconditional love for foundation. Divorce and adultery are surely worse than ‘virtue’. They could not have made a bigger mess, had they been allowed to marry. Poor Diana.
Precisely !!
So Camilla pretty much just admitted Charles was a rebound. She only affirmed his feelings when Andrew lost interest.
They both did Diana wrong. They have absolutely no shame.

Maybe he should have been allowed to marry Camilla in the 1970s. It has wasted too many lives.

😢if She had truly loved him(Camilla) would have waited for him to return.

Right. Andrew was a good fitting for her, not Charles who was a boy
@@marieantoinettev712 Exactly and she figured it would've been a waste anyway. No one expected Charles to stick by her.

Hey, good morning! ☺️❤️
lol, good morning
Try as I might, I cannot look at Charles and Camilla and see beyond their loathsome behavior.

If he adores her why he married Diana? Why he didn't marry her since 1970?
Too weak. He let his family control his life.
